I popped in last week to activate my one-week pass, but they gave me so much trouble and wouldn't let me hit the gym. I thought about signing up for a mentorship program, but then they hit me with a hefty fee and tried to rope me into a contract. The sales folks are really shady and seem to just want to drain your wallet dry. As a single dad with four daughters juggling three jobs, I simply can't afford their prices. They should offer more affordable mentorship options for folks who just want to get their sweat on!

I popped over to this spot on the 16th of October and left my jump rope behind. It's a nifty jump rope with red handles handed down to me by my dear old grandmother just before she passed away. This rope has been my rock on those tough workout days, giving me that extra oomph to push through in the gym and in life. Losing my grandmother in 2019 left a void, and this jump rope is a precious reminder of her love. Upon returning to the gym to retrieve it, I was informed by another member that sticky-fingered kids frequent the premises, making off with belongings. It seems this has been an ongoing issue for her as well. This news was disheartening as I had chosen this gym for its supposed safety and security. The thought that my jump rope may have been pinched due to past incidents dampened my spirits. Safety is paramount for me when selecting a gym, focusing on the well-being of both the area and fellow patrons. I genuinely hope to reunite with my jump rope. If anyone out there spots a jump rope with off-white beige coloring and red handles at this location in Kris's possession or anyone else's, kindly return it to the front desk. I'll be having a chat with the district manager to check the surveillance footage. Many thanks in advance for any assistance. Exercise caution when visiting this establishment. Request the general manager or district manager to scrutinize the camera recordings. It appears that mischievous kids frequent this facility. A prior Google review highlighted an influx of children, resembling a school or daycare. Should any items go missing, consider filing a police report. An unfortunate saga indeed.

Amazing spot. I reckon it deserves a 5th star once they attend to the extensive list of clean & repairs (C&R) that are required. Lockers (some broken, missing doors), restrooms in need of plumbing work, always running out of paper towels and toilet paper, shower stalls in disarray, no soap available, floors are dirty, benches frequently unclean - overall, maintenance for clean & repairs needed.
Gabriel Gonzales (6/12/25, 6:12 AM):
The changing room is consistently dirty. The water aerobics instructor seems to be always changing. I tend to steer clear of Lilia's class as she lacks in her teaching skills. Today, I double-checked the 6 pm water aerobics instructor, and it showed Apollonia instead of Jeanette. Upon arriving at LA Fitness, the schedule displayed Apollonia. However, the instructor who arrived was Lilia. It's quite surprising that this club wouldn't update the class instructors properly.
Lilia just shouts and yells, sticking to the same routine without providing a good cardio session. We need Lynn back!

I've been going to this gym for years now, and I must say, it can be quite a struggle to get a good upper body workout due to the limited availability of free weights and benches. The stair climbers are often out of order, with only four in total. Despite the increasing number of members, the gym fails to invest in additional functional equipment. Additionally, the men's sauna is frequently not hot enough and cramped, leading to a rather intimate experience as we all squeeze into a 200sq foot room, catching a whiff of our own musk.
Nicole Ross (6/9/25, 5:17 AM):
If ya intend on swingin' by durin' the week and ya don't show up at them specific times when the gym ain't too crowded, or, heaven forbid, ya swing by durin' peak hours (4 - 8pm), then ya better wish yerself some good luck tryna get a workout in a reasonable amount of time. Ya'll be shelling out over $30 a month just to spend most of yer time at the gym waitin' for equipment to free up. Weekends, early mornings, mid-day, and late nights are the only times when I've had any luck findin' equipment available. Not convenient at all if ya got other obligations, let me tell ya.

I obtained an official pass to give the gym a go and embarked on a 30-minute drive to reach there. Upon my arrival at 06:30, I was informed that I could not enter as my pass was not activated, and that I would have to wait until the manager showed up at 08:30.
The lady at the reception mentioned that this policy is stated on the LA Fitness official website, but upon checking, I could find no such information. There was no indication on the pass itself that it needed to be activated after 08:30.
She insisted that I pay $20 in order to access the Gym. I clarified that I did not have any means of payment on me. I find it rather unjust for a potential customer to drive for 30 minutes to the Gym only to be instructed to wait for 2 hours or return at another time.

