VASA Fitness in Westminster, Colorado: An In-depth Review

VASA Fitness in Westminster, Colorado, offers a unique atmosphere designed to cater to a diverse range of fitness enthusiasts. With facilities including basketball courts, swimming pools, and various amenities, it stands out as a popular choice among gym-goers.

The Atmosphere

The atmosphere at VASA Fitness is generally welcoming, with friendly staff members greeting you upon entering. Many reviews highlight the upbeat environment that encourages a positive workout experience. The gym's spacious layout allows for comfortable movement, even during peak hours when it can become crowded.

Key features include: - Sauna and steam room for post-workout relaxation. - Swimming pool for those who enjoy aquatic exercise. - Basketball court for recreational activities. - Shower facilities available after workouts, although cleanliness has been a point of concern for some members. Many users appreciate the wide range of machines and equipment. However, reports indicate that some essential equipment often remains out of service for extended periods, which hinders members' ability to track their fitness progress.

Accessibility Features

The gym is equipped with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park, demonstrating an effort to be inclusive for all members. However, there have been critiques regarding the overall maintenance of these features, which can affect user experience.

Challenges in Planning and Maintenance

Many members report that the bathrooms require more attention and upkeep. - Reports of broken or out-of-service showers and toilets have led to frustrations among users, with some stating that key amenities have been non-operational for weeks. - Issues with repairs being neglected highlight a significant gap in management's attention to the facility's needs.

A membership is required to access VASA Fitness facilities. While the pricing is competitive, some members have expressed dissatisfaction with hidden fees and billing practices, particularly concerning membership cancellation. Reviews suggest potential users investigate these policies before committing.

From among the many locations I frequently visit, this one is definitely my favorite. The reason being that their KidCare has bilingual staff, which greatly helps my little ones feel at ease. My daughter particularly adores one of the teachers there. Moreover, this establishment is exceptionally tidy and remains quite well-ordered.
Elizabeth Gonzalez (4/29/25, 11:40 PM):
I absolutely adore visiting VASA compared to Planet Fitness or CHUZE because the folks are just so much more pleasant. Planet Fitness has some peculiar contraptions and no gratis weights. CHUZE is populated by individuals who carry themselves as if they're superior to others. VASA is the ideal spot for self-improvement and CONCENTRATION. Everyone here is too focused on their own gains to even take notice of you. Additionally, this location outshines the one in Aurora. There are not too many rowdy individuals around. However, the prime time for a stellar workout and a fantastic beginning to your day will always be 5 o'clock - irrespective of your whereabouts. I would wholeheartedly endorse this VASA to my nearest and dearest!

I quite fancy this gym because it's near to my place and the staff are rather friendly, but I must say, there's a recurring issue that I face with them. In the studio red rooms, the tablet for check-ins is often turned off or experiencing glitches. When this occurs, you don't get marked as attended for your classes, which may result in charges. The staff inform me that they are unable to remove the charge, despite witnessing me attending the class, and I have to contact membership services.

It's quite absurd that at the branch level, I'm not able to check in when their own equipment is faulty, and then I have to continue paying for missed classes or wait for several days to receive a refund from membership services on principle, even though I am indeed present.

It appears that VASA as a corporation is bent on extracting money from its members at any expense.

My daughter and I absolutely adore this gym! The ladies in the Kid Care area are incredibly lovely and welcoming. The front desk staff are equally delightful.
Justin Parker (4/27/25, 9:22 PM):
I absolutely love coming to this gym. The staff is incredibly helpful. Monique in the kid care is fantastic! I feel completely at ease leaving my children with her.
Russell Cruz (4/24/25, 1:05 PM):
The place is quite roomy, and the staff are quite pleasant. However, I must say, the pool could be a tad warmer for my liking. As for the Zumba classes, they're an absolute hoot! Nonetheless, I do believe they should pay more mind to the bathrooms. It seems some folks don't quite grasp the concept of respect, as they've been snapping photos where it's inappropriate. Additionally, the changing room seems to double up as a photo studio for some, which can be rather bothersome for those waiting to actually change.
Matthew Alexander (4/23/25, 10:11 AM):
I absolutely adore this place! The staff and trainers are so kind and well-informed. Working with Mari was an absolute pleasure, she really helped me get on the right path to success. I eagerly anticipate my workout sessions every time.
Mark Reynolds (4/22/25, 7:19 PM):
I've been frequenting this gym for quite some time, and on the whole, it's splendid. The gear is well-kept, the personnel is amiable, and the premises are consistently tidy. Nevertheless, the snag lies in the music—it's reminiscent of the early 2000s and can truly dampen the ambiance at times. A touch of diversity or more recent playlists would make a significant difference in enhancing the atmosphere. Besides that, I enthusiastically endorse this locale for anyone seeking a reliable workout destination!
Amy Clark (4/21/25, 6:13 PM):
The annual fees at this gym are absolutely outrageous, and if you happen to misplace your card or forget to update it, they hit you with a late fee right away. I'd much prefer going to a gym that doesn't have these policies because, honestly, this gym is not worth the high annual fee. There are constantly broken machines, dirty bathrooms, and more issues that make the whole experience quite disappointing. Simply ridiculous.
Jonathan Hamilton (4/20/25, 8:54 PM):
New year, same bloomin' busted assault bikes, rowers, and other cardio gear in an overly packed gym.

Been witnessin' Vasa CEO Rich Nelson & his lot stroll through the place and eyeball the broken kit time 'n time again, yet nothin' gets sorted...

Update on Vasa's response: chucked in a snap of the knackered rower that's been sittin' broke like this for 4+ months.

2nd Update: The rowers were "fixed" but are still kaput... This place really can't seem to get anythin' right.
Brian Cook (4/19/25, 8:43 AM):
Absolutely splendid! It must be the finest gym in town. The array of top-notch equipment they offer is simply phenomenal, and their cycle studio is unbelievably fabulous.

