Planet Fitness: A Review of Accessibility and Atmosphere in Westminster, Colorado
Located in Westminster, Colorado, Planet Fitness is a well-known gym that promises a judgment-free zone for fitness enthusiasts. Despite its popularity, the gym has received mixed reviews from members regarding accessibility, cleanliness, and overall atmosphere.
Accessibility and Wheelchair Features
One of the important aspects of any gym is accessibility. Planet Fitness in Westminster features a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance, making it convenient for individuals with mobility challenges. However, some reviews highlight issues with staff behavior that contradict the welcoming atmosphere expected at such a facility.
Member Experiences
Many members appreciate the atmosphere of the gym, noting that it tends to be uncrowded and clean. For example, one long-time member shared that they have enjoyed their workouts over the past three years and find the machines to be new and well-maintained. The cleanliness of the showers also garnered positive feedback, although some users have expressed the need for additional amenities.
On the flip side, there have been reports of inconsiderate behavior by certain employees, particularly regarding handicap parking. One member recounted an incident involving an employee who parked in a designated handicap spot without proper justification, raising concerns about staff training on accessibility issues. Such experiences can undermine the inclusive environment Planet Fitness strives to create.
Planning Your Visit
For those considering membership at this location, planning your visit is crucial. The gym tends to be less crowded during off-peak hours, allowing for a more enjoyable workout experience without long wait times for equipment. Members often recommend going at times when the gym is less busy to maximize the quality of your workout.
Membership Benefits
Purchasing a membership at Planet Fitness provides access to various amenities, including hydro massage beds and total body enhancement machines, particularly beneficial for black card members. Many users find that these amenities add significant value to their membership, enhancing their overall experience.
Final Thoughts
In summary, while the Planet Fitness in Westminster, Colorado, offers accessibility, a generally friendly atmosphere, and valuable amenities, it is essential to remain aware of potential inconsistencies in service and maintenance. Prospective members should weigh the benefits of the facilities against the reported concerns to determine if this gym meets their fitness needs.

Bloody staff and unprofessional manager, I say! My younger brother has been using my black card and extra guest card for a fortnight now, but today they've decided I need to be present as well. Fair enough, I suppose. However, my 16-year-old brother was confronted in a rather aggressive manner by a member of the staff, asking if they were going to cause any trouble. I spoke to the manager, and he simply defended this behavior. The chaps running this establishment ought to be ashamed and undergo a proper evaluation, I tell you!
Cheryl Hamilton (5/19/25, 2:28 AM):
This gym is my favorite spot. I appreciate how affordable it is to become a member and it has all the equipment I require. If you're into classes, this gym may not be for you, but if you're self-driven, it's an excellent choice. There's an abundance of cardio machines, and I've never experienced any wait times. The front desk staff are extremely friendly.
Gregory Hayes (5/15/25, 1:04 PM):
This gym is quite lovely with modern equipment that is well maintained. It could benefit from some improved lighting, as it's rather dim in there.
Joshua Johnson (5/13/25, 7:34 PM):
I've been here for over a year now with a black card membership. It's a tidy gym, reasonable price, never encountered any issues there. They offer tanning, massage chairs, and such, plus you can bring a pal as many times as you like with a black card membership ($20/month).
Janet Nelson (5/12/25, 5:22 PM):
I say, this gym has taken a sharp turn for the worse, what a pity! All the top-notch staff members are jumping ship. Why, just the other day, one of the employees got all snappy with me because I was wearing headphones and needed to sort out a different payment method for my account, only to discover she's the new big cheese around here! The place is positively filthy, I tell you. This past weekend, the ladies' locker room was an absolute disaster, and it doesn't appear that anyone bothers to tidy up. The bin for feminine hygiene products was overflowing and utterly revolting! And would you believe it, every single paper towel dispenser is on the blink, which is quite the head-scratcher for a gym, don't you think? I shall certainly be taking my business elsewhere, a real shame considering I've been a patron here for 2 years.
Chloe Ross (5/12/25, 8:14 AM):
The place overall is quite good, I would give it a 4 out of 5, however, it's a bit frustrating to see that not many folks seem to be wearing their masks, and the employees don't really seem to be paying attention to it. It would be a shame if this place had to close down because of that. I do like coming here, but this one issue is bothersome.
Roger Torres (5/12/25, 8:05 AM):
Well, I must say, I shall be reaching out to the corporate office about this matter. I've been a faithful patron of this gym for more than a decade, spending hefty sums of money throughout the years. But today, I was taken aback when the manager asked me to speak with her privately, only to inform me that several members had lodged complaints about my supposed flirtatious behavior. Picture me standing there, utterly flabbergasted by the accusation.
As it turns out, the sole source of this accusation was a young lady whom I've had casual conversations with. At 61 years old, I never expected to be at the center of such a misunderstanding. This young lady once confided in me about how she constantly fends off advances from other individuals, and now it appears her words have been misconstrued. The manager not only embarrassed me but also fabricated claims about other members lodging complaints.
I've made up my mind to terminate my membership and escalate this issue to the higher-ups. This day manager at the branch on 72nd street has already driven away numerous employees, and now it seems she's targeting members as well. I intend to advise my acquaintances to cancel their memberships and switch over to 24-hour fitness.
Catherine Parker (5/8/25, 10:42 PM):
My Planet Fitness at 72nd and Sheridan is a very friendly place. It's a splendid gym if you're looking for cardio and circuit training. You can locate all your heart desires except for a swimming pool. I am a privileged Black Card member. I relish the massage chairs, hydro table, and the complimentary guest perk. The staff is remarkably accommodating and the gym is impeccably tidy.