My wife and I attend the Zumba class led by LDIA I. every Tuesday. Her classes are truly captivating as they combine exercise with dance, allowing us to have a great time and break a sweat at the same time. LDIA I. is incredibly welcoming and makes sure everyone feels included, even those new to Zumba. Personally, I find that I burn around 550 calories during her class, which is fantastic. I wholeheartedly recommend her classes to anyone looking for a fun and effective workout.

Absolutely adore this LA Fitness in Valencia, had a bit of a rough time at the Canyon Country gym where my car got broken into, so now I exclusively frequent the one in Valencia. Just wanted to give a heads up to fellow LA Fitness goers in Canyon Country.
Roy Bennett (6/2/25, 7:55 PM):
For sure, this gym offers way more facilities and room compared to the other two spots here in SCV. I personally find the layout much better too. Even during peak times, there always seems to be a similar station or dumbbell available for use. This has become my go-to gym spot for sure.
Hannah Long (6/2/25, 3:49 PM):
Shayla really impressed us with her exceptional service at the gym. She was multitasking like a pro, smoothly managing membership scans and phone calls at the front desk. We truly felt well looked after in her capable hands.
Jerry Baker (6/1/25, 9:23 AM):
Just reactivated me gym membership 'ere after two years. I 'ave been to la fitnesses all over LA and LA county, and this one's truly the best. They 'ave multiple benches and cardio machines to use. Big shout-out to Gail, the manager of sales, for keepin' 'er word. Cheers mate!
Shirley Brown (6/1/25, 8:20 AM):
Plenty of gear at the gym, with 10% displaying various defects like malfunctioning buttons or TVs. Approximately 30% of the gents' lockers show signs of damage, yet they remain usable. Although shower stall curtains have been prone to tearing or disappearing, there hasn't been an incident in weeks - perhaps they apprehended the vandals? Personally, I've never experienced theft, although staff mentioned a previous case. The atmosphere is generally welcoming, with friendly individuals around.
Timothy Ortiz (5/30/25, 12:37 AM):
I've visited several LA Fitni locations across the city and this one is my favorite by far. The locker room is spacious, the sauna is delightful, and there is a wide variety of workout equipment which helps keep waiting times to a minimum. It's conveniently situated in a shopping center with numerous dining options and plenty of parking space.
Randy Flores (5/29/25, 12:24 PM):
I am a gym member, and I visited this facility twice last week on Tuesday and Friday. To my surprise, when I returned today, I was informed that my children were not permitted in the gym. Interestingly enough, during my visits last week, I observed other members with their children inside the gym area, not the designated kids' section. This inconsistency in enforcing the rules raises concerns about the fairness of their business practices. It seems like this establishment selectively enforces its policies depending on the individual. Regrettably, I have decided not to continue my patronage at this location.
Christian Phillips (5/28/25, 9:17 AM):
I'm quite pleased with this gym. The staff is rather friendly and helpful. The gym itself is quite massive, with plenty of space. Some machines could use a bit more cleaning, but that's not a major issue for me. Overall, I would highly recommend it, take that as you will. Cheers!
Jeremy Martinez (5/28/25, 9:16 AM):
This place is absolutely fabulous, just like many others in the SCV. It's one of the tidiest and best-run places I've ever visited. Plus, the membership fees are very reasonable.
Daisy Baker (5/25/25, 2:46 PM):
Just registered for the aqua fit class at the gym. The instructor was brilliant. Noticing my movement disability, she kindly offered tailored guidance to suit my needs. The changing rooms and locker area were spotless, and the showers and bathrooms were well-maintained too. Top-notch facilities all around!
Joan Morgan (5/25/25, 10:26 AM):
I do apologize, but it is expected that individuals working at the front desk, like Megan, should demonstrate courtesy and politeness towards all callers. I received a response of "obviously!" when I inquired about something, and was told, "there is no one here to help you!" It is understandable if she was having a difficult day, however, it is unacceptable to overhear her making negative comments about others when she believed I was on hold. This conduct is simply impolite.
Janice White (5/23/25, 1:19 AM):
The gym is decent, but it could use a bit more tidying up. Every time I've worked out there, I've noticed weights lying around on the floor, and the staff just walks right by without picking them up. Also, the equipment could use some updating as the bars have very minimal grip.
