Absolutely spot on! We were a bit unsure about enrolling our 5-year-old son, but Professor Luis reassured us that he would be just fine and that he wasn't too young to begin. Approaching our one-year mark in October, our son absolutely adores Jiu Jitsu, especially his professors and instructors Roiter & Italo. Professor's wife Josie is also actively involved and is fantastic at addressing any queries we have. I've even decided to join the adult class myself now.

This Gracie Barra place, mate, it's honestly the worst jiu jitsu gym in the valley, hands down. It's like a McDojo, just churning out belts like they're giving away candy. They'll throw stripes at you every five visits, as long as you barely break a sweat and suck up to the coaches. And let me tell ya, they definitely play favorites over there. I had to pull my son out of classes 'cause I'm a struggling single dad and couldn't afford it anymore. The owner's missus even promised my boy a stripe if he made it to his last class, but surprise, surprise, he never got it. When I asked the professor what happened, he said my lad wasn't putting in enough effort. I mean, come on! Those so-called coaches don't teach squat, and my son was bustin' his butt showing up five times in the last three weeks. They're a bunch of dodgy blokes who only care about making a quick buck off martial arts. Save your dosh and steer clear of Gracie Barra, mate!

I began my journey at GB Ahwatukee in January 2022, just before hitting the big 5-0, and let me tell you, it was one of the best choices I've ever made. With three top-notch professors and various coaches, each bringing their own unique techniques and teaching styles to the table, every session is a new opportunity to soak up knowledge. Sparring with fellow students is always lively and educational, as we push each other to improve. The motto "If you are not winning, you are learning" truly resonates with me.
Jiu-jitsu has become an integral part of my life – the friendships, camaraderie, and support system within the academy are truly invaluable. We lift each other up, assist one another, and celebrate every achievement on the mats. I have found a true sense of belonging here, and I am immensely grateful to the professors, coaches, and fellow students who continuously aid me in reaching my jiu-jitsu goals day in and day out.

And after seeing her progress and witnessing the adult classes where they're teaching skills at such a high level, I knew I had to be a part of it too. Where does one even begin? Is it the intense training, the strong friendships, or the sense of belonging to an extended family that my own kin and I have gained in just a few short months? The training is simply phenomenal; it challenges you both physically and mentally, leaving you yearning for more time on the mats. With world-class instructors and, of course, the most exceptional professor one could hope for. Once you step inside, business talk fades away, which is truly a breath of fresh air. We, as a family, find ourselves immersed here for hours each day, and my son never wants to depart. The only improvement would be if classes were held seven days a week. ;) We hold you all dear in our hearts and eagerly anticipate delving deeper into our training. We love our Gracie Barra family.
