A bit over 2 years ago, I was seeking some motivation to keep in shape and a means to continue learning. As I was driving home, I came across Acadiana Jiu Jitsu and decided to drop by with a query. "At 72 years old, am I too mature to join classes?" Heath Henry, the proprietor and a black belt, reassured me, saying, "No. Give a free class a go and see, it's quite enjoyable." Fast forward 2 years later, shed 10 pounds, feeling more robust, and still enjoying multiple rolls each week. I've also forged friendships with many younger folks. Heath has just expanded to a new establishment in the same shopping center, which is absolutely splendid. There's something for everyone: children, teenagers, and adult classes in jiu-jitsu, yoga, and mixed martial arts. Indeed, the venue is air-conditioned and the instructors are truly outstanding. Be sure to pay them a visit.

Choosing this place was definitely the right call!

Richard Bennett (4/9/25, 5:09 PM):
My lad truly adores his ju jitsu classes at this spot. We make a 40-minute drive (each way) to get to Acadiana Jiu Jitsu. At first, we talked about finding somewhere nearer. But after a few visits and witnessing the coaches' sincere dedication to their students and helping them reach their full potential, we've decided to stay with them. Undoubtedly, they are the finest bunch of coaches.

Without a doubt, the top choice in Lafayette and the nearby areas. The instructors are absolutely fantastic, they truly have a passion for what they do and for their students. The prices are unbeatable in town. I would recommend them 10 out of 10 times. Their new facility is spacious and has a great balance of girls and boys.
Brandon Ortiz (4/7/25, 11:08 AM):
Enrolling my son in Jiu Jitsu at Acadiana Jiu Jitsu has been one of the best decisions I've made as a parent. After signing him up for the free class, I immediately knew it was the right choice and enrolled him right after. It's only been a month, but I can already see significant positive changes in him. Apart from Jiu Jitsu and self-defense skills, they also instill values like respect. I am incredibly thankful for the dedicated staff and coaches at the school. I wholeheartedly recommend taking advantage of the free class offer to experience firsthand how fantastic it is!
Joe Sullivan (4/7/25, 4:08 AM):
I can't sing the praises of Acadiana Jujitsu and its staff enough! My son, Waylon, is 3 years old and quite strong-willed. He was having trouble following directions and sitting still in general, but the staff and coaches have been incredibly helpful. After just 3 weeks, we noticed a significant improvement - he's like a different child 2 months in. Yes, he's still an energetic 3-year-old boy, but he has learned patience, skills in self-defense, and much more. We can't speak highly enough about "Jitsu."
Shirley Anderson (4/6/25, 4:43 PM):
My little princess began her jujitsu journey 3 years in the past, and as she nears her 8th birthday, jujitsu has truly transformed her world. She can't stop chattering about jujitsu; her aspiration is to become a jujitsu teacher and establish her very own dojo. Her outlook is splendid, taking satisfaction in all her endeavors. She's imbibed invaluable life lessons, discipline, and a spirit of competition from the mentors at Acadiana Jujitsu. Heath Henry, the owner and jujitsu black belt, has a unique way of imparting knowledge that ensures kids, teenagers, and adults have a blast while embracing the art he adores. Heath and his colleagues Clayton, Emma, and Justin have cultivated a welcoming environment in Scott, Louisiana, where any parent would feel delighted to enroll their child. Witnessing their sessions intrigued me so much that I've recently joined the adult class to learn alongside my daughter. This decision has not only helped me shed some weight but has also allowed me to relish working out with wonderful individuals. Jujitsu has become an integral part of my family's routine, and at Acadiana Jujitsu, they effortlessly make you feel like part of their family. If you desire for your child to acquire self-defense skills, get fit, foster personal development, and indulge in heaps of enjoyment, do visit Heath and the team at Acadiana Jujitsu. I assure you, you won't regret it!
Paul Ortiz (4/5/25, 5:21 AM):
It's quite delightful observing the instructors instructing the pupils on how to navigate various life challenges on the mat. I've witnessed my son develop the skills to confront adversity within a secure and nurturing setting.
