If I could, I would give it 0 stars because of how frustrated I am. As a Christian myself, I try to help others even when I need help myself. The YMCA claims to be: "The YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to put CHRISTIAN principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all." To be a “CHRISTIAN” also means to be honest and fair. I have had my membership for YEARS while I was married. Then I went through a divorce and had a membership with my four children that I was only able to cancel just now. I went through a lot of struggles, and I was not able to use my membership for over a year. When I went to cancel my membership, I asked if I could at least be refunded for 6 months (I saw online while searching that they can do this if there is a legitimate reason). I was only asking for a refund for 6 months out of all those months I couldn't use their services at all, but the lady at the front desk (“Amber G”) told me with a sarcastic attitude and a smirk on her face as if I was lying to her or something. It seemed “funny” to her that she didn't know where I saw that information, but they do not do refunds according to her, even though she claimed to have been there for 6 years, though I had never seen her before 😳. The YMCA continued to charge me for the membership I couldn't even use every month, sometimes even leaving me in overdraft. At some point during all this time, I had no car or phone to cancel this sooner. So be careful, and if you notice that you haven’t used their services and won’t be able to do so anytime soon, make sure you cancel. They took over $500 from me as a single mother, and I couldn’t even get $200-$250 back for the services I never even used at any of their facilities!!! Please Be and Do Better for your community, especially for those who can prove to be speaking truth and not lies. May God Bless You and show you truth…
