Jessica Taylor (5/1/25, 1:31 AM):
I say, quite disappointed I was indeed, took my wee niece and nephew for a spot of swimming today at the Recreation center, I did. Thought it would be a jolly good time, you see.

Let my nephew frolic and splash about in the grand pool, I did, while my son and niece were to play in the kiddie pool. At 34 weeks pregnant, I couldn't manage to keep an eye on both in the big pool, you see. My son, bless him, at 14 months old, couldn't quite stand or amuse himself in the kiddie pool on his own. And with not many other children around, I sat down with him to help him get accustomed to the water and have a bit of playtime.

But what do you know, I was promptly told that I couldn't sit in the pool! I wasn't causing a ruckus, mind you. It wasn't even crowded! I could have understood if they were busy or if my little one could manage in the water without my assistance.

Alas, we were practically forced to vacate. It was dreadfully warm to just sit with me feet in the water. So yes, rather disheartened I am to have spent $5 for a mere sun-soaking session, I must say.

We were at the recreation center with a 4 year old. She absolutely adored it. The facilities were wonderfully maintained and immaculate. Kids of various age ranges were having a blast, and there were ample seating areas for grown-ups to relax and supervise their little ones.
John Hamilton (4/29/25, 11:07 PM):
I absolutely adore this spot! It would be even more splendid if they were to introduce clubs like a soccer club or a chess club. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoy the recreational facilities and outdoor courts. Please do consider establishing clubs in the future. Cheers!
Keith Young (4/29/25, 1:03 AM):
Top summer camp for the little ones. The staff was amazing, they took great care of my boy with a fantastic attitude.
Samuel Moore (4/27/25, 11:43 PM):
Fantastic spot to bring the kiddos! Enormous play area, tennis courts, swimming pool, and so much more to enjoy.
Brandon Jenkins (4/27/25, 11:42 AM):
I do visit the park at Coomes Center quite often with my child and pup. Today, while taking my dog for a walk, I was not aware that dogs were not permitted on the walking trail. There were no signs indicating this, so as I strolled with my canine companion, a rather impolite staff member approached me, raising their voice and insisting that I leave as dogs were not allowed on the trail. I promptly comprehended the situation, apologized for my unawareness, and promptly left the trail to walk through the grass instead. Despite this, the employee yelled once more, demanding that I remove my dog immediately. I found their hostile conduct to be entirely unjustified. As I made my way out of the park, she stood there watching me the whole time. Although I apologized for my lack of knowledge regarding the no-dog policy and adhered to their instructions, I felt their extremely rude and unwelcoming behavior was unwarranted. This experience has left me feeling hesitant about returning to the Coomes Center in the future.

We 'ad a party planned 'ere fer me son's birthday. We were called today and given less than a 48 hour notice that the party was canceled due to Covid. We understand it's a safety issue and we absolutely get tryin' to protect everyone. But less than 2 days notice is a terrible inconvenience. Less than 2 days to find somewhere else because we've already ordered the cake and food. They are still open Monday-Friday, just closed Saturdays for safety. Also we will not get our refund that we 'ad already paid for this party for 3-4 weeks. I am very disappointed in this establishment, the unprofessionalism we experienced today is uncalled for. Sharing as a warning for others.
Samuel Barnes (4/25/25, 11:39 AM):
We absolutely adore it. The children simply can't get enough. A vast outdoor playground, tennis courts, a skate park, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a basketball court - all at your disposal. Come summertime, they even provide swim lessons. It's a splendid spot for individuals of all ages to engage in some playtime!
Andrew Phillips (4/25/25, 7:16 AM):
My fam'ly loves the Coomes centre, there be somethin' fer all. All day amusement. Splendid play area that fosters fancy.
Michael Robinson (4/25/25, 2:20 AM):
I've been there several times. I used to exercise on the machines, walk on the indoor track, swim in the indoor pool, and bring my daughter to play there. They used to host a fantastic Fourth of July celebration with lots of vendors and live bands. And once it got dark, they put on a spectacular fireworks show. It's a wonderful spot for the entire family.
Ella Sanders (4/24/25, 6:46 PM):
A particular lifeguard at the open-air pool was quite rude, I must say. Nevertheless, the park is absolutely fabulous!
Gabriel Sanchez (4/24/25, 6:32 AM):
Fantastic playground. There's an older wooden area and a huge newer section suitable for children of all ages. Also, there's a lovely walking trail to enjoy.
Hannah Ford (4/23/25, 7:33 PM):
Lovely recreation center. Absolutely splendid outdoor pool. Marvelous basketball courts.
Terry Rogers (4/22/25, 6:22 AM):
Some of these negative reviews are absolutely daft and a load of codswallop. You lot don't have a clue how fortunate you are. Folks in most parts of the USA shell out $10,000 - $15,000 a year or even more just to have access to a cracking good pool like that. Count your lucky stars. It's a top-notch facility and an absolute steal by any other measure. The staff have never been anything but polite to me and my kin. Stop all this moaning, I implore you!
Vincent Diaz (4/19/25, 2:16 PM):
Honestly, this recreation center is simply a splendid spot to take a dip, exercise, and let your little ones frolic about. I highly recommend it without a doubt.
Angela Walker (4/18/25, 8:44 AM):
The sole reason I frequent this establishment is due to its proximity to my residence. The operational hours of the outdoor pool are absurd, rendering it impossible to enjoy a swim indoors while the outdoor facility remains open. Moreover, this year's lack of concessions and the infrequent presence of promised food trucks are disappointing. I am dismayed by the decision to close the outdoor pool midweek in August. Additionally, the inadequate training of lifeguards necessitates constant vigilance from parents to ensure the safety of their children.
Eugene Long (4/18/25, 8:00 AM):
I would not recommend this pool to anyone. Make sure that when you're there, you do not utter a single curse word, for if you do, four cops will show up in a flash. I simply let out a few profanities to my family, when suddenly a lifeguard overheard me. Before I knew it, I was being approached by a quartet of cops as if I were a hardened criminal. There are certainly much better pools to visit! Women are allowed to roam around nearly naked without issue, but I can't express a few choice words to my own family without being escorted out by the authorities. Save yourself the trouble. Furthermore, children are not permitted to wear floaties in the deep end, only in the shallow end. This rule sparked all the commotion in the first place.
Jose Wright (4/17/25, 7:19 PM):
Brilliant spot for a dip! Loads of lifeguards on duty and they've got life jackets in case you've left yours behind.
Walter Hamilton (4/17/25, 1:29 AM):
The staff and facilities at this place are absolutely brilliant. I can't think of many towns that provide such a fantastic recreation center like this one. There are indoor and outdoor pools, along with a spacious indoor basketball court complete with a track above it. They also have a wide range of classes on offer.
Denise Hall (4/17/25, 12:31 AM):
Absolutely adore this pool! They actually let you bring your own floats as well!! Not many public pools allow that, you know.
