Membership Required
Before you can take advantage of the facilities, it's important to note that membership is required. Many reviews suggest that while the membership process can be straightforward, some encountered issues with staff and sales tactics, which detracted from their initial excitement about joining.
Planning Your Visit
When planning your visit to LA Fitness, consider peak hours as it tends to get crowded, especially after work. Some members have commented on difficulties finding available machines during busy times. Arriving during off-peak hours may enhance your experience, providing easier access to equipment.
Atmosphere and Community
The atmosphere at LA Fitness is generally regarded as friendly and inclusive. Many patrons appreciate the supportiveness of staff members like Maria and Kierra, who contribute to a community feel. However, there are mixed reviews regarding customer service, with some experiencing less-than-friendly interactions at the front desk.
Facilities and Amenities
LA Fitness offers a variety of amenities, including:
Shower facilities that are well-maintained, making it convenient for those who wish to freshen up post-workout.
A spacious swimming pool, but some members have mentioned the need for reservable lanes for serious swimmers.
A full-sized basketball court available for recreational play.
Wi-Fi access throughout the gym.
A wheelchair-accessible entrance and a car park designed for wheelchair accessibility, ensuring inclusivity for all members.
Accessibility and Cleanliness
A key aspect of any gym experience is accessibility. While the Agoura Hills location is designed with accessibility in mind, some reviews have noted inconsistencies in cleanliness. Members have expressed concerns about the state of locker rooms and equipment maintenance. Regular cleaning appears to be an area needing improvement based on feedback.
Final Thoughts
Overall, LA Fitness in Agoura Hills offers a solid gym experience with various amenities and a community-oriented environment. The range of classes, including Pilates, is well received, particularly the positive feedback surrounding instructors like July and Nazanin.
However, be prepared for the possibility of overcrowding during peak hours and potential challenges during the membership signup process. If you’re seeking a gym that balances affordability and a comprehensive workout environment, LA Fitness could be the right fit for you.

This gym is a tad better than your average spot. The facilities are clean, there's plenty of cardio equipment, and everything is in pretty good shape. I recommend heading there around noon for a more peaceful workout with fewer folks around.

Quite a dreadful experience, I must say. I was eager to give this gym a go, so I secured a guest pass online. However, upon arrival, the front desk attendant had me waiting for a good 30 minutes just to provide me with a tour (which, by the way, included a lengthy sales pitch lasting another 20-30 minutes).
To my surprise, both individuals suggested that I could skip the queue by paying 20 dollars instead. Jocelyn, who was manning the front desk, proved to be quite challenging to interact with.
I don't mind dedicating time to familiarize myself with a gym, but given that I was pressed for time, I found it rather frustrating that nowhere was it clearly stated that I would have to invest nearly an hour just to obtain a pass.
Furthermore, they attempted to push a membership on me even before allowing me to experience the facilities firsthand.
The gym itself seems decent enough, but the aggressive sales tactics, unwelcoming reception, and time-consuming procedures were major drawbacks for me.
Larry Cook (6/14/25, 7:31 AM):
I recently started going to the gym and was a bit hesitant about investing in personal training sessions. However, I was fortunate to be matched with Nazanin T., and what a blessing it turned out to be! Naz is incredibly warm and personable, and I genuinely look forward to our sessions every week. I may curse her (jokingly) during the tough workouts, but her dedication and personalized approach always win me over. She really takes the time to tailor each session to my specific goals, and her encouragement pushes me to do my best. I am so grateful for her guidance! Additionally, I must mention that the gym equipment in the personal training area is consistently well-maintained and organized, which I truly value.

For families who have been displaced by the fires and lack hot water or electricity, the showers are not actually free. You will be required to wait to speak with a membership services manager for what I assume is a guest pass and to potentially purchase a membership. I have a 9-month-old baby who is in need of a shower, and I cannot afford to wait an hour to sign up for something that I do not require. I am not interested in listening to a sales pitch or putting my card down for a hold. All I want is a complimentary shower after going without one for two days, as they have advertised.
Elizabeth Diaz (6/12/25, 8:09 AM):
I absolutely adore the gym and the staff have consistently provided me with fantastic experiences. Working out there brings me sheer joy. However, I must express two minor grievances. Firstly, I was quite taken aback that a new gym, built from the ground up and presumably at a considerable cost, did not feature a hot tub. Can you believe it? Secondly, I do wish they would open earlier on weekends. To me, 7:00 am seems far more suitable than the current 8:00 am opening time on Saturdays and Sundays.
Larry Roberts (6/11/25, 2:23 PM):
Oh dear, what a dreadful first encounter. I strolled in with a pass to sample the gym's offerings. Despite noting the not-so-great reviews, I decided to give them a chance. Alas, now I understand why... The lady at the front desk informed me that my pass couldn't be utilized as there was no staff available to activate it. The only option presented to me was to fork out $20 for a trial. Quite a crafty move on their part to take advantage of newbies. I shan't be gracing them with my presence again. Cheers.

Just got done with a sweat sesh at this LA Fitness. Top-notch club with a wide array of gear. Club is spotless and everything is in its place. I'd definitely suggest this club to anyone on the lookout for a stellar spot to get their gains on.
Janice Wright (6/7/25, 1:06 AM):
I have had a tremendous experience at this gym. The equipment and accessories are top-notch and always convenient. The staff, especially David at the front desk, has been extremely helpful and laid-back. Every member of the team at this gym is fantastic.

