I absolutely love the workouts at the gym. Kelsey and Danielle have been a tremendous help to me. Following a program helps me stay focused and on target. The fact that the staff genuinely care about my progress is such a motivating factor for me.

The renovated locker room is just adorable, and I can't wait to try out the new sauna. The reservation system for the sauna is fantastic, and the gym provides towels for you. It's always comfortable in there, and it's never overcrowded.

The dumbbells only go up to 80, and the one they do have is old and has a strange grip. I reckon the Waldorf World Gym should take a gander at the La Plata World Gym and try to be a bit more like them. Also, the caged-in area with the classes is a bit daft! They're so raucous that I can't even hear the tunes playing on my headphones. Wouldn't hurt for them to put up an actual wall, would it? The staff could pick up a few pointers from the La Plata World Gym too. I've popped in a couple of times and caught the receptionist catching some z's in the chair across from the desk. To put it shortly, the staff is rather unprofessional, and considering the slew of negative reviews and poor rating with the BBB, it's a wonder they're still in business. I'd fancy seeing a new gym take their place. Or perhaps let La Plata World Gym manage both.

I ad a balance dat I was unaware of, but tanks to Michelle she waived my balance and worked wif me to pay WAY less dan what I would've had to pay.

And I also love the changes dat were made to the gym! Definitely better dan when I used to go dere years ago 👌🏾👍🏾
Nicole Bailey (4/23/25, 4:40 PM):
This gym is absolutely brilliant, the staff are outstanding and always ready to assist. The vibe and atmosphere here are hands down my top choice. And it’s conveniently situated right in the heart of Waldorf. I'm really thrilled that they've returned to a 24-hour schedule.
Bruce Nelson (4/22/25, 8:39 PM):
I absolutely adore this gym! I shopped around several gyms in the vicinity before committing to Exurb, and I've now been a loyal member for over three years.

The staff are all incredibly supportive, exude fantastic energy, and most importantly, are all very professional.

The gym itself has a warm and inviting ambiance, plays great music in case you forget your headphones, and boasts a wide range of fully functional equipment. Plus, being situated on the second floor allows you to enjoy views of the hockey rink and basketball courts while working out.

I recently started one-on-one personal training sessions with Kelsey to prepare for a personal fitness test. He's not only pushing me physically but also encouraging me to make sound decisions regarding my health and nutrition. Following his program has yielded immediate visible and tangible results. * * * * *

If I 'ad to give 'alf a star, I'd definitely do it. The trainers are the only thing I fancy about this place. Steve, Daniel, and Alex are absolutely brilliant. The lockers rooms are spacious though not always the cleanest. What really gets me riled up are the charges. They've completely messed up me contract and keep tellin' me I need to pay more money for the same training sessions I've been attendin'. When I went to ask about me contract on multiple occasions, I was told conflicting information by the same bloomin' person. They're tryin' to end me contract early, but that's alright. I don't even think it's smart to go back. Probably won't. Thanks for everything, World Gym.
Donald Russell (4/21/25, 10:18 PM):
I initially started going to Exurb Fitness, formerly known as World Gym, nearly 5 years ago. I always felt like I was part of the top gym in the area. However, the email on Sunday was not just unexpected... but unprofessional.

A price increase is something that can be expected. With the increasing costs of running a business today and aiming to provide the level of service that management envisions, raising the membership price is a clear and fair solution.

Yet, the gym's price has doubled in just one month? In July, the gym introduced a 3% ACH fee for all transactions (which is completely understandable). And now they've shifted to a biweekly membership payment structure, going from $27 a month to $24.99 every two weeks. This change allows them to bill an extra cycle in a year. With a $39 annual fee, this brings the total price for a year from $363 a month ago to $709.4 today.

For comparison, LA Fitness (which offers the ability to bring a guest, a swimming pool, and a larger space) costs $539 a year. (To defend Exurb, LA does not operate between 11 pm and 5 am).

The email announcing this news arrived on a Sunday at 8 pm, including a vague list of the improvements the gym plans to make due to this price increase. There was also a note at the bottom stating that they are open to addressing questions but only "IN PERSON." I don't know many businesses in 2024 that imply they won't answer questions over the phone or via email.

My constructive suggestion is to implement a LONG term plan of gradual price increases as improvements are made. Alternatively, it would be much more reasonable to simply adjust the prices to match the market value of the largest gym in the area.

