Lifetime Cary is without a doubt my top pick when it comes to gyms in the area. Having tried out numerous gyms and classes, I can confidently say that this place offers a comprehensive fitness experience. The sheer variety of classes available caters to a wide range of preferences, making it a fantastic option for all. The instructors and trainers are not only highly skilled but also a joy to learn from. A special shoutout to Max for his exceptional work. If you're in the area, be sure to give it a go!

The gym has a lovely appearance, yet the employees failed to fulfill the promises they made to my wife and me, resulting in us losing hundreds of dollars. They dedicated a significant amount of time to persuade us to join, but were nowhere to be found when we required assistance with our payments. Despite our efforts over numerous months, we encountered recurring issues.

I cannot recommend this establishment. Opt for any other option besides Lifetime.
Eric Reed (6/13/25, 4:42 PM):
Lifetime is such a marvelous fitness center. The indoor pool and rock climbing sealed the deal for us, really. The thing is, my spouse and I could opt for any gym for the most part. We fancy taking classes, but squeezing them into our tight schedule can be quite a challenge, so we don't usually take advantage of them. However, we were on the lookout for a gym that offers childcare not only for young ones, but a place that would cater to both us and our older elementary school-aged kiddos.

Our children have participated in the spring break camp here and adore the children's area as it provides options for all age groups. They absolutely relish year-round swimming and have both tried their hand at rock climbing!

The honest truth is that Lifetime boasts superb customer service and a plethora of fantastic amenities, but what truly captured our hearts was the family-friendly vibe of this establishment.

The customer service at this gym is absolutely dreadful, and the equipment is in terrible condition. I cannot recommend this place. I tried to overlook the worn-out machines, but today was the final straw. My girlfriend and I have been members for around 2 months, and we just had the worst experience ever. The rock wall is hardly ever open, which is disappointing.

My girlfriend had a really uncomfortable encounter with a female staff member in the locker room. She was stared at while changing, and then told abruptly that she couldn't shower and had to leave immediately. This happened right at 10pm. Strangely enough, when I was waiting outside the locker rooms after my shower at around 10:20pm, some female employees walked out, asked if I was waiting for someone, and then walked off. Meanwhile, there were still men in the men's locker room. It turns out my girlfriend was already outside waiting for me, as she had messaged me about what had happened.

The gym closes at 10pm on Saturdays. My girlfriend left the pool promptly at 10pm, and I left the gym at around 10:07pm. We each went straight to our respective locker rooms. While I was in the shower (around 10:13), I was informed that I had only 10 minutes until closing time.

It's clear that there is a difference in how men and women are treated at this place. Given the awful customer service and the poor condition of the equipment, I am starting to doubt whether this gym is as upscale as they claim it to be.

My kin and I have been part of the Life Time clan for quite a spell. I must say, their dedication to enhancing their establishment is truly commendable. While it may not be the most budget-friendly option around, I'd wholeheartedly endorse it for its abundant top-notch facilities and amenities; their customer service game is also second to none.

The kids' programs on offer are varied and superb, and the childcare services during your workout sesh are top-notch.

My wee ones have been diving into swim lessons here for nigh on three years. The strides they've made and the staff's dedication have left us immensely satisfied.
Christina Turner (6/10/25, 2:21 AM):
They've gone and added the most inefficient method for inviting a guest. You've got to go through this irksome rigmarole of downloading their blasted app. And if you fancy a game of basketball, they've now only got 1 court available since the other one has been repurposed into a pickleball court, would you believe it? The lone basketball court is frequently closed due to events, and on top of that, for a grand total of 2 days per week, a group of older chaps seem to have taken it upon themselves to monopolize one half from 5 to 7:30. It's enough to make you question the steep fee you're shelling out for this subpar experience, I tell you.
Nathan Cruz (6/9/25, 10:02 PM):
I popped over to LIFETIME Charlotte while I was away from my home club in Raleigh over the weekend and got to take advantage of the great amenities they offer. My only little complaint is that there aren't any EV charging stations at these clubs. Aside from that, the facilities were really top-notch and I had a fantastic time during my visit.

I recently visited this gym and couldn't help but notice how the prices keep going up while the amenities are disappearing. I was quite shocked to find out that they no longer provide those $0.50 razors in the men's locker room. Really now, c'mon!
Bruce Mitchell (6/9/25, 3:46 AM):
The staff is so helpful, the instructors are top-notch, and the place is always sparkling clean - I absolutely love it. It's not exactly budget-friendly, but if you're a regular visitor, let's say 5 hours a week... that's 20 hours a month, at approximately $200 per month, making it around $10 per hour. And let's not forget about the fantastic outdoor pool for those warm weather days - it's simply fabulous.
