I've been to plenty of gyms, but never have I been pushed as hard as when I trained with Matt at Four Horseman Fitness. He really put me through my paces and tailored the workouts for my needs. Matt is a bloke with top-notch coaching skills and heaps of experience. I reckon he truly makes an effort to understand his clients and provides brilliant cues for proper form to steer clear of injuries. The smaller group classes are spot on, as each person gets the attention they deserve. They've got exercise options listed on a board (like 'squat/lower body', 'cardio', 'upper body', etc.) so you can pick your poison, and Matt will tweak things to suit your personal goals. I would definitely give him a thumbs up!

I 'av nevah been to a gym before and nevah 'ad a personal trainer. When I met Matt, 'e listened and talked wif me about my goals. 'E is an amazin' trainer and is very knowledgeable about wot 'e does. My main priorities include excelling on the slopes and trails with my skis and mountain bike while also staying injury-free. Matt and Coach K have been instrumental in helping me achieve these goals over the past 2 years, as well as setting new strength PRs! I've been under Matt's guidance for almost three years now - during this time, I've witnessed impressive increases in strength that I previously would have deemed unattainable, effectively pre-habbed and re-habbed from injuries sustained outside of the gym, and overall felt fantastic. It genuinely feels like one-on-one personal coaching, without being financially prohibitive, and I firmly believe Matt's coaching approach surpasses that of most fitness trainers today.
Since becoming a member, I've acquired a wealth of knowledge about correct technique, training more intelligently, and pushing myself in the right manner. I've been working out with Matt since 2020 and I just keep on coming back despite life's challenges! He is incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at finding the right balance between pushing me to my limits and giving me some leeway. I've trained with various trainers in the past, but none have matched his expertise in this. Recently, he brought on another trainer, and I must say that I typically prefer male trainers, yet Kathryn has surpassed my expectations. She is equally adept at knowing when to push me and when to make adjustments. They both seem to have a sixth sense and magically appear during a set to encourage me to keep going... do as many as I can, never give up, you can do it, get it! And surprisingly, I manage to squeeze out a few more reps. 😱 💪 😍 I have struggled with major knee and hip injuries in the past that were quite disabling, but they have been great at modifying exercises for me without holding me back due to those injuries. The longer I train with them, the stronger and more flexible I become. Matt transformed me, and they can do the same for you. Don't give up on yourself and give them a chance to show you how. You won't be disappointed.