Katherine Clark (5/7/25, 3:19 PM):
The Westminster spot, top-notch customer service, spotless establishment. My initial visit to a Planet Fitness, it was brilliant. So straightforward and convenient.
Henry Coleman (5/7/25, 6:48 AM):
I 'ave been a member for 7 years now, and there 'ave been some changes lately that are not quite up to snuff. Firstly, in the recent months, when I show up on Monday mornings at 5am ready to pump iron, I find the bloomin' doors locked! This 'as 'appened thrice now, and so I've stopped goin' on Monday mornings altogether. I've got a tight schedule to get to work on time, and if I can't rely on 'em bein' open, then what's the point, right? Moreov'er, when I try to nab some paper towels to wipe down the weight machines, the dispensers are kaput! Most of 'em are broken, and the few that are still standin' don't 'ave any bleedin' paper left in 'em. Up until these past months, I 'ad no beef with the place, but it's clear as day that the management is lettin' things slide.
Ashley Perez (5/7/25, 4:59 AM):
Pros: Impeccably maintained equipment, operates around the clock, staffed by knowledgeable professionals.
Cons: Relatively smaller footprint results in a more intimate space, potentially leading to a sensation of crowding. Massage chairs may lack the latest features, potentially causing discomfort post-treatment. Absence of a hydro lounge and need for repairs in the parking lot contribute to an overall dated feel. Personally, my preference leans towards the Planet Fitness on 120th and Sheridan Blvd (CO) due to its comprehensive updates and amenities.
Dorothy Reed (5/6/25, 6:53 PM):
I absolutely adore this Planet Fitness branch. Even though I reside in downtown Denver, I opt to make the drive to this facility because the staff here are simply splendid. They have a knack for remembering your name and always greet you with a warm smile and engaging conversation. If Allen, Christian, or Danielle are at the front desk - rest assured, you'll be in good hands - no doubt about it.
Jordan Hill (5/6/25, 11:48 AM):
"He is one of them. He took way too long in there." This comment was passed from one clerk to another clerk, discussing the time I spent in the changing room after my gym session. I am 1200 miles away from home. My home gym, where the staff is fantastic, is situated on Baxter Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. I'm not bothered by how long I spend in there. I have a black card membership for a reason. I am here in Colorado learning a new trade. Thank you. Apologies that I don't own a winter cabin in Aspen. I simply want to take a shower after work and a workout. That's why I pay my membership fees. The showers are wonderfully powerful and warm, unlike the weak and cold service provided here. Perhaps if the twig-like girls behind the counter also worked out, they would be less concerned about who is taking their time to get clean after getting dirty.
Lucy Myers (5/5/25, 11:50 AM):
I've been to this location twice now and was a tad disappointed, I must say. It's my first time ever being a member of a gym, you see. Before signing up, I was regaled with tales of how splendid this establishment is and how a staff member would guide me around, providing a comprehensive overview of all the perks included in my membership. Alas, during my visit, all I was informed of was the location of the women's locker room. Nevertheless, it must be said that this place is impeccably clean!
Alice Edwards (5/4/25, 10:45 PM):
I will NEVER buy another membership from Planet Fitness again because of their "corporate policies." I moved away from Westminster a couple years back. Since then, they refuse to cancel my account without me signing cancellation paperwork in person (which is impossible), or sending a letter with my agreement number and barcode number. I've already done that, but oh dear, it seems they didn't receive it. I'm fed up with the games they play when you try to cancel a membership. Every other gym allows cancellations over the phone. Don't waste your money on this company because once they have your account number, they'll make it as difficult as possible to stop charging your account.
Theresa Ortiz (5/2/25, 1:56 AM):
I've had the pleasure of training in most of the gyms here in Colorado. Planet Fitness is quite a standard setup like many chain gyms, but it offers all the essentials to keep oneself in shape and enhance physical performance. The team is welcoming and supportive, the management is well-informed and engaging in case you have any queries. I chose to switch from Vasa Fitness due to the commute and joined Planet Fitness. Honestly, I haven't really considered returning as I am content here and achieve a similar workout as before.
My only wish is that they had fewer treadmills and allocated specific benches for bench pressing...just my personal preference.
Matthew Edwards (5/1/25, 2:27 AM):
There's always a treadmill available, or something is always open. I've never had to wait for anything there except for the water fountain. There is loads of new equipment, big TV's, huge fans, and everything is incredibly clean.
I use the showers there, and they're really clean, but everything there is spotless all the time. I just wish they had a hot tub. I absolutely adore this place.
Alexander Jackson (4/29/25, 3:08 PM):
This place is absolutely brilliant. I can pop in and out whenever necessary and always have a fantastic workout. I just wish everyone would wipe down their equipment like most folks do. "Hey, mate, you're not all that, give the equipment a good wipe-down."
Carl Wright (4/27/25, 3:03 AM):
The staff is quite friendly and the place is always kept clean. The machines are in good condition.
Roy Simmons (4/25/25, 11:12 AM):
I am terribly let down. I used to be a member of Planet Fitness when they first arrived here. As I am now back in Arvada, I decided to pop in for a quick chat. After cycling 20 miles, I entered the spacious lobby with my pristine mountain bike, only to be met with the words, "Bikes must be outside and locked up!" I promptly took my bike outside and departed. This is not the welcoming approach one expects in a customer-centric industry. Had they first asked how they could assist me or politely requested that I move my bike outside, I would have understood. However, if this is the initial interaction, I'll pass. This kind of attitude signifies extremely poor customer service.
All I wanted was a brief look inside the premises before returning another day to sign up. As I mentioned, I'll search for a different gym.
