LA Fitness in Beaverton, Oregon: A Comprehensive Overview

Located in Beaverton, LA Fitness offers a multitude of amenities for fitness enthusiasts. However, reviews highlight several areas of concern that potential members should consider before signing up for a membership required to access its facilities.

Amenities and Offerings

This gym boasts a variety of amenities, including a basketball court, a swimming pool, and a sauna. The atmosphere is generally vibrant, making it feel less like just another gym and more like a community space where people can come together to improve their health and well-being.

Members appreciate the availability of exercise classes, especially the beloved swim aerobic class. However, some users have expressed frustration over the lack of maintenance in certain areas, particularly regarding the showers and sauna. Complaints include inconsistent temperature control in the sauna and inadequate water pressure in the showers, making post-workout refreshment a challenge.

Facility Condition and Cleanliness

While many enjoy the overall layout and space provided at LA Fitness, certain comments point out that much of the equipment is outdated. Numerous members have mentioned that the machines appear to be old and poorly maintained. Additionally, cleanliness seems to be a recurring problem, especially in locker rooms and restrooms. Reports of dirty showers and insufficient cleaning supplies like soap and paper towels are concerning for those prioritizing hygiene.

Moreover, the wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park are highlights for accessibility, but they too could use a revamp alongside other aspects of the facility.

Customer Service Challenges

Customer experiences at LA Fitness in Beaverton vary significantly. Some members report positive interactions with staff, highlighting friendly personalities at the front desk and personal training directors. Yet, others have encountered apathetic or rude service, leading to feelings of neglect. A general tone of dissatisfaction points towards a need for improved customer service training and accountability among staff members.

Planning Your Visit

If you're considering visiting during peak hours, be prepared for a busy atmosphere. Members have noted that rush hour can turn into a scramble for equipment. With only two squat racks available, wait times can extend, particularly for those focused on weight lifting.

Despite these challenges, many still find LA Fitness to be a solid choice for fitness due to its wide range of offerings and community feel. Regular events like volleyball and basketball games foster a fun environment. Additionally, features like Wi-Fi connectivity make it easier for members to stay connected while working out.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, LA Fitness in Beaverton, Oregon, presents both opportunities and challenges. While the range of amenities such as a swimming pool, sauna, and basketball court attract many, the facility's upkeep and customer service experience raise red flags. If you value a clean environment and attentive staff, it may be worth considering additional local options before committing to a membership required here.

Austin Williams (5/17/25, 11:30 AM):
The dumbbells go up to 125 pounds, which is superior to other LA Fitness gyms in the area, but the squat racks leave something to be desired. There are not enough weight plates located near the squat racks, and the bumper plates make loading weights awkward. The gym itself is quite small and becomes very crowded during peak hours.
Dylan Graham (5/16/25, 12:33 AM):
In the last couple of months, the men's sauna at the gym has been rather unreliable. Its usual functionality appears to be broken beyond repair. As a result of this neglect, I've encountered three separate instances where the sauna's temperature was barely warmer than the locker room.

Concerned about this issue, I raised it with the front desk staff. The explanation that was relayed to me from the manager was, "it takes a long time to warm up in the mornings because we can't keep it on all night."

I had arrived at 7 am, and the gym opens at 5 am. Prior to these recent events, I had been using the sauna at that time for several months without encountering any problems. The explanation provided does not quite add up. It seems like there is little effort being made to address the sauna's malfunction. Furthermore, it appears that I am not the only one who has brought this matter to their attention.

It seems that management may not be giving much priority to this unique feature that the gym offers. While I used to recommend this place, it has become increasingly difficult to maintain that stance given the current situation.
