This La Fitness branch is one of the most disappointing I've ever visited. It's a struggle to locate the specific weights you require as everything seems to be in disarray. Additionally, it tends to be quite crowded no matter the time of day.

Jermaine is a top lad, always ready to lend a hand with a smile on his dial. Truly deserves a pay bump for being an absolute gem. He's the real MVP around here, the only one you can count on when you're in a pinch. Definitely a 5-star rating just for his stellar work ethic.
Amelia Evans (6/13/25, 2:05 PM):
There be like 8 stairmasters but only 3 be in workin' condition =/
I 'ave to shuffle me boots for 20 minutes to get on one o' the few machines I fancy. The gym better sort out them machines, they know plenty o' folks be usin' 'em. They need to get on it, people be grumblin', the crew be all diplomatic-like and flash a smile, but they ain't fixin' the machines.
On top o' that, many a time there be no wipes to tidy up the machines. Dreadful, 'cause we know some folks don't bother cleanin' up after themselves.
Tyler Hamilton (6/10/25, 12:47 AM):
Jermaine is absolutely wonderful! Always so friendly and incredibly helpful! Thank you for consistently delivering an excellent experience during every gym session!! (Definitely deserves a raise haha)
Johnny Cruz (6/8/25, 5:28 PM):
I must say, mate, these African blokes working at the American gym have been showing a shocking lack of respect towards us Latinos just because we speak Spanish. It's quite bothersome, really. I was in the middle of me workout, and this chap comes over and tells me it's time to finish up, despite me having a good 5 minutes left on the clock. And to top it off, they seem to have no manners at all, helping themselves to things without so much as a by your leave. It's a bit perplexing, innit? This gym boasts top-notch quality, yet these chaps seem to be letting the side down. Can't say it's the first time they've been a tad out of line, if you catch me drift.
Alan Collins (6/3/25, 5:23 AM):
I must say, this LA Fitness establishment is rather disappointing. The cleanliness leaves much to be desired, and it always seems overcrowded, which deters me from visiting. The customer service is lacking, particularly a certain lady at the front desk who was exceptionally rude to me during a recent phone call. I have been a member since 2015, and I believe they could certainly improve their overall service quality.
Michael Ortiz (6/1/25, 12:25 PM):
This gym is absolutely awesome, mate! The location couldn't be better. The staff here are so polite and helpful. And let me tell you, Khalil is a top-notch trainer - professional, knowledgeable, and just great at what he does. Highly recommend this place!
Shirley Rodriguez (5/31/25, 9:01 PM):
The gym has had a fabulous refurbishment, which is top-notch! However, what really lets this gym down is its staff members. They can be quite unfriendly and lacking in basic skills. While I understand the need for gym policies, it's important that they are enforced fairly for all members, not just those who seem easy to intimidate. This kind of treatment is simply not acceptable! Save your money and consider going elsewhere for your workouts instead!
Julia Thomas (5/30/25, 9:12 AM):
I must say, I am quite dismayed by the experience at this establishment. Having been a patron since its inception at this particular venue, I have witnessed a noticeable deterioration in their standard of service over time. Seeking to enhance my membership with guest privileges, I was informed that the only way to proceed was to create a new account and subsequently deactivate the original one. Reluctantly, I adhered to this process, only to discover that I had been charged for both accounts without my knowledge for a considerable period. When I endeavored to rectify this oversight, the customer service representative attempted to placate me with an offer to reduce my benefits.
In all honesty, it appears that this establishment is engaging in deceptive practices and exploiting its patrons.
Douglas Flores (5/30/25, 5:23 AM):
There's nay staff around, and the few ye can find be glued t' their phones most o' the time. The locker room be a right mess, with most sinks out o' order. 'Tis a shame t' see such poor upkeep and maintenance.
Jeremy Cruz (5/29/25, 12:45 AM):
Fantastic gym, conveniently located near my place. The customer service is top-notch, with a warm welcome at the entrance. The sales team is always cheerful and friendly. The basketball court is a highlight, with a cool floor. The saunas are incredibly comfortable. Shoutout to Kingsley for his excellent customer service. The front desk staff are always in high spirits, providing five-star hospitality.
Ronald Miller (5/27/25, 3:31 PM):
It is crystal clear that the Laurel LA Fitness displays a flagrant prejudice against African American gentlemen who take pleasure in a game of basketball. Consistently, whenever a problem arises, the basketball court is promptly closed off, with no valid explanation given. It is unjust!!!!
