Roy Reynolds (5/27/25, 12:10 PM):
I am feeling quite perturbed as I sit here to elucidate my rationale for a 1-star review. I am a member at Lifetime Frisco TX, a highly esteemed establishment. I urge anyone who visits to partake in the gracious southern hospitality on offer. On the contrary, my experience at Lifetime Walnut Creek CA was rather disconcerting and left me feeling quite embarrassed, as I have never encountered such unpleasantries in a professional setting before. I intend to contact the Concierge first thing on Monday, 12/18, as my experience this evening was entirely unacceptable and warranted a more respectful and dignified approach towards a member.

With Appreciation,

After some changes were made to the fitness center, I've upgraded my rating from a 2-star to a 4-star overall.

To start, the fitness center has updated their policy regarding group exercise, which is now much more reasonable. Previously, they would occupy all squat racks from 6-7 am on Wednesdays and Fridays, making it impossible for other gym-goers to use them outside of the scheduled group workout. However, they have now modified this policy so that two squat racks are always available, and they have even added an extra rack in a separate area. This change has made a significant difference for me, as I can now work on my leg exercises at 6 am without any interruptions.

Why not a perfect 5/5?:
There are a few minor issues holding the fitness center back. Some of the machines don't feel ergonomically sound or simply don't work well for me. For example, the assisted pullup machine has unconventional grips that don't suit my shoulder alignment, causing discomfort. Similarly, other upper body machines like row machines and overhead press machines have unconventional designs that feel awkward to use despite my experience in weightlifting.

Additionally, I wish there were more options for attachments, particularly single-handed cable grips. The current wide palm grip handles tend to irritate my shoulders, and I prefer skinnier handles which the club doesn't provide. It's also a bit odd that each squat rack has a landmine attachment but there are none for the barbells, limiting certain exercises like landmine rows.

While I try not to nitpick things beyond the club's control, I must mention that the club's size limitations, shortened basketball court, unheated pool, uneven flooring, limited stalls in the men's locker room, lack of information on caffeine levels in smoothies, and paid parking after 3 hours do have an impact on the overall experience.

The positives:
On a brighter note, the fitness center itself is impressive, with high-quality equipment like dumbbells, barbells, and kettlebells. The club's aesthetics are stunning, and the locker rooms are well-maintained with excellent amenities like sauna, steam room, free toiletries, and high water pressure in the showers.

Closing thoughts:
If you're looking for a top-notch gym experience with a luxurious vibe, this is the place to be. As a bodybuilder, you may find some limitations in terms of upper body attachments and machines, but the variety of classes, yoga sessions, and group exercises make up for it. Overall, a rating of 4/5 seems fitting given the current capabilities of the gym, and I enjoy my time here.

I have absolutely no clue why the reviews aren't more favorable. The establishment, gym, and services provided are truly top-notch. It brings back memories of Club One from back in the day. We're fortunate to have this gem in our midst.
Julia Gomez (5/21/25, 4:58 AM):
LifeTime Fitness in Walnut Creek is like, totally the worst gym ever, dude. The vibe there is like, so not cool, ya know? It's all toxic, with drama and gossip like it's a bad high school movie. The people running things seem clueless or way too uptight, like those "Karens" always causing a scene. Lots of us members have complained about how bad the management is - it's like the absolute worst out of all the LifeTime places.

This one manager, Jess, causes tons of problems with everyone. And lots of the front desk and bar staff keep quitting because of her and how she runs things. I mean, every two weeks someone new is gone, and sometimes they can't even keep the bar open 'cause everyone's split. It's like a total mess.

I used to be all for LifeTime, especially after my time at Laguna Niguel - that place was great with no issues. But now, Walnut Creek has totally wrecked it for me with their unprofessional ways.