Anna's cycle class on Wednesday at 6pm is truly outstanding. The vibrant energy she brings, along with the perfect selection of music, creates a marvelous atmosphere. She certainly knows how to deliver a challenging class.
Sarah Gonzales (4/19/25, 3:27 AM):
I 'ave been payin' fer a membership at this Gym fer o'er 3 years. I just got off the blower tryin' t' cancel me membership (I stopped goin' because the equipment is frequently broken, and the gym is always insanely crowded). I 'ad to pay $60 to cancel me membership even though me monthly plan only costs $10. After waitin' on 'old fer 30 minutes, the customer service rep was one of the most disrespectful people I 'ave ever talked with and when I asked to speak to someone else, she refused.

@Vasa, it is very disappointin' that this be 'ow you treat a customer who 'asn't missed a payment in o'er 3 years. Do better.
Christopher Gutierrez (4/17/25, 7:19 AM):
Solid gym. Dreadful management. Foreword: I have toiled in gyms for a dozen years. Have frequented this place for three years mainly because of its proximity to my abode.

To exemplify, let me share one instance: one of the smith machines has been out of order for well over a year. It can still be utilized, but it is malfunctioning in a manner that poses a safety risk (the bar rotates freely without locking and wobbles). I have mentioned this to staff members at least 5-6 times in the past year, emphasizing how it's only a matter of time before someone injures themselves, yet no action has been taken.

The upkeep of equipment seems to be neglected for prolonged periods.

There's an immense AC vent positioned above the barbell area that doesn't release any air, even in the midst of summer. I find myself having to step away from the area to stand beneath a fan between sets.

The restrooms are more likely to be devoid of soap than stocked with it.

All these issues could easily be rectified if management displayed even the slightest hint of concern.
Olivia Hill (4/16/25, 5:52 PM):
The team in charge of opening the gym consistently fails to adjust the sauna to the optimal temperature range of 170° - 190° Fahrenheit. It's a rare occurrence for the sauna to reach above 150° without manual adjustments, and it's not uncommon to find it at or below 130° when entering the facility. (Please see the picture below for reference.)

It's truly disappointing that they struggle with such a basic task like setting the sauna temperature to the appropriate level required for reaping its benefits. Additionally, some members take it upon themselves to control and restrict access to the sauna thermometer, preventing others from reaching the scientifically proven ideal temperature. In general, I am let down by their inability to carry out such a straightforward task effectively.
Virginia Russell (4/15/25, 7:56 PM):
I am absolutely delighted to share my experience regarding America's pursuit of the General Manager in Training role at VASA Fitness. Being a member myself, I can wholeheartedly vouch for the positive impact America has had not just on my personal fitness journey, but on the overall club culture.

Some time ago, I was facing personal challenges that led me to neglect my gym routine. It was during this period that America, without any expectation or obligation, reached out and supported me in finding my way back, inspiring me to rediscover my strength and regain my focus. This wasn't a task she had to do, but rather a demonstration of her inherent compassion, leadership, and dedication to helping others thrive.

America's approach closely aligns with VASA's vision of fostering a motivating and enriching environment where both members and team members can achieve their goals. Her drive to advance within the company and her commitment to VASA's mission are observable in her daily interactions. She creates a positive vibe, balancing organizational priorities with a genuine care for members.

I am confident that in a managerial role, America would thrive in guiding a team towards operational success. Her assertive nature and consistent ability to deliver results showcase a strong sense of responsibility and accountability. Her natural talent for connecting with and motivating others will be invaluable as she learns to oversee the club's performance, engage team members, and drive both financial and cultural achievements.

America embodies the kind of leader who will propel VASA's vision forward, inspiring and coaching her team to do the same. Her loyalty, drive, and member-focused approach make her an asset to any team, and I firmly believe she will excel as a General Manager in Training, bringing her unique mix of compassion and diligence to this role.
Patrick Cooper (4/14/25, 6:34 PM):
Bobby at VASA Fitness is a stellar employee who always provides top-notch service to members. His friendly attitude and readiness to help, whether it's guiding through the gym or fixing equipment issues, sets him apart as a standout team member. I really admire his positive and enthusiastic approach, which truly enhances the overall experience for everyone. Maintaining this level of professionalism and attentiveness is greatly valued by customers like myself. VASA is truly lucky to have such a dedicated individual on their team.
Anthony Sullivan (4/13/25, 9:22 PM):
The staff is friendly and polite, the trainers are knowledgeable and helpful, and most of the gym is kept clean. However, the gym is frequently overcrowded, and I find myself waiting much longer than I would prefer for equipment to become available, especially the leg machines like the leg press, hamstring curl machine, and leg extension machine. In my opinion, it's best to avoid the locker rooms as they consistently have a bad smell and are just as crowded as the rest of the gym.
Joseph Phillips (4/13/25, 7:53 PM):
This spot definitely has the potential to be a top-notch gym, but regrettably, there always seems to be something amiss. Presently, in March 2025, none of the 4 hydro massage beds are operational - not even one! Quite a chuckle, isn't it? Additionally, the restroom facilities consistently leave much to be desired. I understand it's no simple feat, but given the constant influx of patrons, there ought to be sufficient funds available. It's unclear whether the issue lies with corporate oversight or local management, but Vasa could certainly stand to up its game. Should improvements come to fruition, I'd be more than willing to bump up my rating to a full 5 stars. Cheers!
Sharon Campbell (4/13/25, 8:46 AM):
Michelle and Lydia are simply superb!!! They are always so friendly and make my son's experience so enjoyable. They take great care of your little ones and never fail to brighten your day!!! This gym is outstanding and so is the children's care.
