For outdoor fitness lovers, there are outdoor services available that include scenic walking paths and outdoor pools. Parents can take advantage of the Kids Academy, which provides childcare while you focus on your fitness goals. However, it's important to note that membership is required to access these facilities.

Planning Your Visit

To make the most of your visit, planning is essential. The gym can become quite busy, especially after 3 PM when high school kids occupy equipment. To avoid peak hours, try to visit early in the day or during off-peak times. Members have noted that some facilities remain crowded during peak hours, making it challenging to access certain equipment. While on-site, be sure to utilize the toilet and shower facilities, which are generally well-maintained, though periodic checks for cleanliness are necessary.

Community and Atmosphere

The overall atmosphere at Lifetime Fitness is vibrant and welcoming. Many members find it to be a positive place to work out, thanks to the friendly staff and fellow gym-goers. Enjoy a post-workout meal at the café, although be mindful of the pricing and whether cash is accepted. Nevertheless, several patrons have expressed concerns regarding staff customer service, citing experiences where employees were dismissive or rude. This aspect can impact the overall experience, so consider this when visiting.

Addressing Concerns

While many aspects of Lifetime Fitness are commendable, potential members should be aware of a few drawbacks. The locker rooms require regular maintenance, and cleanliness can fluctuate due to the high volume of users. Some reviews indicate that the chemistry of the staff could improve, especially in providing adequate support and guidance for newcomers. Moreover, feedback from members suggests a lack of supervision in certain areas, particularly concerning children in the Kids Academy. Safety and attention to wellness must always be prioritized.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, Lifetime Fitness in Plymouth, MN, presents a robust fitness environment with comprehensive offerings catering to various fitness enthusiasts. With excellent amenities, a variety of classes, and opportunities for both individual and family fitness journeys, it's a strong choice for many. However, familiarizing yourself with the accessibility, cleanliness, and community atmosphere will help ensure a fulfilling gym experience. If you're considering a membership, take the time to visit and assess your fit within this vibrant fitness community.

Cheerio! I used to frequent this gym quite a bit and I must say, it was rather smashing. The equipment was top-notch and there were plenty of towels available. The facilities included a sauna, hot tub, and pools, which were simply delightful. The staff were quite laid-back and easygoing. While some members were a tad peculiar and not quite adept at lifting, they were giving it their all. Besides the occasional odd member using equipment incorrectly while you're waiting, I quite enjoyed my time there. Cheers!

They asked for every single detail when all I wanted was to use a guest pass. I went through a 20-minute drive only to be turned away in a very unprofessional manner at the entrance. It seems that they have a tendency to mistreat teenagers, which was likely the reason for this experience. I was ready to pay my way in, but it felt like they were determined to refuse me entry. The staff member on duty around 6:45 pm on Monday, August 3rd not only provided no assistance but was also rather impolite. Such a shame to see a lovely gym in Plymouth go to waste.
Shirley Roberts (6/5/25, 9:15 AM):
Great spot for a workout! The folks at the front desk are super friendly, and same goes for the locker room attendants. Always ready to assist and very pleasant. Absolutely adore this gym!
Judy Patterson (6/5/25, 3:38 AM):
The gym ain't too shabby. The staff is friendly and helpful, well, mostly. However, they seem to close the jacuzzis way too frequently. And I don't reckon they inform you that you'll be sharing the swimming area with school swim teams. Why do they keep shutting the jacuzzi down for paying customers just 'cause they don't want the swim meet kids in it? They should just tell them not to hop in and stop penalizing their paying customers.

28th October 2022: The gym has just brought in a whole bunch of new gear that really steps up the game. It's fantastic to witness a gym that keeps putting money into enhancing the customer experience.

The equipment selection is top-notch, the staff are welcoming, and the café whips up a mean smoothie. It can get quite busy during peak times, but folks are usually good about sharing the equipment. A fabulous spot for building some serious strength.
Sharon Sanders (6/4/25, 6:53 AM):
The gear is top-notch, the facilities are quite satisfactory, and the atmosphere is primed for fitness triumph.

The team in general is quite competent, although there may be the odd blip in service when you seek assistance.

All in all, it's a fantastic spot to train and achieve your fitness objectives.
Ava James (6/3/25, 1:27 PM):
The instructor smack bang in the middle of the gym floor is unnecessarily loud. The tunes they blast for instructions render regular earphones useless. Even noise-canceling ones only take the edge off the decibels. Why shout at us from just a few feet away? Is the aim for the entire gym to be aware that a class is underway?
Edward Hall (6/3/25, 11:17 AM):
This gym is the worst I've ever experienced. They keep taking away equipment and space from the loyal members who support the gym year-round. Recently, they removed about 20 fitness machines to make room for group training, including those pointless jumping boxes. Hardly anyone uses them, mostly just the young crowd. The gym is not member-friendly at all, with stop signs and "reserved" signs on almost everything. On top of that, they've raised membership prices twice and decreased both space and equipment. They went from 52 treadmills to 46, and now with the new rules, only 34 are available to us base members paying $75 a month. Good luck trying to find a free bench press or squat rack, as most are taken up by group fitness classes. It's a total joke and completely disregards the needs of its members. I'll definitely be cancelling my membership.
