I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to train with Max right here in Maynard. Not only does he possess the knack for furnishing a tailored and efficient workout regime, but he also exudes immense kindness, patience, and empathy towards all his clients.

After grappling for numerous years to progress beyond the novice phase in lifting and strength training, and to break the cycle of consistently undereating, I found my way to Max's studio. Barely a minute into our initial consultation, I had a strong intuition that I had stumbled upon the perfect place. Fast forward 1.5 years of training, I have increased my body weight from 180 to 205 pounds, can now effortlessly deadlift weights in the 400s, squat over 250 for multiple repetitions, and have achieved personal milestones like mastering an L-sit. Throughout my journey with Max, I have triumphed over countless mental and physical obstacles. I absolutely adore it here!!!

Oh, splendid news, old chap! Max at Big Work has truly been a game-changer in reshaping my gym routine and attitude towards working out. This is my second stint training with Max. After getting a bit off course during the pandemic, I returned to him with the intention of rediscovering my love for the gym. Following 3 months of training, I now eagerly anticipate my weekly workouts and have been seeing fantastic progress. As a lady, I am quite selective about my workout partners. Max fosters a safe environment, exudes professionalism, provides great motivation, and is highly knowledgeable. He tailors challenging yet achievable workouts and adjusts our plan based on my input. So I started chatting with Max Gordon towards the end of 2017 and finally began training in early 2018 after going through a bilateral lung transplant and some other major surgeries. We knew that rebuilding my strength would be a lengthy journey, but one thing that stood out was the dedication Max Gordon put into carefully planning our program and understanding my complex medical history to assist me in achieving my goals. From that point on, it was one Max training another Max. Over the next 4 years, we worked through numerous hospital stays, setbacks, and various challenging life events. If you're seeking a trainer who will delve deep with you into the trenches, not only guiding your body but also your mind, and supporting you in every possible way, then Max Gordon at Big Work Training Studio is the one for you. I am and forever will be thankful for all the solid training days we've shared and for witnessing a lifelong friendship blossom from that experience. Although we may no longer reside close by, he has equipped me with the skills to train on my own safely and effectively, to pursue my future health objectives and continue living my best possible life. Max Billings-Gordon is an absolute gem of a personal trainer and fitness guru! I reached out to Max initially to focus on shedding some pounds, and boy, did he deliver. His sessions were invigorating and inspiring, pushing me beyond my limits. As time went on, Max also steered me towards powerlifting, where I triumphed in my weight class at my debut competition! His drive and commitment motivate his clients to strive for excellence. Although our paths have diverged since then, Max has remained a valuable resource for workouts and nutrition advice online. I can't express enough gratitude for Max, his unwavering dedication to fitness, and his fervor for helping others reach their full potential. Truly a force to be reckoned with!

As a fitness professional meself, it can be a bit tricky to find the time and motivation to stay on top of yer own fitness goals. After a long day of one-on-one coaching and programming, the last thing ya want to do is more of the same, but for yourself. A little trade secret about us trainers and coaches: we’re all our own worst clients and athletes.

This be where I turn to Max at Big Work Training. Max be one of the few people I trust to write programs for me. He always listens to me current goals and injury history and takes them into account when designing workouts for me. I also use him as a resource to help correct me form if I feel like something be off and can't quite pinpoint it. For example, I be not all that familiar with proper technique on the SkiErg. I had Max take a look and within minutes I be feeling much smoother and more comfortable.

I can't recommend Max enough for anyone, from beginners or young athletes just looking to get in better shape or improve their sports performance, to more experienced lifters trying to take their fitness to the next level.

I 'ad the pleasure o' workin' wi' Max both in person and online fer a number o' years and I can't stress enough 'ow amazin' 'e is. Max 'as a knack fer motivatin' ya to push that extra step, to squat another squat, an' shows ya that yer 'ealth can be a priority. Max took me through learnin' 'ow to powerlift from scratch, competin' in a competition, an' then continuin' to lift safely through two pregnancies. Each session 'e showed immense enthusiasm an' 'elped me find me physical potential. It don't matter if you're workin' wi' Max at the gym at 6AM, 7PM, or online. 'E gives ya 100% all the time.

Max 'as taught me the fundamentals that I still build off of today. 'E 'as 'elped propel me to where I want to be fitness wise. Always answering my questions on work outs, plans, diet, supplements, ideas, etc. I know other people can say the same thing. 'E 'ad shown me 'ow to effectively work out and work out correctly (i.e. proper form, weight, set/rep, variations, and rest). Looking forward to our next encounter together. Highly recommend!

Max is the best, I must say. I had the pleasure of training with him before he sadly departed from upstate NY. With my busy schedule, his sessions were my sole source of workouts, and I noticed a significant difference in my body after just a few weeks. If you're in search of a trainer, I highly recommend Max. I certainly would continue training with him if given the chance!
