Daniel Morgan (6/12/25, 5:42 AM):
I 'ad an absolutely stellar experience at this Brighton spot with Margie! The blokes and sheilas there are dead friendly, and they're actually around during the day! Everything was proper tidy and well put together as well.

On the other hand, I 'ad a brief, dreadful time at the Westminster location which shut down out of the blue, but Margie completely got it and sorted out the contracts my old man and I 'ad. She genuinely cared about our situation. She took it seriously and sorted it within, I reckon, 30 minutes of us giving 'er a bell, which was absolutely brilliant. Cheers to Brighton Anytime! :) I'd give 'em a 10/10 recommend.

DO NOT ACQUIRE A MEMBERSHIP AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT. I typically do not leave reviews, but this establishment and its management exhibit a distinctive level of malevolence. Upon contacting them to cancel my membership, Maggie the Manager assured me she would handle it. However, two months later I discovered that she had deceived me by only freezing my account in hopes that I would overlook or fail to notice the charges. They resort to deception and manipulation, making it unnecessarily complicated for you to terminate your membership. I highly recommend avoiding this place to spare yourself from unnecessary hassle.
Dorothy Butler (6/9/25, 8:45 AM):
PAY HEED TO ALL THE DEROGATORY REVIEWS! Do not put pen to paper on anything. THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS THE EPITOME OF DECEIT. I am flabbergasted at the audacity of the proprietor and staff of this franchise. Upon signing up, I was assured that I could bring a single guest as many times as I pleased, that this was not a binding agreement, and that I could terminate it without charge at any time after 3 months. Five months down the line, I opt to cancel due to the fact that this place does not merit the exorbitant fee. The cardio equipment is frequently out of order or halts abruptly, the gym is cramped and musty, and the rest of the machines seem to be falling apart and could all benefit from some WD-40. Clearly, everything I was told was a fabrication because I was NOT permitted to bring a guest as frequently as promised. After a week, they were required to secure their own membership. It turns out that the membership IS indeed a contract since you can only terminate it with a 50% buyout or for an uncommon reason such as relocation or a medical condition. The employee who enrolled me was simply LAZY as he couldn't be bothered to carry out his job properly and thoroughly explain things so that you genuinely comprehend what you're agreeing to. As a patron, you place your trust in the employee and assume that the company hires honest, competent individuals. He consciously gave me false information to seal a deal. This establishment can only sustain itself through various money-grabbing schemes because there's no feasible way that individuals are genuinely content with this place. They impose a fee for EVERYTHING; if you wish to suspend your account, they levy a $2.50 charge every two weeks. As previously mentioned, if you desire to terminate your membership, you have to fork out a 50% buyout. The cost amounts to $50 every month, calculate that figure for yourself! If you value your hard-earned cash, AVOID going there! To compound matters, if you wish to cancel, they will present you with a litany of flimsy excuses as to why they cannot oblige. In actuality, ACCORDING TO THEIR POLICY, they retain the right to terminate memberships for ANY REASON, they simply choose not to because they are subpar :)
Amber Perez (6/9/25, 12:05 AM):
This place is absolutely dreadful. They don't even have the basic decency to provide cleaning supplies for the equipment. The water fountain is out of order, the yoga mats appear to have been salvaged from a dumpster, and there's only one lukewarm shower that functions properly. Not to mention the massive hole in the wall of the other shower. It's blatantly obvious that this establishment lacks proper upkeep.
Abigail Kim (6/8/25, 4:33 PM):
I highly advise against getting tangled up with this gym. I registered for a 7-day complimentary trial and managed to utilize it on the initial day. However, on my second visit (the third day of the trial), the fitness supervisor (Margie) declined to honor the remaining days of the free trial and insisted that I pay the daily entrance fee ($10) to access the gym. I displayed the email with the particulars of my trial pass (free, no obligations, etc.), but her response was that numerous individuals had been exploiting the trial pass and as she is the owner of the gym, she is not obligated to adhere to the terms. Ultimately, she permitted me to work out that day but made it clear that future free trial entries would not be allowed. I contacted Anytime Fitness customer service for assistance, but they were unhelpful as well.

