Top spot to train MMA or BJJ. Top-notch facility with top trainers. The most professionally operated gym you'll come across.
After a month of being a member, I must say I am pleasantly surprised. The folks here are much friendlier and more helpful than I had anticipated. Honestly, I checked out other places first because I thought this one was just for high-level MMA fighters. While there are definitely skilled athletes here, most of the people are regular folks like myself. I'm your typical middle-aged guy who's a bit overweight and looking for something more physically challenging.
As a complete beginner, the coaches have been really supportive and willing to chat and work with you after class. They welcome all levels of skill and fitness, encouraging everyone to push themselves at their own pace. There's no sense of superiority or bullying here; they're just happy to see you putting in the effort to better yourself. Whether you're older, overweight, not very athletic, or a competitive athlete, you'll feel at home here.
Safety and cleanliness are always top priorities, and the rates are quite reasonable compared to other places. The only downside I've come across so far is the limited parking space. Overall, my experience has been great, and I plan on keep coming back.
I 'ad me trainin' 'ere fer about 3 months last summer in Boxing and Muay Thai. I 'ave plenty o' experience in other gyms, and this one is unforgettable. Great atmosphere, great athletes who are eager to learn, beginner friendly, and amazin' coaches and staff. I will be back 'ere again startin' in April and I can't wait!
I moved to Idaho three years ago and began training at SBG shortly after. The staff and coaching at SBG Idaho have been outstanding. My son has been participating in their children's jiu-jitsu program for the past two years, and I am truly thankful for the dedication and support they have shown him. Whether you're an adult seeking to improve your fitness or have children in need of a positive activity, this is the place to be. Many thanks to all the staff for spreading their enthusiasm within the Boise community.
Absolutely smashing gym, top-notch coaches and a cracking community of members. I've been having a jolly good time. As a bloke in a proper office job, this gym has really helped me shift from being a desk-dwelling champ to being back in shape with a renewed zest for life. I'll tell you what, that review moaning about the terms and conditions is a right numpty. The staff here are ever so accommodating. From my own experiences, they bend over backwards to work around your holidays and even offer extensions (which they don't have to do, mind you). Make sure you read the fine print and understand what you're getting into. This gym is top-notch, a real class act. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
I've been training at this here place for over 3 years now and I must say I feel right lucky to have stumbled upon it. It's a grand gym, but it's got that cozy small gym vibe where the atmosphere is welcoming, friendly, and downright jolly. When I first walked in, I didn't know a soul nor a thing about martial arts, but before long, I had made some of my closest mates. They've got a top-notch beginners program, so you won't find yourself lost or out of your depth. The coaches are patient, kind, knowledgeable, and always willing to lend a helping hand. I get to spar with a right diverse bunch, from high-level black belts to folks just starting out, and I can honestly say, anyone would feel right at home here. Cheers!
The best MMA gym in the state, also a fantastic place for women and kids to train. Jesse is me favorite wrestling coach in the whole wide world 🌎 …
I felt right at home as I walked in. The team was very welcoming. I reckon there's a reason why SBG is the top martial arts studio in the area.
The chaps at Combat Fitness Boise are absolutely smashing! I'm a newbie to the world of MMA and Matt was jolly helpful and informative during my complimentary one-on-one session. I've decided to go for the basic package and have been attending the Fight Fit classes and Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
Both Jesse and Brad have been terribly encouraging and supportive as this is all rather new to me. Fight Fit is a jolly good time for getting in a proper workout.
Splendid place with top-notch folks!
My lad 'as signed up and paid fer 6 months in advance. Owin' ter unforeseen circumstances, 'e could only use the membership fer 1 month. 'E gave 'em a ring and asked if they would reckon refundin' any part of the 6 months, as it were an emergency situation, but the owner said nah. Just 'cos ye can do somethin' legally doesn't mean ye should. No flexibility or willingness ter consider extenuatin' circumstances. I wouldn't pay in advance 'ere 'cause no matter what 'appens, they won't work with ye. Very disappointin'.
I absolutely adore this dojo, mate! I pop in four times a week and it's just fantastic.
I 'ave been trainin' 'ere for about 3 years and it 'as been the best choice of me life! Great people! Great community! Love this place!
SBG is absolutely amazing! I walked in with zero experience and a bit nervous about what to anticipate. The Muay Thai classes have been absolutely addictive. Michael and Jesse are fantastic coaches. It's been an incredible journey that has ignited a true passion for martial arts. Huge thanks to SBG Idaho!
Everyone is quite knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to assist you in improving every time you attend a training session. If you have even a slight interest in practicing martial arts, I would strongly recommend visiting the gym. It's the most enjoyable way to get in shape.
I started training at CF in August 2015. When I first walked in, I had no experience in wrestling or martial arts. I used to workout at the fancy gyms in town, but I got tired of the show-off atmosphere and big egos there. CF was a different story. As soon as I stepped in, I saw familiar faces from other social circles and was warmly welcomed by everyone. I felt like I belonged right away.
I was interested in Jiu-Jitsu and joined Coach Jesse's class. Being a bigger and slower guy, I wasn't sure how well I'd do. However, during the group classes, the coaches tailored the techniques to fit my body type and fighting style. I was instantly hooked. Later on, I also started training in Striking with Coach Mike Ransom and delved deeper into BJJ with Coach Brad.
Everything about this gym is fantastic, especially the coaches, but the best part is the lack of egos. Everyone is supportive and genuinely wants to see each other improve. Combat Fitness is truly top-notch.
I've been attending combat fitness for about 3 weeks now, and the team and staff make me feel right at home. I've already learned so much and I highly recommend combat fitness to anyone looking to compete.
I found Combat Fitness to be a tremendous help to me. The trainers take the time to explain each step thoroughly and even dedicate their own time for personal classes.
The level of coaching here with Jesse, Brad, Scott, and the crew is on another level, mate.
Upon stepping into the establishment, I was warmly greeted and felt very much at home. I traveled all the way from Northern Idaho to pay a visit and had some fantastic sparring sessions. Priscilla was at the reception and cheerfully welcomed me with a smile, setting me up in no time. It was also lovely to witness the camaraderie amongst other staff members, coaches, and fellow members, who were all very friendly and welcoming!
I've been training at SBG Idaho since 2017. The owner, coaches, and staff are truly passionate about their craft and experts in their field. The atmosphere and sense of community are something I truly cherish. What I appreciate the most is not only am I having a great time, but I can also see noticeable improvements in my skills. Whether you're into Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, or Fight Fit, there's something here for everyone. In conclusion, I absolutely adore it and you can't go amiss with training at SBG!
