Superb workout, instructor, and gym space. I popped in on a Friday and they even had a happy hour afterward -- fantastic, encouraging, and welcoming atmosphere. Also had the chance to mingle with neighbors, which was grand.

I would give it more stars if I could. I’ve never been consistent about working out before SweatDC but I truly love it here and WANT to come to class. The classes are challenging but the coaches are encouraging, the community is welcoming, and the studio is beautifully inclusive.
Jonathan Nelson (4/29/25, 4:55 AM):
From the personal training sessions to the array of classes, Sweat DC is truly a hidden gem. Their entire coaching team exudes fantastic energy that's infectious. The workouts are sure to push you in all the right ways. The music selection is top-notch; unlike some workout playlists that offer cheesy renditions of popular songs, this place hits the mark. The dim lighting during classes allows you to fully concentrate on your fitness goals. Plus, bonus points for being a local boutique brand that embraces diversity!
Logan Ross (4/29/25, 4:17 AM):
I highly recommend Sweat DC 100%.

This class combines cardio, weights, and core exercises in a full workout that lasts only 45 minutes. I attend twice a week, focusing on upper body and lower body on different days, and each session feels unique. I always leave feeling both completely exhausted and exhilarated. After just a few weeks, I've noticed a significant increase in my strength.

If you're new to working out, this is a fantastic place to start. The coaching is top-notch.

For those who have primarily focused on cardio and are looking to incorporate more strength training, like myself, this is the perfect starting point. Coach G's workouts, even the weight training, focus on balance and core engagement. Although I have experienced soreness after the workouts here, I've never felt any strain on my back.

And if you typically only lift weights, I dare you to try out one of Coach G's cardio sessions. They're tough—in the best way possible.

I popped by a community class to give this spot a whirl & it was absolutely smashing! The ambiance with the lights & tunes, alongside the instructor (Nazinga), made for a jolly good time. Count me in for a return visit, for sure!
Teresa Simmons (4/27/25, 10:03 PM):
Oh absolutely my FAVORITE spot! I've been a monthly unlimited member since October 2017 and never once looked back. Why do I adore this place so much? It's the vibe, the tunes, the lack of judgement, the coaches, the members, and the workouts...indeed, even the challenging ones.

I walk out of there feeling empowered after every session. It's like personal training within a community. Even in a group of 20, you still get tailored guidance! I have my preferred instructors due to my musical taste BUT no matter what, EACH and EVERY instructor is INCREDIBLE!!! They've fashioned a space that cheers on achievements, big or small! Health and fitness come in all shapes and sizes and SWEAT reminds you that they're here to support you #sweatoutsidethebox so don't be shy to break a little sweat! :)

FYI: I haven't tried their dance classes (not my cup of tea) HOWEVER, I've heard fantastic things about John & Rico's GET DOWN.
Douglas King (4/26/25, 6:04 AM):
I absolutely adore this spot. I'm not a fan of working out, but they manage to make it a delightful, enjoyable, and social experience. I enjoyed it so much that I got into amazing shape over a summer and didn't even notice the significant weight loss and muscle gain until I tried on a pair of jeans. Sadly, I had to stop going because their rates increased and were no longer within my budget.
Denise Davis (4/25/25, 7:51 PM):
Top-notch strength training gym! The instruction is lively and inviting. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
James Kim (4/25/25, 2:23 AM):
SWEATDC is definitely my go-to workout spot in DC. The trainers are absolutely amazing, the studio is spotless, and the 45-minute HIIT circuit classes are so convenient for anyone's schedule (they offer early morning sessions as well as several evening ones). Coach G, the owner, has a magnetic personality and greets everyone warmly with a significant twerk! He genuinely cares about the well-being and progress of all his clients and staff. My top instructors at SWEATDC are Sarah, Neechie, and Nazinga – they always have the perfect music playing. Whenever I feel too exhausted to do another rep, I simply groove in place. The ambiance with the dim lights and catchy tunes makes it easy to forget about any self-consciousness while working out alongside others. If you're seeking a fantastic workout environment with no judgment, SWEATDC is the place for you. You might catch me there in the mornings, I'm the enthusiastic woman upfront giving it my all (dancing, singing), and sweating buckets!
Matthew Diaz (4/21/25, 6:44 PM):
I usually don't leave feedback, mate, but I just had to pop in to rave about this cracking spot! Coach G is a top-notch instructor who never fails to push me to my limits during every session. In just 45 minutes, I always come away feeling like I've had a proper workout. The STRONG and HIIT classes are absolutely smashing! Plus, it's fab to support a small business like this one. Cheers!
Layla Jordan (4/20/25, 2:34 AM):
A truly inspiring experience that bloody well kicks my bum every time. Fantastic community energy. In just 45 minutes, you’ll definitely feel it! The instructors are all brilliant as well.
Shirley Clark (4/18/25, 1:22 PM):
I do travel for work for a few months at a time, so I've tried many different gyms. Not that it shows. Anyway, there are 3 parts to why I love Sweat.

1. The coaches. The coaches are really friendly and are great about making you feel confident/comfortable with new types of exercises/weights. I've witnessed this with everyone, no matter your size or experience level.

2. The workouts. I love that their workouts are designed to prevent injury. The workout has a prep session to get you ready for the bigger part of the workout with similar movements. I think too many gyms lose sight of the importance of proper form in preventing injuries.

3. The music. If I had one, I'd sell my first born to get access to their old school playlists.
Steven Miller (4/18/25, 5:41 AM):
This is a fantastic place to improve your health and fitness. The team is incredibly helpful and friendly. The classes tend to fill up fast (for good reason), so it's important to secure your spot as soon as you can.
Carl Miller (4/17/25, 10:23 AM):
I popped along to their lower body HIIT session at Hook Hall and had an absolute blast! The instructor was spot on with their instructions and demonstrations, the exercises were straightforward but definitely got the heart pumping, the music was full of energy, we were all safely distanced with tables between us, and a super cute dog even came over to say hello! Count me in for the next session – I'll be making this a regular thing for sure!
Karen Ward (4/16/25, 10:25 PM):
Marvelous gym and trainers, I must say! The layout is top-notch, and I thoroughly enjoy tracking my progress over time. It's a delightful yet demanding class with encouraging trainers in a welcoming atmosphere.