In terms of the gym itself, it is necessary to bring your water bottle for the dispenser since the drinking fountain remains out of order (as evident in one of the photos). They provide hand towels and spray bottles for cleaning the equipment. The equipment is basic and in good shape. I did observe a tanning bed, yet it appeared outdated and neglected. During my visits (typically in the late afternoon), the gym wasn't overly crowded.
Ann Reyes (6/7/25, 3:55 PM):
I worked out at this gym for a couple of months while working out of state. I made good use of the showers while staying in my camper. This gym is well-maintained, clean, and has a great atmosphere overall. Margie, the manager, is very helpful and does an excellent job of keeping things running smoothly. I will definitely return if I find myself back in town!
Amelia Coleman (6/7/25, 10:30 AM):
I was utterly chuffed when I discovered this gym had swung its doors open. I'm a proper gym enthusiast and I reckon breaking a sweat is me go-to stress-buster. I had a natter with Margie on the blower and she sorted me right out, booking me in for me gym seshes with ease. The gear, the spotlessness, and the team really blew me away. Me time there was top-notch, no doubt. The only reason I bid adieu was 'cause a gym within staggering distance finally flung its doors wide open. Big thanks to Margie and the whole crew for being so friendly and handy. You lot are gems, I tell ya.
Jose Clark (6/7/25, 4:25 AM):
I fancy this gym, it's one of the largest Anytime Fitness centers I've visited. I'd rate it 2 stars because we've been frequenting this place for 3 months and have been raising concerns about the lack of hot water for the same period with no resolution in sight. We're simply told that they've spoken to this person or that person. Taking an ice-cold shower and then stepping out into 20-degree weather is just not pleasant at all.
Joyce Jackson (6/6/25, 2:41 PM):
Top-notch service, particularly MARGIE WHEAT who assisted with my cancellation very politely 😇
Victoria Morales (6/6/25, 1:34 AM):
I 'ave been a member of this Gym for over two years now, it is clean, friendly, and always a positive experience. The staff are always friendly and 'elpful.
Gloria Bennett (6/5/25, 2:43 AM):
Cease the practice of billing individuals for a fitness center they are not utilizing or are unable to access. It is disgraceful, particularly in the current circumstances.
Victoria Hernandez (6/4/25, 11:55 PM):
UPDATE:

I've been calling repeatedly to inform them of my change of address and requested a callback with the corporate number, but they have never responded, you know because those of us who sell memberships know it doesn't look good for the numbers... So they just keep charging me. I didn't even pick up my key fob.

I gave 2 stars tonight because I decided to take a shower after my workout. I always run short of time in the morning before work, so I thought this would be a great alternative! Well, if you enjoy COLD showers, the far right shower is the one for you. I prefer warm, even hot showers... If you like freezing temperatures 🥶🥶, then this is the shower for you. I had the temperature all the way up, lathered up, and could barely touch my skin with the icy water. I don't know if they turn it off at night or if they just want you to take quick showers or what??? My hair goes down to my butt, no shower is ever quick enough for a cold shower. Very disappointed. I will be trying other locations.
Abigail Roberts (6/2/25, 3:41 PM):
Do not be fooled by the $1 promotion they offer at this gym. After 2 weeks, the cost goes up to $25 every other week. Trying to cancel is a nightmare - you can only do so if you move, get injured and provide doctor's proof that you cannot exercise, or pay a hefty buyout fee. The gym conveniently forgets to mention any of this when you sign up. Even if you move or get hurt, you still have to keep paying until they process everything. The buyout option will set you back around $650. So unless you're committed to this gym for the next three years, I'd steer clear.
Sarah Watson (6/1/25, 11:23 PM):
I 'ave been a member fer two years now. I 'ave also tried nearly all of the gyms in Brighton, includin' the recreation center. I 'ave achieved so many goals with the 'elp of the supportive staff. If you are serious about losin' weight, tonin' up, there is a class, a piece of cardio equipment, or weights; both machine and free. Open 24/7, you can't go wrong 'ere!
Teresa Morris (5/31/25, 6:32 AM):
I found myself ensnared in a 3-year contract without prior knowledge. The individual who enrolled me assured me it was only a 1-year commitment. Exiting the contract has proven to be a formidable task as well. Ultimately, I had to pay to terminate the remaining period of my contract. I would suggest exploring alternative, more cost-effective gym options before considering this one.
Sarah Ramirez (5/30/25, 6:06 PM):
This gym is the most ghastly one I've ever encountered. No one bothers to wipe down the equipment after use. The showers are always either flooded or filthy. The tanning beds never seem to have any sanitizer or paper towels for cleaning. The staff is incredibly impolite. And to top it off, you're practically coerced into a 3-year contract.
Ryan Adams (5/30/25, 3:59 AM):
I really fancy the daily workouts as they do challenge and push me. I am absolutely chuffed that I signed up for this gym because there's no other place I'd rather be to get a cracking workout in. I feel better and stronger each day. Cheers to Anytime Fitness, thank you!
Douglas Ward (5/29/25, 6:37 PM):
Margie was absolutely delightful when discussing my account and assisted me in resolving the overdraft fee without any hesitation or resistance.
Alice Thompson (5/29/25, 6:03 AM):
They don’t “force” you into a 3-year contract. Anytime Fitness has a clean gym with private showers, and the manager allowed me to do month-to-month since my work schedule is all over the place. The gym has a room where you can choose from over 200 workouts and then watch the instructor on a big screen. The best thing is the Jacobs ladder - killer!
Jerry Henderson (5/28/25, 3:34 AM):
- Customer service: acceptable.
- Cleanliness: fine.
- Price: reasonable.
- Would I recommend it? NO.

** Suggestions: they need to add a couple of heavy punching bags.