I must say, I am quite dismayed by the billing practices over at L.A. Fitness in Agoura Hills. A while back, I became a member, though truth be told, I never actually set foot in the place. When I eventually decided to cancel my membership, they insisted I do it in person, rather than over the phone. After jumping through that hoop, I thought I was done, only to realize that they had charged me an annual fee just a few days prior to my cancellation. I reached out to their billing department to request a refund for the fee, considering I hadn't made use of any of their facilities, but they flat out refused. To think I shelled out $1000 without even a nod to customer service—it truly left me flabbergasted. My advice to anyone out there would be to steer clear of this gym. What a regrettable waste of money. Absolutely no courtesy shown whatsoever.
Kenneth Cooper (5/24/25, 6:21 AM):
I was on my friend's VIP list (for a 7-day free trial) and they refused me entry even though I had a QR code and everything. The customer service is terrible, and the front desk staff, especially the girls, are extremely rude.
Ella Sanders (5/20/25, 1:45 PM):
First things first, a big shoutout to the front desk team for being amazing! However, I kindly request that they reserve at least one lane of the pool for serious swimmers.
Today, Sunday 2nd of February 2025, there were four individuals using the pool for leisurely walks and conversations. These activities could have easily been accommodated in just one lane, leaving space for those who want to swim laps.
Carl Parker (5/19/25, 9:56 PM):
Ms. Delgado is an absolute gem. She always greets me with a warm welcome whenever I step foot in the gym. She has a way of creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere that truly makes the gym feel like a second home. Whenever I need help or guidance, she is more than willing to assist me to the best of her abilities.
A big thank you to Mrs. Delgado for fostering such a safe and welcoming environment at the gym, where I can work on improving myself both physically and mentally!
Virginia Hayes (5/19/25, 4:42 PM):
I must say, the gym and its equipment are quite to my liking, but I find it rather disappointing that despite the current need for heightened cleanliness, the place appears quite unsanitary and unkempt. In the past, there used to be a diligent crew consistently mopping and maintaining hygiene standards. Nowadays, however, I scarcely witness any cleaning activity, and it seems evident that the premises are not being properly sanitized even during closing hours. The floors bear sticky residues, and the machines are rarely given a wipe-down. One would expect a surge in cleaning efforts during a pandemic, yet it appears to be quite the contrary here. Furthermore, the lack of enforcement regarding mask usage and vaccination checks adds to the dismay. Witnessing the swift decline in the upkeep of this relatively new facility is truly disheartening.
Johnny Russell (5/19/25, 5:32 AM):
We've been members for over a year and absolutely adore this gym. It's spotless, equipped with top-notch gear that's impeccably maintained, the classes are fantastic, and the new workout area is simply stunning. I can't speak on the showers as I don't use them. The group workout room could do with a bit more space since the classes are quite popular - the instructors are top-notch. I do wish they'd convert one of the racquetball courts into additional space, but aside from that, this gym is fantastic. The staff at the front desk have always been incredibly friendly.
Brittany Gray (5/17/25, 8:46 PM):
I had a brilliant time at this gym! I was welcomed by a staff member named Jamar Neal, who was exceedingly kind and helpful in giving me a tour.
Barbara James (5/13/25, 2:59 AM):
I've been a regular at this gym for some time now, and I must say it's top-notch and spotlessly clean. My personal trainer, Nazanin, is simply fantastic. She brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and a friendly demeanor to every session. Tailoring the movements based on your body's needs is her forte, ensuring a seamless and effective workout. I'm thrilled to continue my training sessions with her.
Grace Hamilton (5/11/25, 2:54 AM):
I absolutely adored the experience of checking in at this LA fitness center. Hailing from the east coast and craving a familiar workout routine, I decided to try out LA Fitness and immediately felt comfortable. Maria assisted me with registration, sign-up, and even gave me a tour of the premises. I am thrilled to be part of this vibrant community!
Juan Ford (5/9/25, 12:03 PM):
This gym is looking quite tidy and well-kept. I pop in there about once a month to have a casual shootaround on the basketball courts with a couple of mates. So far, the other members I've crossed paths with have all seemed like decent folks.
However, last night, there was a bit of a kerfuffle between some seasoned chaps and a crew of youngsters hogging both courts for their 5-on-5 game. It seemed like a couple of the young lads were provoking the older gents into a confrontation.
I feel compelled to share my experience due to the outstanding work and professionalism of Eddie at the reception. Eddie successfully diffused the tension between the groups, preventing what could have been a messy situation for everyone involved. He managed to calm things down and persuaded the young fellas to share the courts.
Top-notch job, Eddie! You might just have a promising future in negotiations ahead of you!
Julie Sanchez (5/9/25, 7:02 AM):
This gym is absolutely fantastic and just what Agoura Hills needed. The showers and gym facilities are in pristine condition. They don't rigorously enforce the nonsensical mask mandates, allowing us to work out without a sweaty and ineffective mask. My only gripe is that the parking lot can get scorching hot under the summer sun. Hopefully, those trees will grow quickly to provide some much-needed shade.
Jeremy Reyes (5/9/25, 3:27 AM):
Worst experience of my life, mate! This gym is a total rip-off!! I shelled out $200, which was alright, but then they spring the annual fee on me and threaten to slap on extra charges if I'm late with payment?? When I rocked up at the gym with cash to settle the tab, they wouldn't take it because they couldn't give me change. I offered to let them keep the extra, but they refused. I had to escalate things to the manager and it was an absolute shambles. The vibes were so negative and disheartening. Canceling my membership was a nightmare too, with the constant calls and sneaky fees. Proper gutted. Avoid this gym like the plague, they're a bunch of thieving scallywags!
