I've been training at Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu for 2 months, and I can't say enough good things about this place! The facility is top-notch, always clean, and well-maintained. The atmosphere is incredibly welcoming, making it an ideal environment for both beginners and experienced practitioners.

The coaches are truly exceptional. Coach Doug brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every class, breaking down techniques in a way that's easy to understand. Coach Anthony is always patient and encouraging, pushing us to improve while ensuring we grasp the fundamentals. Coach Devon has a unique teaching style that keeps training fun and engaging.

What sets this gym apart is the sense of community. Everyone here, from the coaches to the fellow students, is supportive and friendly. I've made great friends and feel like part of a family.

When I first joined, I was overweight and worried about fitting in or keeping up. The coaches and members were incredibly supportive, and their encouragement has been invaluable. I’m still on my journey and still overweight, but training here has shown me that this is the way to change that. If I can do it, you can too!

Whether you're looking to compete, get in shape, or just learn self-defense, Egley Train Boise Jiu Jitsu is the place to be. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai!

The training at this Martial Arts school is truly exceptional, catering to a variety of skill levels. The atmosphere is welcoming and strikes a perfect balance between focused training, skills education, and challenging high-level sessions for more advanced students. Head professor Mike Egley and black belt Colton Vaughn are both exceptional instructors who have helped me prepare for and succeed in world tournaments in a surprisingly short time span through their top-tier training methods. Whether you're looking to enhance your skills or are simply curious about learning martial arts, this is the ideal place to begin. The staff is fantastic and the facilities are top-notch. Don't hesitate to drop by and see for yourself.
Nancy Williams (5/8/25, 5:26 AM):
What a brilliant facility with top-notch coaches, I must say. Being a complete novice, I was quite nervous to begin, but the warm and welcoming atmosphere put me at ease. The camaraderie among members is truly heartwarming, and the dedication to helping each other improve is evident. It feels like becoming part of a close-knit family. I cannot emphasize enough how highly I recommend this place.
Emma Alexander (5/6/25, 10:42 AM):
My lad 'as been takin' classes 'ere for about a year and it was the best decision. Coach Mike, along with the other coaches, are doin' great work to build me son’s self-confidence, discipline, and ability to defend 'imself. The gym 'as a great community built around it too, ideal for family.
Diane Thomas (5/5/25, 7:09 PM):
Like I be seein' on 'ere from a couple other people I was lured in on an Instagram promotion offerin' a “free 6 week program” which be incorrect. I felt like I was in a sales call from the very get go. I was asked the exact same questions that were on the page I was asked to fill out which was very repetitive. It all felt and seemed scripted. He slipped in the so called deposit towards the end of the pitch. A non refundable “deposit” which they call accountability and the money goes towards classes after the initial 6 weeks which are actually priced higher than the standard weekly fee. When I pushed back and indicated I was not going to be spending 600 dollars today, he got overly aggressive towards closing a sale and just completely made me not ever want to spend a dime in this place. Didn’t really catch any good vibes or energy being there at all.
Kelly Wright (5/3/25, 9:32 PM):
I recently took part in the beginner program at Egley Train, and it was truly fantastic! I had always been curious about Jiu Jitsu, but felt a bit hesitant to dive right in. The beginner program they offer was just what I needed. I came in with no prior knowledge of Jiu Jitsu or wrestling and was not in the best shape, but the Egley team made it incredibly welcoming and accessible for me to start. It was definitely challenging, but it has now become a hobby that I am excited to continue pursuing.

