I 'aven't been there yet, but blimey, I 'ad a look and I can't wait to go!! It looks like there's a right lotta things to do, and the hours are bang on from 7am to 8pm. Can't top that for just $6!!
Raymond Reyes (4/16/25, 12:29 PM):
They 'ave shortened the days and hours, mate. The outdoor pool was out o' service for most o' the summer. The indoor pool hours 'ave been chopped down to about 'alf o' what they were before Covid, innit. Cheers!

Quite lovely. Walking paths, play area. Tidy & well-maintained.
Ethan Taylor (4/16/25, 12:40 AM):
Lovely recreation center. The rates are fantastic and they offer a wide variety of classes. Don't forget about their amazing outdoor pool during the summer months!
Louis Jenkins (4/14/25, 4:25 PM):
I must say, I am terribly disappointed with their service. My partner and I applied as a couple within the town limits and were informed that if we did not file taxes together, we would not be considered a couple! Would the same rule apply if we were a same-sex couple??? Particularly considering that the rules and guidelines did not clearly define what constitutes a couple!!! Such poor service!!
Douglas Robinson (4/14/25, 2:30 PM):
Lovely pool! A tad peculiar in its layout but very helpful staff and excellent changing facilities! Perfect for mermaid tail swimming.
Joe Richardson (4/14/25, 2:17 PM):
Fabulous basketball court, indoor pool, outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor track, cardio equipment, bike room, weight room, free weight room, and a wonderful staff! The most competitive rates in the area!
Timothy Hayes (4/13/25, 10:53 AM):
Joyful and delightful recreation center.
Mark Thompson (4/13/25, 8:51 AM):
This is a marvelous spot for everyone, mate! You can find a cracking swimming pool indoors, some top-notch trails outside, and even some smashing tennis courts. Cheers!
Roger Carter (4/13/25, 7:57 AM):
I would HEEVER recommend this pool, old chap. The pool is dreadfully filthy with green goop making one's tootsies slide about. There were rascally kids pilfering me own wee ones' toys. Upon departing, we ventured into the changing quarters only to encounter a NUDE lady displaying her nether regions, which quite shook up the little ones. When we alerted the lifeguard, he seemed uncertain if such behavior was permissible, how can that be? And then a lady, not even involved, started bellowing at me and impolitely declared that lockers are for privacy. Do refrain from visiting this establishment, it's a ghastly pool. Best to steer clear if seeking a safe and tidy locale for your youngsters.
Gregory Patterson (4/10/25, 7:36 PM):
It would be really helpful if someone could assist seniors with learning how to use and operate the exercise equipment. The recreation center is fantastic though, and we really enjoy our time there!
Margaret Cox (4/10/25, 8:20 AM):
Lovely recreational spot for a workout. Offers discounts for college students and a wide variety of exercise options.
Jeremy James (4/10/25, 3:03 AM):
Lovely spot for a day out. Tons of activities to enjoy. We're fortunate to have such a gem in our community.
Keith Smith (4/10/25, 1:40 AM):
So, a couple of weeks back, I took my dear mum to the Coomes Center to check out the swimming options for an elderly lady like her. The pool hours, both indoor and outdoor, are just not convenient at all. There are hardly any open swim times available now. The pricing is quite steep for college students and military personnel as well. While we were inspecting the pool area, my mum was met by a rather large lady who was incredibly brusque. The Coomes Center used to be a blast when I was a kid, but it has sadly turned into a major letdown in my opinion.
Abigail Ramos (4/9/25, 5:15 PM):
The vast playground area and the inviting lobby make this a fantastic place for families to pop in. We will surely take advantage of it when we stay overnight in Abingdon during our travels.
Zachary Torres (4/9/25, 3:34 PM):
Aye, whilst the playgrounds, pools, and gyms may be rather fine, I must say that the skaters and skatepark have been sadly overlooked. The ramps are beginning to peel up, and everything seems to be set up all wrong.
Frank Reynolds (4/9/25, 2:42 PM):
Reasonably priced family enjoyment. Swimming pool, jacuzzi, running track, gym equipment, basketball court, and group fitness sessions available. Child supervision services are also offered.
Margaret Foster (4/8/25, 3:53 PM):
My granddaughter was playing volleyball. The gym is rather petite and lacks sufficient seating... the staff weren't particularly welcoming either... but for a spot to play volleyball, it gets the job done.
Teresa Watson (4/7/25, 8:42 PM):
I'm quite disappointed by the lack of shade. With the temperature at a balmy 72 degrees, my child and I were feeling exhausted after just 35 minutes of play under the scorching sun. Fortunately, we managed to find a shady spot to rest under one of the castle structures. It seems that swimming lessons were underway indoors at that time, with the outdoor pool season still yet to begin. I'm thinking of enrolling my child for lessons this summer once he turns 4.
Anna Long (4/7/25, 12:47 PM):
Fantastic recreational area suitable for all ages, with ample space for kids to frolic and have fun. The swimming pool and gym are conveniently located just across the parking area.
