I brought my daughter for a trial last night and have decided not to enroll her. I wanted to take a moment to explain why, though, and please understand that this comes from a place of love and respect as I have an extensive background in gymnastics, coaching, and managing. I will start by saying my daughter loved her class and the recreational portion was fine. The coach she had did really well and seemed happy to be coaching, engaged with the kids in the class, etc. My concern lies with the team and some things I observed while we were there. It is my belief that the team sets the tone for the gym. The girls and their attitudes and behaviors create a culture in the gym that the younger kids in recreational classes look up to and hopefully grow into if they love the sport and want to continue into the team. While the coaches who were present had smiles on and spotted, gave corrections, etc., during the time they were on the floor working on tumbling passes, the girls were throwing equipment in the air, running across the floor in the middle of other girls trying to take their turns, climbing all over the mats, one girl was laying on the large cheese mat in such a way that it was bending funny over the mat at the end of the tumble track (doing things like that with mats will damage them and cause them to break down a lot faster), multiple girls were on their phones during practice (while waiting in line for turns on the floor, not during break time) and digging in their bags for chips, candy, and cookies, climbing over the barrier wall instead of walking around it, etc. There were also a few girls who were causing issues with each other and trying to get one particular girl in trouble. When considering gymnastics and finding a place for my daughter, those things are very important to me because they show me my daughter's potential future in that gym. Here, there just seemed to be quite a bit of disorganization and chaos. I would love to keep her in the class she tried because she did enjoy it, I’m just not convinced that what I saw from the team is what I want my daughter to emulate. I do understand it’s not a JO team, it’s Xcel which is less intense, but none of the above should be happening on any gym team in my opinion. I’m not sure if these concerns are a consistent issue or not, but I felt compelled to share my perspective as someone with a background in the sport. I wish this gym the best and hope my experience last night is not the norm.

If you're aiming to get your youngsters involved in gymnastics, this is the place to be.

Our four daughters (3, 6, 7, 9) went from not knowing a cartwheel to speaking fluent gymnast within a few weeks. They adore it here and would go five days a week if they could.

We've been attending for months now. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting the owner. However, Riley and the coaching staff are fantastic! The receptionist always has a big, welcoming smile and greets every parent and child that walks through the door.

The coaching styles vary - my girls have had the chance to learn from various coaches, each with their unique styles and skills. Even with the 4-6 year olds, they are all amazing and incredibly patient.

The facility is wonderful. Tucked away in the executive center, so the traffic isn't too heavy during evening classes. There's also a fantastic coffee shop just across the street (within walking distance) that serves real fruit smoothies - a relatively healthy treat for the kids after an hour of working out.

The prices are just right. We started with a well-priced Groupon that got us through the door. Once we tried it, we were hooked. My girls were literally reading upside down on their heads after school.

My favorite part about Gym Stars is their monthly Parent's Night Out. For a very reasonable price - cheaper than hiring a babysitter - we drop the girls off at 5:30 on Saturday night and pick them up at 9:30.

I understand that Parent's Night Out includes open gym time, games, pizza, popcorn, and movies. I also associate PNO with the chance to take my wife out on dates.

A+ establishment! Give them a call to inquire if they are still offering a *FREE* trial class for you to test out.

My daughters 'ave been members of the Gym stars team for years and we absolutely adore the positive atmosphere and lovely coaches. We 'ave given other teams in the valley a go, but they 'ad a rather negative and overly competitive culture that was makin' my girls lose interest in the sport they loved. Switchin' to gym stars was truly the best decision we ever made!
Larry Davis (4/27/25, 10:29 AM):
Thanks to a splendid referral, our daughter embarked on her Gym Stars journey in 2023. She delved into various classes and progressed steadily, acquiring new skills under the expert guidance of the phenomenal coaches. Transitioning to different classes was seamless, and I wholeheartedly suggest exploring the Pre Team for kids keen on team participation. Her anticipation for her inaugural year on the team knows no bounds – Hooray! Gym Stars has been a perfect match for our family!
Nancy Lee (4/26/25, 10:54 AM):
Gym Stars is an absolutely fabulous spot! The trainers really take the time to demonstrate the correct techniques to the children, and they are incredibly patient and friendly. My daughter is a part of the Bronze Xcel team, and she has thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it! If you're in search of a gym that will exceed your expectations, then look no further! The trainers are truly exceptional. Thank you, Gym Stars!