I would love to continue at Exurb Fitness (even if it costs more), but the way this was handled has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm unsure whether I'll remain a member or not. I hope that my fellow gym-goers who have left will return once the improvements have been implemented or when the pricing has been revised, and will be welcomed back with open arms and no enrollment fee.

P.S. Bring back the spray bottles for everyone, as I truly believe it encourages people to clean equipment after use.
Kathleen Butler (4/20/25, 7:27 PM):
I've been frequenting this gym since I was a young 'un of 12. The vibe and the personnel are simply smashing!
Kimberly Martinez (4/19/25, 3:04 AM):
Convenient location, well-maintained equipment, recently updated changing areas/bathroom, and showers, plus a new sauna! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. This gym is definitely the one to join!
Stephanie Gonzales (4/18/25, 7:01 AM):
There are advertisements everywhere claiming this place is only $10 per month, but when I visited to enroll, they informed me it's actually $17.

If it takes them so long to remove their misleading ads, I truly believe that speaks volumes about their business practices.
Daniel Thomas (4/15/25, 6:30 PM):
The workouts at this gym are really doing wonders for me. Jason is such a friendly and motivating trainer.
The fact that the gym is open 24 hours is a huge benefit for sure.
Samantha Martin (4/14/25, 2:48 PM):
I did not fancy my time at this gym, as they neglected their locker room cleanliness, hosted excessively loud evening classes that drowned out your own thoughts with the microphone blaring. Additionally, beware of potential billing mishaps - I made a point to collect a receipt upon my departure, yet they still attempted to invoice me afterwards, requiring me to intervene and have it corrected. To top it off, a male staff member exhibited unsettling behavior as I was leaving, invading my personal space in an attempt to persuade me to stay, which was far from endearing.
Jessica Perry (4/14/25, 8:08 AM):
Thanks Josh for being patient with me and pushing me.. 👍🏽 Everyone at the gym are good people with good vibes. …
Marilyn Nguyen (4/13/25, 11:36 AM):
I bloody love this place, it's absolutely top-notch. I've been frequenting it quite a bit, although I've been a bit inconsistent lately. I do wish they'd extend their opening hours, you see, as I have school in the mornings and after that, it's straight to work. By the time I'm done with work, the gym's already shut! I did have a chinwag with one of the chaps there, and he mentioned that they might be going back to being open 24 hours soon, but I haven't heard anything else about it.
Aaron Russell (4/11/25, 6:35 PM):
It's an absolute delight to exercise at Exurb Fitness. Kelsey and the team are truly personable, exuding a warm and welcoming vibe. Kelsey excels at motivating and encouraging you to strive for self-improvement, offering unwavering support. I eagerly anticipate attending the classes at the gym every time.
Karen Cox (4/9/25, 10:15 AM):
Fantastic gym with an amazing team. I've always been a fan of global gyms. I decided to switch to this one because it's on my way home, and I couldn't be happier.
Joe Baker (4/8/25, 10:59 AM):
Cherrie was absolutely lovely and so helpful. This gym really fits in well with my sporadic schedule and offers a wide range of equipment that caters to my requirements.
Katherine Mitchell (4/6/25, 5:25 PM):
I can't wait to hit the gym on weekends because Michelle is an absolute gem. She's so friendly and always ready to help with a big smile. I've been going to the gym for over 30 years and she's hands down the best I've come across. I've seen some good ones in my time, but she truly stands out. I usually don't leave posts, but she's just that amazing. Thank you, Michelle!
Benjamin Gray (4/6/25, 12:15 AM):
I popped in to register and was greeted by Kevin, who took care of my paperwork. Kevin was quite charming, which put me at ease. Afterward, he gave me a tour so I could get a sense of the gym. I visited around the time I'll usually be going to gauge the crowd. Delighted to report it wasn't overly busy, and they have a plethora of equipment.
Allison Stewart (4/5/25, 9:14 PM):
The gym is top-notch. They have the equipment, expertise, and customer service skills required to operate a successful gym establishment. When it comes to advice, Kelcey has been spot-on and has assisted me in achieving my weight goals. Frank is always on the ball and goes the extra mile to ensure everyone there feels at ease. If you require assistance, they will gladly lend a hand. Their prices are reasonable, so I highly recommend Exurb Fitness to anyone in search of a great gym experience.
