Very tidy. It seems like the members are the ones keeping it that way, as I only spotted one bloke watching YouTube videos about guitars. The changing rooms are spotless too, and that's definitely down to the staff. The showers aren't covered in mildew like other gyms in the area. Can't comment on the tanning rooms or hydromassage chairs, as those are for the Premium Members. 🤔 Oh, and their app is incredibly useful. It lets you know how busy the gym is, so you can decide whether to wait a bit before heading over. It's surprisingly accurate. Plus, it guides you on how to use the machines or stations for your workout.
What a delightful spot! If you're on the hunt for a gym where you won't be under scrutiny, this is the spot for you. Their commitment to maintaining a judgment-free environment is unwavering, and fellow gym-goers are often keen to assist you in familiarizing yourself with the equipment and its proper usage. So, don't hesitate to seek guidance on utilizing everything correctly.
There are plenty of other gyms in the vicinity for me to use. I'll probably end up going back to Axiom or start using my Crunch membership that I receive for free through work. I tried Planet Fitness for a few years after leaving Axiom and was really disappointed with the services. There's never anyone at the front desk during peak hours, and even during off-peak times, it's hit or miss whether you can find someone to use the spa. I don't understand why they don't just have members sign in themselves to start using machines. Staff can add water or do a thorough clean when they have time. I'm not convinced that the trade-off for spa services is worth missing Axiom classes. Besides, I can just tan at Crunch. If this happens again, I'm definitely cancelling my membership. It's baffling how the whole gym - products, computers, everything - can be left unattended during peak times. It happened yet again at 6am on a weekday. I worked out while keeping an eye on the front desk for 15-20 minutes, then waited at the desk for another 5-10 minutes. Where are you? Perhaps if your tanning lotions start disappearing and you wake up, it will be too late and you'll lose revenue. If there's no one there to ring people up, I assume it's free?
Update -
Apparently, other members I spoke to said that the employee was working out. It's extremely frustrating because I've seen this employee put up the "spa closed" sign during peak hours (right after checking me in) to go walk around and chat. I understand if he's trying to sell training, but you need front desk coverage. Your shift change staff should be cleaning and restocking at the end of their shift so there's no need to walk around. Thanks!
It's an alright gym, you know. Quite filthy, especially the loo. Just a little tip for ya, give your gym a good scrub when you shut down. Not too many Planet Fitness joints 'round here. Step up your game!
Plenty of space, particularly when compared to some other places I've been to. Only spotted two treadmills that were out of order. Staff was very friendly.
This gym has all you need at a bargain price. You can check in using your phone, and my favorite aspect of it is that the app informs you about how crowded the gym is each time you open it. Such a delightful feature to have, particularly for those (such as myself) who get quite anxious in a crowded gym. The front desk could be more helpful, but for a reasonable membership fee, it's a great gym.
A 10/10 experience, mate! Very tidy, with a proper respectful vibe. I've been coming 'round 'ere for a bit now and would highly recommend it to anyone lookin' for a good place to kick off their gym journey. Cheers!
Superb customer service, perpetually tidy and delightful.
The black card membership is a fabulous bargain. For just 24.99, you get access to all clubs, tanning booths and beds, hydro massage and regular massage chairs, and a red light therapy booth. They also offer trainer consultations, although I haven't tried that yet. The facilities are clean, and there is a mask policy when moving around, but not required when using the machines.
Planet Fitness 'as been me favorite gym I've ever been to. It's bloomin' affordable and never overly crowded, but still 'as all the necessary gym equipment I want. There are gyms closer to me 'ouse but I make the extra drive because I love this gym so much!
Always understaffed. I can no longer recommend this location. They only seem to care about acquiring new members rather than taking care of existing ones. I would suggest looking for a different gym.
Updated: I am revising my review and adjusting my rating because there are a few staff members who excel at their job.
The hot water for showers tends to last only around 3 minutes, even if you're showering solo. When you're done, you've really got to give those knobs a good twist to stop the leaking. The lockers could benefit from gentler closures to avoid those awkward slams. Oh well, I suppose these are the sacrifices one makes for a budget membership..
They done said they would give me back my money for a charge that was made AFTER I done cancelled my membership. It's been two whole months now and I ain't seen hide nor hair of my refund. I've done tried sending emails to the manager, and now I've been straight up ignored multiple times.
I absolutely adore my Planet Fitness! The location is super convenient, and they're open 24/7, except on major holidays, but even then, they're only closed for a short time so I can quickly get back to my workout routine. The staff here are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist me in achieving my fitness goals. The best part? The televisions! They span the length of the cardio machines, so I can watch while breaking a sweat, which really helps the time fly by. One time, I ended up doing an extra ten minutes because I got so engrossed in a show I'd never seen before. Don't forget your headphones for the cardio machines – you can plug them in and pick your channel to listen to while you exercise. The gym is impeccably clean too, with lockers located upfront and in both bathrooms. Speaking of the bathrooms, they're not only spotless but also spacious! There are showers and a large dressing area, making it easy to come straight from work or leave without being all sweaty. Being a black card member is fantastic – I get access to the tanning area and massage chairs, which I thoroughly enjoy. I feel like I get great value for my money at Planet Fitness! You should definitely stop by and chat with one of the staff members about getting your own membership.
I absolutely adore this place! Exceptionally neat, staff is incredibly friendly......and above all, it truly embodies a judgment-free atmosphere. Being on the heavier side, gyms have always been intimidating as I constantly felt eyes on me. This place, however, is the total opposite!!!
Here's what I'd like: How about waving not just the enrollment fee, but also waiving the annual fee when you first sign up? I don't mind paying the monthly fee and then continuing with the annual fee next year. It seems like so many businesses are just after money. Why not cut us a break? You'll make plenty of money in the long run anyway. Just a thought... you'll achieve the profit you want by starting off with a gesture of goodwill towards your customers.
I am absolutely fed up with this place, I must say! The cleanliness leaves so much to be desired. Dust bunnies and hairballs are a constant presence all over the establishment. The machines are never properly wiped down, and when the red-haired lady is manning the front desk, you can bet your bottom dollar that there won't be any paper towels stocked up. I've made the switch to the Orchard and Overland branch, and let me tell you, they are miles ahead in terms of cleanliness.
Fantastic spot! Brand-new gym gear! Superb staff! Plenty of room to smash your workout!