Andrea and Rachel are the finest gym coaches in this neck of the woods! Absolutely adore visiting Gym Stars. Would give 10 stars if I had the chance.
Samuel Rogers (4/24/25, 7:00 PM):
We've recently moved from Southern California. Came across this gym on Instagram and took my 8-year-old daughter to an open gym session. She absolutely adored it from the get-go. After her fantastic experience at the open gym, she got the chance to take one complimentary class. Once again, it was brilliant. She's made great progress in the past 6 months. My 10-year-old son also joins in on the open gym nights and he's a big fan too.

We're grateful for the reasonable pricing of the classes and the personalized attention each coach gives to her. Looking forward to many more years at GymStars!
Evelyn Ramirez (4/22/25, 3:19 PM):
Absolutely adore this gymnastics center for my girls! The coaches and staff are top-notch. My girls eagerly anticipate their visits every week!
Brittany Hernandez (4/22/25, 1:05 AM):
Oh, we absolutely adore Gymstars! Andrea and Natalie have truly brought out the best in my little girl, encouraging her to exceed her limits and overcome any doubts or fears she may have had. She'd been at a different gym for a whole year, and was beginning to lose interest as she didn't feel like she was being properly challenged there. But here, oh boy, they push her to her limits every single day! And she absolutely loves it! She's now part of the team, and she's always bubbling with excitement to come to classes with her teammates and coaches. The focus at Gymstars is not just about fun, but also about striving to be the best and working hard. We would wholeheartedly recommend Gymstars to everyone, regardless of age, to come and see for themselves what a wonderful place it is!
Amber Morales (4/20/25, 5:07 AM):
My kiddos absolutely adore Gym Stars! They offer classes for kids of all ages and skill levels, and my little ones always look forward to the super affordable open gym night.
Julia Thompson (4/19/25, 6:13 PM):
My 7-year-old has been attending the gymnastics center for just over a year now. She's had fantastic instructors and coaches who have taught her a lot. The owner, Andrea, is also her team coach, and she's been wonderful to collaborate with. It's been a fantastic experience for both my daughter and me up to this point.
Jeremy Graham (4/12/25, 1:07 PM):
Absolutely smashing time for the kiddos!
Andrew Ross (4/9/25, 5:36 PM):
We absolutely adore Gym Stars! 2 1/2 years back, we walked into this gym to try out for the Team with no clue what we were getting ourselves into (none of us in our family has ever tried gymnastics before, and my daughter has two older brothers).

The coaches welcomed my daughter, who was 7 at the time, with open arms (and they welcomed us parents too). There were some challenging days and weeks (like in any sport, you have to put in the practice time and it's not a walk in the park!) My daughter struggled with behavior during the first 2 years of practice (goofing off, not taking things seriously, etc). I appreciate that the coaches were very upfront with her and us (the parents). Andrea set clear expectations, and my daughter has truly benefitted from that discipline. I love that these coaches focus on building character as well as teaching amazing gymnastics skills.

All the love, encouragement, discipline, and FUN have truly paid off. We are now embarking on our 3rd year with the competitive Team, and my daughter has made great progress in her skills. The coaches (especially Andrea and Emily) have been there for Grace from the start and continue to support her growth. I love that they push her but also offer a hug when needed.

In the last season with the Team (Winter 23-24), we were the 'returning team members' on the Bronze team, and I saw many instances with the coaches, girls, and parents. At one Meet towards the end of the season, one girl was hesitant to leave her grandparent's side for warm-ups. A few of us Moms tried everything, and finally, I reached out to Andrea (owner/head coach) to explain the situation. She immediately left the floor and spent nearly 10 minutes with our teammate. She successfully got the girl onto the floor, and she ended up having a fantastic Meet. It was truly heartwarming to see the care and concern of the coaches - this means more to me than winning medals.

As a mom to a gymnast, I really value the direct conversations (in person or via email) with the coaches. I know I can always ask questions, and the answers are always considerate and tailored to my daughter. There are options given, along with opinions, but ultimately, there's space for parents to make the best decisions for their children. This Gym and this team have truly become our daughter's second home. Many thanks to all the coaches for being part of our Team.
Charles Collins (4/8/25, 8:56 AM):
My daughter absolutely adores Gym Stars. She's part of the Xcel team and it's gonna be her second year in competition. We made the switch from another gym as we were seeking a positive environment with caring coaches who truly focus on the athletes. What I really appreciate is that my daughter isn't pressured to clock in as many hours as some of the other gyms around town. As parents, we have the flexibility to select the meets she competes in. I've witnessed a remarkable improvement in her skills since joining – the gym encourages her to explore new techniques. She genuinely looks forward to every practice session!