If you're looking for a fancy gym in the area, I'd steer clear of LifeTime in Walnut Creek, man. Go check out Club Studio or Bay Club instead - you'll have a much better time and way better management, for sure.
Elizabeth Butler (5/19/25, 6:07 PM):
I became a member of Life Time Walnut Creek shortly after its grand opening in the fall of 2023. My family had been members at the Claremont until we moved through the tunnel in 2018, so I was thrilled when Life Time opened because it had a similar vibe. What excited me even more was starting private Pilates lessons with Emy once I signed up. I was recovering from a serious back injury and hadn't been able to participate in group Pilates for a while, but I decided to give private sessions a try. Emy has tailored our workouts to my specific comfort level, pushing me even when my back isn't feeling great so that I can still attend sessions during flare-ups while building strength and endurance. Since working with her these past few months, I've noticed a significant improvement in muscle tone and overall strength, as well as in how my clothes fit and my overall well-being. Her personalized attention and positive attitude have truly enhanced my experience at Life Time. I'm grateful for her dedication and support, and I always look forward to my gym sessions with her. Thank you, Emy, for challenging me, accommodating my needs, and for your wonderful companionship. You make my time at Life Time truly enjoyable!
Thomas Jones (5/19/25, 6:41 AM):
I absolutely adore this gym. Phenomenal ambiance, always spotless. The grub ain't half bad either.
Jerry Rodriguez (5/17/25, 1:30 PM):
Incredible schedule for group classes with high-energy instructors. My top picks (thus far!) one month in and I wish I had more time for all the things, are Zumba with Priscila, Dance Jam with Tiana, Strike with Derek, and Lift Barbell Strength with Kat and Sabrina. The gym is spotless. There are so many kind and welcoming people. You can just work out, hang out, and grab a coffee with friends. It's fantastic. Totally worth the investment. Many more amazing aspects. (Self-care) this is just a tiny snippet of it.
Henry Thomas (5/16/25, 1:33 PM):
I absolutely adore Life Time, but my experience with their spa service left much to be desired. The therapist arrived late, had me complete a form, then vanished for some time. After asking me to undress, she disappeared again for another 10 minutes. What was supposed to be a 30-minute facial ended up being just 10 minutes. It felt like a complete rip-off, to be honest.
Paul Peterson (5/16/25, 4:23 AM):
This place is an absolute waste of your money. If you're looking for proper training, don't even bother. Their lack of organization, commitment, and clarity is truly disappointing.
Madison Coleman (5/15/25, 12:02 PM):
Absolutely dreadful, my experience at the fitness center was completely disappointing.
Amber Gonzalez (5/15/25, 12:16 AM):
It's absolutely smashing when the place is spick and span and all the bits and bobs are in proper working order (the hot tub, showers, steam room, and whatnot), but alas, that hardly ever seems to be the scenario.
Karen Gray (5/14/25, 10:12 AM):
I 'ave 'ad the absolute privilege o' 'avin' Sebastian as me personal trainer fer the past 2 months. Not only 'as 'e 'elped me achieve me goals o' strengthenin' me body and losin' weight, but 'e 'as been an inspiration, a life coach, and a mate. 'E 'elped to 'old me accountable, gave me confidence that I could reach me goals, and made sure I showed up and worked 'ard at each session. Sebastian is very good at 'is job as a trainer- 'e is knowledgeable, creative, and knew 'ow to adapt each exercise to me body type and ability. 'E pushed me to strive for more and was always a positive encouragement throughout each session. This experience 'as been well worth the time and money and if I 'ad the opportunity to work with Sebastian again, I would do it in a heartbeat! Me mates and family all commented on 'ow good I looked and 'ow much positivity and energy I carry now! What a blessin' and boost to me life that I needed so bad.
Steven Morgan (5/13/25, 6:05 AM):
Big shoutout to Josie at the LifeSpa! She provided a fantastic tour of the facilities, and the spa area was impeccably maintained. The location is top-notch.
Jay, the bartender, was absolutely phenomenal! She is clearly passionate about her work, which is reflected in her stellar Old Fashioned cocktails, positive attitude, and welcoming bar setup.
I will definitely be returning to this spot!
James Hernandez (5/10/25, 12:35 AM):
They be wanting you to pay, but it seems like they be doing everything in their power to keep you from stepping foot in that place!
Arthur Hill (5/5/25, 9:11 PM):
Fantastic spot for the whole family!
Joan Torres (5/4/25, 2:13 PM):
Coffee shop: It took 30 minutes to prepare avocado toast, an egg sandwich, and a salad. It cost $49. The avocado wasn't ripe, there was wilted lettuce, and the service was terrible. I will never return. Save your money and find another place to eat.
Andrew Rivera (5/3/25, 1:51 AM):
I don’t get why some other reviewers were not happy. I'm a lifetime member in New York City and was in California visiting a friend, so we decided to check out the Walnut Creek location together. It's massive, spotless, and the staff were all very professional and friendly. Having a workout during my vacation was great, and I especially liked the recovery area with the 2 hydro chairs. I also had a delicious chicken sandwich at the café. In general, I can't think of anything that could be better.
Danielle Hayes (4/30/25, 7:36 PM):
Alexis K at the front desk really outdid herself today. She's got a knack for thinking outside the box and is an absolute delight for guests to engage with when they step into the fitness center.
Peter Long (4/29/25, 12:00 AM):
I must say, I was terribly let down by the management's handling of my membership requirements. I had intended to switch from the Bay Club to Life Time because some of my friends were making the move. In my opinion, the services and staff at Bay Club are superior to those at Life Time. It's important to support businesses that truly value their customers.
Jean Fisher (4/27/25, 7:55 PM):
Absolutely loving Life Time! The amenities are top-notch and the overall experience is fantastic.