So, if you are thinking about joining or trying out the beginner program even just a little bit, go for it.
Janice Turner (5/3/25, 2:18 PM):
I've been training with Egley Train for over 6 months now, and let me tell you, EVERYONE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I'm thrilled to be part of this fantastic community. The support, positivity, and responsibility have been exactly what I was looking for...in more ways than one. Not only has this dojo transformed my physique (I've lost 30 lbs), but also my mental and emotional health. I'm not kidding...this has truly changed my life!
Danielle Lee (5/1/25, 2:25 PM):
This place is absolutely brilliant for honing your skills and delving deeper into the world of grappling. Michael is a fantastic teacher, offering top-tier Jiu Jitsu instruction. Why not pop in and see for yourself if you're keen to take your Jiu Jitsu game to the next level?
Amy Watson (5/1/25, 8:54 AM):
An unexpected surprise I had was anticipating yoga but it turned out even better as I got to step out of my comfort zone and try some wrestling while also learning some jujutsu as a first-timer. It was absolutely awesome and so much fun! Learning from some badass world athletes was a real treat. I had really missed wrestling and this place made my dreams come true.
Betty Coleman (4/29/25, 4:45 PM):
I've known Mike Egley since we were white belts. He's a big, strong lad who can train with the tiniest person in the gym with expert technique and skill. I trust his teaching and his understanding of jiu-jitsu as well as his personal character. He's a top bloke, and anyone in the area who wants to start or experienced martial artists looking to grow or compete couldn't ask for a better coach.
Mary Graham (4/27/25, 2:27 PM):
Top-notch spot to kick off your jiu-jitsu journey. I've been at it for a year and a half. The coaches are incredibly supportive and take the time to work with you one-on-one to ensure your success! I'm so thankful I stumbled upon Egley Train Boise!
Brenda Rodriguez (4/18/25, 11:27 PM):
My wee lass started attending the 4-7 year old class at Egley. Coach Emily and Coach Anthony are absolutely brilliant instructors. They exhibit a great deal of patience and skill in simplifying techniques so that she can fully engage and learn. If you're considering enrolling your child in jiu-jitsu, I wholeheartedly endorse Egley Boise! Packed with fantastic coaches and staff. Impeccably clean, friendly, and inviting.
Elizabeth Hill (4/17/25, 7:34 AM):
Absolutely smashing beginner 6-week class! The blokes over at ETB BJJ are a right knowledgeable, kind, and supportive bunch. You'll be learning from top-notch BJJ coaches who'll treat you proper well and welcome you into the fam. The facilities, mats, and gear are kept spick and span, you wouldn't even reckon that a bunch of sweaty folks are grappling there nearly every day (hah!)

I can't recommend this place enough, it's worth every shilling.

Now, about the beginner class, each week you'll dive right into techniques that are used regularly and you'll see quick improvements in your own skills with the brilliant coaches making sure you've got the moves down pat.

And let me tell you, everyone at this gym is just top-notch people, and the community they've built here will easily stand the test of time.

10 outta 10. 💯 5 stars.
Angela Myers (4/16/25, 6:31 PM):
Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, Michael Egley, and 'is staff are among the elite instructors in Idaho. The instruction, like the facility is top tier. The academy is clean, inviting and friendly.

Whether you are brand new or 'ave trained for years, this is a great place to learn somethin' new, improve your fitness, and do it along a great group of individuals.

Stop by, take a tour and check out the sauna that members can use!
Jeremy Hamilton (4/14/25, 8:29 PM):
I 'ave completed the 6 week challenge to gat me foot in the door for somethin' I've always fancied doin' and couldn't be more chuffed. The atmosphere is right friendly and all the coaches are well knowledgeable. I 'ope to be part of this community for a right long time and highly recommend this to anyone who's wanted to give jiu-jitsu a go!
Sharon Cooper (4/14/25, 5:38 PM):
This is a smashing dojo! I 'ad no experience in self-defence so I was a bit nervous about startin' summat that was outside of me knowledge and comfort zone. The instructors and coaches are right kind and will work with you personally. There's an accountability piece with the daily check-in via the app and the two in-person meetings throughout the program. I highly recommend takin' both jujitsu and strikin' classes as you can see two completely different forms of self-defence for different situations you might find yourself in. Cheers!
Zoey Jackson (4/14/25, 9:10 AM):
Top-notch facility, with a spacious mat area and a warm family atmosphere. The head coach is not only a highly skilled competitor but also a committed instructor. Whether you're training casually or aiming to compete at a high level, this is the place to be in Boise!
Jerry Foster (4/13/25, 7:39 AM):
Just wrapped up my first month at Egley Train Boise and I must say, it's been an absolute cracker. The atmosphere is top-notch and the coaches and team are spot on. Cheers!
Ruth Hayes (4/10/25, 8:56 PM):
Ladies and gentlemen who have come across the advertisement on Instagram/Facebook, please do not be tempted to sign up for this free training/boot camp without asking questions and making sure you understand the hidden rules before enrolling in this so-called free program/boot camp. It is indeed a deceptive advertisement, and they will entice you by requesting a non-refundable deposit.

A few years back, I lost $250 of my hard-earned cash without realizing it was a scam. I find it hard to believe that this deceitful practice is still happening.
Chloe Clark (4/9/25, 12:45 PM):
Brilliant spot! I was in search of a more engaging way to keep fit than hitting up a regular gym. Wasn't quite convinced that jiujitsu would be my thing, but had heard some great reviews and fancied giving it a go. Absolutely adored my first class. The folks there are all so friendly and supportive!
