This here review comes under peculiar circumstances. On Monday, October 12th, 2015, the DEQ issued a "Red" air quality alert. I reckon I coach a U15 girls soccer team, and this means we were unable to practice outdoors. This left us with very few options, until Planet Fitness came to the rescue.
They kindly allowed our girls to train in their facility with very little notice. Too often them big companies forget about their communities; however, Planet Fitness has shown that they care about their community. The staff from top to bottom was overjoyed to host the girls. I was truly taken aback by the kindness that this location showed.
I was a member there for over a year, and consistently received stellar customer service. This time around, they really went out of their way to ensure our team had a place to train.
I can only endorse that as a community, we strive to support businesses that give back to the community. They could have charged us a pretty penny for 20 girls and 2 coaches to enter, but they didn't. They simply welcomed the team with open arms and a cheerful attitude.
Planet Fitness, thank you. Y'all have earned our gratitude, and I can only hope this review will bring you all the new clients y'all can handle!

After giving other gyms in the Boise area a go, I must say that Planet Fitness has become one of my top picks. The gym provides a fantastic array of equipment, a welcoming ambiance, and amiable staff. I consistently feel invigorated and inspired to get my sweat on when I step foot in this establishment. I eagerly anticipate furthering my fitness voyage at this spot!

I've been with this gym for over a year now. It's the best gym I've ever been to. The staff are top-notch. The members are respectful. The entire place is very clean and well-ventilated. The equipment is of really good quality. I'm greeted when I enter, and again when I leave... by first name. I couldn't be happier with my decision to make Planet Fitness on Overland/Orchard my gym. Thank you.
Steven Miller (5/6/25, 1:08 AM):
For the price, you can't go wrong! There's a good range of machines and stations. The app is quite handy. I'm loving it!
Patrick Torres (5/4/25, 1:13 PM):
The folks around here are truly lovely! There's this lass called Buffy who works the night shift, and she's an absolute gem. She's so kind and genuinely puts in the effort to keep the place spick and span! It's a breath of fresh air to see someone taking care to disinfect everything properly using the right chemicals. As someone who's a bit wary of germs, it really means the world to me! Massive thanks to you, Buffy!!

I 'aven't 'ad much experience with gyms, I only came 'ere because a mate recommended it. I guess it's probably not the best for body builders or anyfing like that, but for someone like me it's amazin'! I'm not a fit person and I've been comin' 'ere to try and become one. Never once 'ave I been judged, everyone is friendly, includin' the machines. The first time I went I noticed a little "you belong" on the treadmill. It's an inclusive facility with welcomin' arms open for average members of the community. If you are unfamiliar with 'ow machines work there are instructions with pictures, if you don't know what you are doing the gym offers 'elp. If you want it. I've lost ten pounds and I'm givin' the credit to this gym, their setup makes me want to keep comin' back!
Roy Johnson (4/30/25, 12:18 PM):
This establishment is consistently neat and tidy. Although it may feel a bit compact at times, the staff do a great job of maintaining cleanliness. The paper towels are always replenished, and the machines are consistently well-kept. The only improvement I would suggest for this facility is to increase the bench space in the two changing rooms. Currently, there's no designated area to place your belongings while changing except on the floor. Overall, I am quite impressed with this establishment. In comparison to Milwaukee, which tends to be dirty and dusty, I find this location much more enjoyable.
Maria Kim (4/28/25, 10:40 PM):
One of the filthiest gyms I have ever visited. Non-functional toilets and bathrooms that are never cleaned. Two or three people at the front desk, but no one bothers to clean up. Boise deserves a cleaner gym environment than this.
Lauren Gutierrez (4/28/25, 8:16 PM):
Has everything you need to exercise and improve your health. It's just up to the individual to have the motivation and make use of them.
Albert Hernandez (4/28/25, 5:49 PM):
Clean and friendly, with 4 showers that may not be as spacious as other Planet Fitness locations but still equipped for a good workout. Additionally, there is a large parking lot in the back where truck drivers can park their semis. Thank you for providing a space for truckers to park and maintain their fitness!
Catherine Patterson (4/27/25, 10:02 PM):
I've been getting billed every month for more than a year at this gym. I signed up online but never even set foot in the gym before I had to move for work. I've been paying for a black membership for a whole year without using it once. And it's IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL.
To cancel a membership, you have to close your bank account and open a new one. Why? Because they expect me to travel 1500 miles TO THE EXACT LOCATION in person to cancel. I will be embroiled in a legal battle with Planet Fitness and this specific location. BBB is involved, and so are the authorities because I've already informed them that they aren't authorized to charge my card anymore. 11 months later and they're still hitting it every month. This is gross negligence and dishonest business practices.