Michael Evans (5/24/25, 12:37 PM):
I've only been a member for a month, but let me tell you, I absolutely adore this gym. The staff is top-notch and super friendly! There's a wide variety of equipment available, so you never have to wait too long to use any machine. This has been the best investment I've made all year, no doubt about it.
I also want to give a big shoutout to Jermaine, who is absolutely killing it at this gym. His energy and kindness are just out of this world. We definitely need more people like Jermaine to make the world a better place for everyone. Signing up at this gym was definitely a decision I do not regret ✨
Hannah Butler (5/23/25, 6:08 PM):
I've been frequenting this gym for years now, and out of all the staff members I've encountered, Jermaine Caby truly stands out. He goes above and beyond to assist around the facility and is always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter the circumstances.
Judith Kim (5/23/25, 1:17 PM):
I've been a member of LA Fitness for quite some time now, and I must say, it has been one of the best choices I've ever made! The gym facilities are superb, constantly clean and well-kept. The staff is incredibly friendly and well-informed, always ready to assist with any queries or worries. The range of equipment and classes available is truly impressive, and the vibe is both motivating and encouraging. Thanks to Roxana Arias, I've witnessed substantial improvements in my fitness journey. Would highly recommend it!"
Danielle Brown (5/21/25, 7:42 AM):
On the evening of 3/13, one of the male cleaning staff entered the WOMEN'S locker room to "clean" 15 minutes before closing time. Several of us were still in towels and using the sauna at that time. This is highly concerning and completely unacceptable. It occurred right after another male staff member at the front desk announced an early closure at 10:40 when the gym is supposed to be open until 11. I understand that employees want to wrap up their work shift, but causing discomfort and a sense of insecurity among patrons just to leave early is not appropriate. It's truly appalling behavior. I intend to escalate this issue as it is a serious violation. In the past, I've seen the front desk staff handle closing procedures more efficiently without causing any distress. This incident reflects poorly on the management of the facility.
Jennifer Mitchell (5/18/25, 1:14 AM):
Great spot for a workout overall. I did enjoy the location and equipment at this gym. However, not a fan of how management locks up the gear because of theft issues. Some weights were missing, and a few pieces of equipment showed signs of rusting. The wipes provided for cleaning the machines seemed cheap and dried out. Despite these drawbacks, I must admit that this LA location is superior to others I've visited.
The front desk staff were fantastic, but the membership service team seemed uninformed and unhelpful. When asked a question, their go-to response was "IDK", giving the impression that they were only focused on making sales. They often appeared more interested in chatting loudly and lounging around rather than assisting members. On a positive note, the lockers, bathrooms, and saunas were kept clean and well-maintained.
I did notice that the atmosphere tends to change after 4 pm, feeling more like a crowded nightclub. Although I appreciated the 3-day trial period, I ultimately decided to look for a different gym for my regular membership.
Philip Graham (5/17/25, 7:55 AM):
Kingsley (Sales Rep) and Jaime (Head Trainer) are the most unprofessional and dishonest people at this gym. When I was inquiring with Kingsley during the sign-up process, his attitude quickly turned sour, telling me to stop asking questions and focus on payment instead. After signing the agreement and speaking with staff at LA Fitness corporate, I discovered that much of the information he provided about the gym's policies was inaccurate. When I tried to cancel my personal training, Jaime tried to overcharge me, insisting I pay $1300 to terminate the contract. When I questioned this steep fee, he became defensive, stating, "No one forced you to sign the agreement." However, according to the corporate office, the correct cancellation fee was only $400. In conclusion, there are other gyms with more affordable rates, better facilities, and trustworthy and welcoming staff. Joining this gym was a mistake on my part, so I urge you not to make the same error. Consider yourself warned.
Samantha Wilson (5/16/25, 5:52 PM):
The front desk team is absolutely lovely! Salina in particular is just fantastic!! Positive energy everywhere you go! ✨️
Margaret Lopez (5/14/25, 1:10 PM):
I've been a member of this gym for more than nine months. The management really needs to address the issue with the broken equipment as soon as possible. Three out of the four steppers are out of order, six out of the eight stair masters are not working, and eight Ellipticals are currently out of service. Additionally, several other weightlifting machines are also non-functional. It's becoming quite frustrating as some of these machines have been out of order since I joined. Most of the equipment has had a "Scheduled for service" sign for almost nine months, yet no one has come to fix them.
