This place is a joke, they coax you into buying tickets and then refuse to accept them.
It would be splendid if they could commence punctually! 10 minutes have elapsed and we are still awaiting....
For sure, this is my top spot for yoga! It's not your typical yoga experience, but the fast pace really helps me let go of all my worries. I always leave feeling in a much better mood! Would highly recommend it to anyone looking to give a unique style of yoga a try.
I absolutely adore Hope! It's utterly fantastic, and so are the teachers. I feel splendid every time I depart! It's been quite some time since I've felt this positive about myself and been inspired to rise and exercise/stretch. I would wholeheartedly suggest it to anyone seeking a space to focus on themselves and feel incredible.
I absolutely adore this yoga studio!! I've been a regular here for 3 years and honestly, it provides the most invigorating workout I've ever experienced! My top two favorite instructors are Brittany & Julie! Some people might be hesitant about the hip hop & rap music mix they play, but as a member of the younger generation, I wouldn't have it any other way. After scanning through these comments, I've observed that all the negative feedback is coming from older individuals...this isn't your typical yoga session! This style of yoga puts a modern spin on things, and if you can't handle it, then perhaps it's not for you :) I'm truly saddened that Buti classes will no longer be offered because they were one of my favorites!! This studio has not only helped me navigate through life's challenges; it has also cleared my mind and made me feel healthy and empowered. Long live yoga!
My experience was rather underwhelming, I must say. I found myself quite distracted by the instructor's alignment, to the point where I had the urge to go up and adjust her myself. Fortunately, since it was my first class, I didn't have to pay. I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.
Not too shabby
Digging the fruit-infused hydration
The pup is top-notch
Lovely swift classes, yet frequently quite packed, one can't lay eyes on the instructor unless arriving promptly to queue up, and the sessions always kick off at least 10 minutes behind schedule due to the constant influx of attendees. (pre-pandemic observation)
This is without a doubt the most dreadful yoga class I've ever attended, as well as the most abysmal group fitness class. I participate in classes through ClassPass in NYC five times a week, with at least one of those sessions dedicated to yoga.
What is being taught here at Hope cannot be classified as Yoga. They have concocted some sort of mishmash between a HIIT class and a Hot Yoga class, leading participants to believe they are undergoing a vigorous workout due to the profuse sweating by the end. In truth, it is the hot room that induces the sweat, as the workout itself is inadequately instructed. I found myself contemplating whether the instructors are even certified yoga teachers, as there was a complete lack of flow, and the overcrowded room prevented any possibility of maneuvering to correct postures. Furthermore, they didn't even provide the instructor with a microphone. Instead, she had to yell over the music, which was simply bothersome.
Having attended a couple of spin classes across the street at LA Spin, I must say that Dartmouth and New Bedford are brimming with potential. If a fitness professional were to establish studios that truly focus on proper form and alignment while delivering an effective workout, I believe both Hope and LA Spin would soon face stiff competition in this area.
I must start by saying that I do enjoy the practice of yoga as it allows me to unwind and relax while still getting a good workout. However, the experience at this particular yoga class was quite different. To begin with, the session started approximately 10 minutes behind schedule (not ideal, but these things happen, I suppose), which didn't leave a great first impression. Prior to the class commencing, there was an excessive amount of loud chatter among those around me, and many individuals had their phones out throughout the entire session, something I had not witnessed in a yoga studio before.
Furthermore, the sequences of movements were executed at a rapid pace, with little to no instruction provided on proper technique by the instructor. I found myself glancing at others nearby, concerned that someone might injure themselves due to lack of guidance. These were not basic poses by any means. Lastly, the music was blaringly loud and the instructor had to shout to be heard over it, leading to a rather disruptive and irritating environment. While I did break a sweat, if you are seeking a yoga class where you can focus on your practice and leave feeling relaxed, this may not be the best fit for you.
I do say, I do wish I could give a rating of 0 stars. There are quite a few other places to partake in yoga, so I do advise you to keep a safe distance from Hope and especially from the owner of Hope!
Could you please lower the volume of your sound system? We were hoping to enjoy our dinner outdoors, but hearing your instructor all the way from our yard two blocks away is quite bothersome. It's not much better when we're inside the house either. Thank you in advance for reducing the noise.
Absolutely adore this place! Top-notch workout, superb instructors! Only if it were a tad closer, I’d be a regular here without fail!
Beware of her deceitful marketing tactics. She hosts Champagne gatherings at her studio to entice you into purchasing discounted classes and promises a complimentary 10-day pass upon attendance. HOWEVER, SHE DOES NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH HER PROMISES.
I absolutely adore Hope! If you're seeking traditional and dull, steer clear. But if you're after a spot where you can let loose and not worry about being judged by yoga elitists, Hope is the place for you! It's dynamic, lively, and an absolute powerhouse workout.
It's quite near the university, so if you find yourself in a real bind, it might suffice. However, I recommend venturing a bit further to locate a more satisfactory studio.
The space is rather unkempt. The floor is quite filthy, and individuals wear their footwear indoors. The mat I had to borrow emitted a foul odor and looked soiled with embedded grime. There are no props available, and very few pose modifications are suggested during sessions.
I attended a flow class that moved at a brisk pace. The instructor never glanced up to ensure the class was keeping up, nor did she provide corrections verbally. The room was too crowded for her to move around and provide hands-on adjustments. The instructor didn't bother to ask new students for their names (I assume there is a high turnover rate and it's challenging to get acquainted).
It wasn't a serene escape from the outside world. Music played throughout meditation and seated poses. Students took out their phones to text during the class. Some answered phone calls and stepped out to speak (and then returned). It felt more like being in an office environment than a yoga class.
This establishment doesn't align with my preference for a yoga studio, having visited several to draw comparisons. The pricing isn't low enough to justify the experience. I know of studios offering rates of $30 to $60 per month for students. I recommend seeking out a different yoga studio for a more fulfilling practice.
Top-notch customer service at its finest.. the moment you step inside, you feel a sense of humility and pure bliss. I refer to it as my yoga sanctuary.. MY ZEN HAVEN.