I am currently on a temporary assignment in Boise, and tonight I visited this Planet Fitness for the first time, as well as any Planet Fitness location. The gym is conveniently located and surprisingly clean, especially considering I arrived right after the evening rush had subsided. A friendly staff member welcomed me and explained their hours, mentioning they offer a $5 weekly fee which suits my schedule perfectly. He quickly helped me sign up, went over the check-in process for the week, and gave me a tour of the gym. I was impressed by the spacious layout with only about ten other individuals working out. There was a wide variety of cardio equipment, a designated area for stretching, numerous machines, and plenty of options for core exercises. The gym had several Smith Machines, free weights, and benches available. The only drawback for me was the absence of a dedicated bench press station, as one must utilize the Smith Machines along with a portable bench. Nonetheless, this minor inconvenience is overshadowed by the affordability of the membership.
I wholeheartedly recommend this gym, particularly to fellow travelers looking for a place to work out.
Brandon James (4/26/25, 10:33 AM):
This place is decent at best. It's got a good selection of cardio equipment. I do wish there were more free weights available, or at least more benches for using them, as there are often a few gym enthusiasts monopolizing the racks, making it tough for a lady to squeeze in some sets. The bathrooms could be cleaner, and every time I've attempted to shower there, the water has been ice cold. Lukewarm if you're lucky. I suppose it's easier to claim you have clean showers when nobody uses them because they don't want to freeze their buns off. Don't believe me? Try washing your hands with warm water. However, it's budget-friendly and conveniently located near my home. That's why I continue my membership even though it's only average. Fix the water heater, and you'll earn yourself 4 stars!
Linda Wright (4/26/25, 12:59 AM):
I 'ave been a member of Planet Fitness for about 4 years now, and I absolutely adore workin' out 'ere! The price is incredibly reasonable - I 'ave the black card which costs $20 per month, but the regular fee is $10 per month. The black card membership grants ye access to tannin', massage chairs, and the likes, and also allows ye to work out at any other Planet Fitness location in the country. The gym is a swell size with plenty of machines, an area for stretchin' or doin' body weight exercises, a solid free weight area, and such. The only downside is there aren't any squat racks - only smith machines. The staff does a fine job of keepin' the equipment in good condition and the gym is pretty tidy. I would wholeheartedly recommend workin' out 'ere. There's a lot of value for yer money!
Peter Baker (4/25/25, 8:57 AM):
When I first relocated to Boise a couple of years back, I acquired a membership at this gym to improve my fitness level. Since then, I've terminated my membership not just once... but TWICE in order to join another gym, but I always find myself returning to this place. I feel at ease here and the staff is always so welcoming. Today, I came in to sign up for my third membership (lol) and the young lady who assisted me at the front desk was fantastic. I didn't catch her name, but she had lovely curly dark hair and was extremely helpful and kind. Having a membership at this gym is very convenient. I'm pleased to be back and anticipate staying longer this time.
Brittany Morales (4/24/25, 10:36 PM):
It's a rather decent Planet Fitness. I relocated from North Carolina and the gym over there was much larger and had a wider variety of equipment. The staff is friendly and not too pushy. The place is kept tidy. Hopefully, they will add more equipment in the future.
Vincent Hall (4/20/25, 4:43 AM):
Just wanted to give a big shoutout to the AM at that specific location. I recently moved to the area and needed help transitioning my membership to this gym because some records were outdated and the online system was a bit old-fashioned. The AM took the time to call and resolve the issues, ensuring everything was successfully transferred. Extremely helpful and patient. Thank you very much!
Matthew Adams (4/16/25, 10:27 PM):
I made the switch to Planet Fitness after Body Renew went out of business. The gym is massive, spotless, and it looks like they take good care of the equipment. Unlike Body Renew, I haven't encountered any issues with getting access to the free weights, and the locker rooms are really spacious.
All in all, I consider it to be a top-notch gym. I typically save my 5-star ratings for gyms that have swimming pool access, though.
Judith Cox (4/14/25, 2:51 AM):
Greetings, mate! Just joined this gym and I must say, it's quite a pleasant surprise. The staff is top-notch, no judgment vibes here, and the facilities are absolutely top-notch. Plus, they have round-the-clock staffing so you won't find yourself in a dodgy gym all alone at night. And the best part? It's all super affordable for what you're getting! Cheers!
Julie Miller (4/13/25, 12:53 AM):
The gym is always spick and span, their gear is top-notch, and I adore that you can swipe in using the app on your phone and also check the “crowd meter” to get an idea of how busy it is at that moment! The black card membership is definitely worth the extra ~$11 a month for the added bonuses 🤗...
