Sarah Price (5/8/25, 6:56 AM):
I recently had me first encounter at Orange Theory, and alas, it did not meet me expectations. I stumbled upon an issue with customer service that truly left me disheartened. On me way to the studio, I faced an emergency which caused me to arrive a tad late before the class. Even though I made it before the class commenced, it seems I was expected to be there a full 30 minutes earlier. Despite explaining me circumstances to the front desk, they were adamant that I pay the $28 fee, displaying no willingness to assist or show empathy, even after I detailed the emergency I had faced.

What struck a chord with me was how they persisted in promoting membership plans, hinting that the $28 could be applied towards a membership. It became apparent that they could have waived the fee from the start but chose not to do so until it aligned with their sales objectives. It felt more like a sales strategy rather than a genuine attempt to aid or connect with a new customer.

The situation did not improve from there. I received a follow-up call from the manager, and I expressed me discontent, hoping for a resolution. However, similar to the front desk encounter, there was still no offer of assistance unless I committed to a membership. When I mentioned that me friend had brought many individuals who were never charged the $28 fee for similar circumstances, the manager suggested it was due to the "trendy" area and folks "taking advantage" of the free class. This felt rather offensive, particularly since I am a local, as indicated on me account, and it seemed as though they were assuming negativity without grasping the situation.

All in all, me experience left me feeling more like a target for a sales pitch rather than a valued customer. There was no endeavor to make amends, and I departed feeling unwelcomed and unappreciated. I had hoped for a warm, understanding atmosphere, yet it felt cold and purely transactional. I am uncertain if I shall return based on the poor handling of the situation.
