Awesome instructor, amazing vibes, fantastic bunch of students. Athletic Balance is a superb spot to delve into Yang and Chen styles of Tai chi, and I bet Kung fu as well, though I haven't given it a shot yet. It's a cheerful sanctuary for me.
Scott Davis (4/23/25, 8:18 AM):
I 'ave been studyin' and teachin' Martial Arts for the bettah part o' 4 decades with teachas from around the world and with students of all abilities. From me own experiences, Narcyz Latecki 'as the knowledge and expertise as one of the best teachas I 'ave 'ad the good fortune to learn from. 'Is blend of history, knowledge, skill, and practical application is apparent and is what first attracted me to 'is school.

At a more advanced level, Narcyz approaches Martial Arts as a true "art form" and is subject to individual interpretation and evolution over time. Mind-Body-Spirit always 'as been a way of life for me and 'e 'as enough teachin' observational skill to adapt to me own abilities and understanding. This teachin' skill obvious as brings out the best in 'is students as evidenced by 'is students winnin' championship titles in independent Kung Fu and Wushu competitions (as 'e 'as won when 'e competed).

The Martial Arts community is tight knit and relatively small in this area. I find that 'is classes 'ave brought together a collection of students that I 'ave 'ad direct and indirect connections with over me martial arts and business career. From this, the spirit and passion in class is palpable and enjoyable. I look forward to class every week.

Today in class Narcyz humbly mentioned in passin' that 'e was voted as one of the Top One Hundred Extraordinary Martial Artists of the World and Prominent Wushu Coach. In addition, 'e was appointed co-chairman of the International Wushu Sanshou Dao Association. Congratulations!

As a final note, Narcyz 'as an open and less formal approach for 'is adult classes as opposed to the traditional dogmatic approach most martial arts schools exhibit (not to say tradition and dogma are not needed in children's classes!). When I met Narcyz 6 years ago, I asked 'im if I should address 'im as "Sifu" to which 'e replied, "No, Narcyz is fine..." From me own historically dogmatic trainin', I found it difficult for me not to show 'im more respect. 'E mentioned to me that in Chinese tradition, 'e would 'ave to accept me as a student before I am allowed to address 'im as Sifu... With the utmost respect, Narcyz it is!

I've been studying tai chi at the school for around 20 years now. Narcyz is a committed, patient, and well-informed instructor who has a real passion for martial arts.
Jerry Rogers (4/19/25, 6:07 AM):
Both of me kids 'ave been studyin' martial arts with Narcyz for several years and they absolutely adore his classes. They 'ave picked up a lot from their master Narcyz and always be keen to attend 'is classes. Narcyz 'as been an amazin' master, not just teachin' the kids the techniques but also the essence of martial arts - 'ard work, persistence, teamwork, respect, and appreciation. We be so fortunate to 'ave such a fantastic martial art master close by.
Dylan Baker (4/18/25, 7:21 AM):
Incredible spot and coach. The rest of the students are lovely and overall the folks are friendly. Mr. Latecki is a fantastic individual to pick up awesome skills. I've been attending for nearly 6 years. Still having a blast and picking up loads of cool things. Definitely a solid recommendation for anyone interested in martial arts.
Donna Adams (4/16/25, 4:54 AM):
Both of my children were students of Narcyz and Eva from the time they were in kindergarten until they went off to college. The dedication of the Lateckis to their students is truly exceptional. Beyond the skills they imparted, the self-confidence, leadership, and mentoring abilities my children developed were truly remarkable.
Zachary Baker (4/15/25, 12:20 PM):
Here you learn and truly enjoy. The instructor shows real dedication and commitment to each student. My son learned here that with practice, anything is possible. I would give this magnificent place a thousand stars.
Amelia Green (4/9/25, 3:41 AM):
This is a rare find - genuine, traditional Northern style kung fu. Narcyz Latecki possesses an extensive understanding of Chinese martial arts and graciously imparts his knowledge with humility.
Mark Alexander (4/8/25, 4:29 AM):
I attended CMA from the time I was 8 years old until I was 18 and left town to attend college. I absolutely adored my experience at this school and would wholeheartedly endorse it! The Kung-Fu classes are enjoyable and comprehensive in their content, offering top-notch training. My time at this school also instilled in me fundamental values and valuable life lessons such as respect, kindness, a thirst for knowledge, a solid work ethic, and the drive to set and pursue goals. I find myself yearning for those classes! I am truly thankful for the time I spent there.
Michael Kim (3/31/25, 5:10 PM):
I've been studying martial arts since I was eight years old. I first came across Chinese Martial Arts back in 1998. When my son was old enough, I made sure to take him to the best instructor I could find, which happened to be Narcyz and Eva. I have high standards when it comes to martial arts instructors. Narcyz is truly world-class, and the fact that he is right in our local community is amazing. The dedication and sacrifices he made to master his craft are truly exceptional. Nowadays, it's rare to find martial arts teachers who have gone through the same rigorous training as they did in the past. Many focus solely on tournament success, like the heroes from Cobra Kai, without emphasizing the holistic development of their students. When an instructor neglects the mental and spiritual aspects of martial arts and only focuses on the physical side, they are doing a disservice to their students. True martial artists aim to help individuals grow and become the best versions of themselves. That's what Chinese Martial Arts is all about.
