Life Time Gym in Dallas: A Comprehensive Review

Life Time Fitness in Dallas, Texas, is a gym that offers a range of amenities and services for its members, but it has recently faced criticism for various issues. This article will explore the key features, accessibility options, and atmosphere of Life Time, as well as address some of the feedback from current and past members.

Membership Required

Before joining Life Time, it's important to note that membership is required. The pricing has been a contentious topic, with many users expressing dissatisfaction over recent increases. Initial prices were around $75 per month, but some members report paying upwards of $140 without seeing improvements in services or facilities.

Planning Your Visit

When planning a visit, consider the operating hours, which have been curtailed since the pandemic. Current hours may not be convenient for everyone, especially for those who prefer late-night workouts. Additionally, online classes are available, providing an alternative for those who cannot make it to the gym in person.

On-Site Services and Amenities

Life Time boasts several on-site services designed to enhance the member experience: - Locker Rooms and Showers: The locker rooms feature amenities like showers and towel service. However, cleanliness has been reported as inconsistent, with members noting dirty restrooms and lack of soap. - Sauna and Steam Room: The sauna is a popular feature, although reports suggest it may not always be well-maintained. - Child Care: For parents, the gym offers child care services. While many parents appreciate this option, some have criticized the quality of care, citing unprofessional staff behavior. - Basketball Court: A basketball court provides recreational opportunities, though members have commented on its upkeep being neglected at times.

Accessibility Features

Access to Life Time is generally accommodating, featuring a wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible seating. However, reviews indicate that members have experienced issues regarding the wheelchair-accessible car park and bathroom facilities lacking proper maintenance standards.

Community Atmosphere

The overall atmosphere of Life Time can vary widely depending on the time of day. Many members appreciate the friendly staff and encouraging environment. Instructors are often praised for their classes, fostering a sense of community among attendees. However, some members have voiced concerns about rude staff interactions and perceived discrimination in service levels.

Conclusion

While Life Time Fitness in Dallas offers a variety of amenities, it is clear that there are significant areas that require improvement. Issues such as pricing, cleanliness, and staff professionalism have raised concerns among its current members. For those considering membership, visiting the facility beforehand will provide insight into whether it meets personal fitness needs and expectations.

Absolutely love this gym. Used to be a member at Equinox in Highland Park, but I've found that this gym suits me much better. I can easily join the classes I like and use the equipment I prefer. Delighted to share my positive experience in this review.

A truly comical establishment. Found myself in the middle of an interesting situation when an individual, claiming to be a manager, approached me while I was in the midst of my workout. This person happened to be the spouse of an employee who was involved in an incident where their vehicle collided with mine in the parking lot. To my surprise, he made several false claims about having video evidence, the ownership history of their vehicle, and ultimately denied any responsibility for the damages caused. As the discussion quickly turned confrontational and unproductive due to his disrespectful behavior, I decided to end the conversation rather heatedly, expressing my disbelief at the entire ordeal.

Following this exchange, the individual opted to wait for me near the exit, prompting me to once again express my frustration at the absurdity of the situation. The gym management, while acknowledging the inappropriate actions of both parties, allowed us to retain our memberships but emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for such incidents in the future, particularly in a family-friendly environment. Despite feeling that my safety was compromised by the false representation and unexpected confrontation, I felt disillusioned by the lack of accountability on the part of the instigator.

Given these circumstances, I made the immediate decision to terminate my membership as I no longer felt comfortable utilizing the facilities under such conditions. It is clear that I have been wronged in this scenario, and I am considering seeking legal counsel to address the matter accordingly.

This gym is absolutely huge and has heaps of machines. I usually spend about an hour here getting my workout done, but because there are so many machines, I can go from one to the next without any waiting around. It's a fantastic spot for squats, deadlifts, or bench presses - super easy to get your sets in!
Brian Murphy (4/24/25, 1:10 PM):
Lovely folks. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted with smiles by the two individuals at the reception desk. Taking a turn to the left, I was once again met with a friendly smile from the gentleman folding towels. In the locker room, I noticed a diligent gentleman keeping the area tidy. Moving on to the weight room, several personal trainers were considerate enough to acknowledge my presence with a smile or nod, a gesture that some of the more upscale clubs often overlook. The pool and hot tub were pleasantly uncrowded, which was particularly appealing to me as my regular gym doesn't have these amenities. Many thanks for making me feel so welcome. Cheers!
Aaron Anderson (4/24/25, 4:49 AM):
This establishment is quite disappointing, with broken equipment, especially the jacuzzi, and a general lack of cleanliness. The workout area's old and stained carpet is a real eyesore. On top of all that, new members are expected to pay a hefty $140 a month, which is outrageous. My advice would be to steer clear of this place and consider any other gym instead.
Doris Adams (4/23/25, 4:02 AM):
I often visit another Lifetime location and happened to drop by this one due to a hectic schedule. To put it bluntly, this gym doesn't live up to the Lifetime brand. The equipment was decent, but the locker room was in really bad shape. This was hands down the least impressive Lifetime gym I've come across. If you're just popping in for a quick workout and then heading out, it's passable. But if you plan on freshening up post-workout, this probably isn't the spot for you.
Jordan Ortiz (4/18/25, 4:17 AM):
I must say, I am quite disappointed with the recent changes at this gym. It used to be a decent establishment, but ever since the new management took over this year, things have been going downhill rapidly. The membership fees have increased significantly without any noticeable improvements in the services offered. It now feels more like a budget gym chain rather than the quality facility it used to be.

The maintenance of the gym equipment is lacking, with many machines in need of repairs or missing parts. The cleanliness of the restrooms has also deteriorated, with stains and lack of proper cleaning becoming a common sight. It is unacceptable for a facility that promotes health and hygiene to be in such a state.

I believe the management should focus on improving the overall quality of the gym and invest in better staff who are dedicated to maintaining cleanliness and providing a positive experience for the members. It seems as though their main priority is pushing their personal training services, neglecting the basic upkeep of the gym itself.

I urge the corporate team to address these issues promptly before more members become dissatisfied and potential clients are deterred from joining. It is crucial for the reputation and success of the gym that these concerns are taken seriously and resolved effectively.
