The best, and only, rock climbing gym in the Concord Tri City region!
Helen Foster (6/11/25, 7:03 PM):
I popped in with a mate a couple months ago just for a lark and ended up absolutely smitten with climbing. Top-notch gym, lovely folks, and the staff are top-notch. It may be on the smaller side, but it's never too packed and that's a plus. Loads of quality rope routes and a neat little bouldering spot that ramps up the challenge as you improve. I was so taken with it that I splurged on gear and signed up for a membership after just my second visit. A cracking spot for newbies, plus plenty of tough climbs for the pros. Cheers!
Kathleen Lewis (6/11/25, 5:33 PM):
It's a smashing spot to get some training in, innit?
Dylan Coleman (6/9/25, 12:54 PM):
I 'ave a bunch of mates who go rock climbin' in the city, but since I work out o' Walnut Creek, I 'ad no time to join 'em. A colleague mentioned there was a gym in Walnut Creek, so I thought I'd give it a go.

Initially, I reckoned it was a bit small 'cause I was just bouldering, but as I got into top roping and 'it some 'arder routes, I found it to be a very amicable and cozy place.

This spot 'olds plenty of free events for members, and everyone I've spoken to that frequents this place absolutely loves it.
Mia Kim (6/9/25, 6:28 AM):
I ain't been to many climbing gyms afore, so I reckoned that the reason I was so impressed with this place was 'cos of my inexperience, but when I caught the bug, got back home to Florida, and tried to find somethin' similar I soon realized how special Diablo rock gym really is.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the facility is off the charts. Best of all, the atmosphere and folks there are infectious. Everyone is extremely encouraging, and wants to see you succeed, and will help you get there.

The fully equipped weight trainin' facility inside was a great bonus!

What an awesome place to get fit and have a lot of fun!
Rebecca Rivera (6/9/25, 12:04 AM):
The best thing about popping over to Diablo Rock Gym is that they've got themselves a proper massive parking lot 😁. With my Touchstone membership, I can swing by all the sites, but this here's the most convenient one for me. ...
Margaret Perez (6/6/25, 10:58 PM):
Splendid little friendly local gym!
Judy Morris (6/5/25, 11:40 PM):
Cheerful and accommodating folks, excellent challenges for both intermediate and novice climbers.
Thomas Myers (6/5/25, 2:26 PM):
Always a jolly good time, I must say!
Barbara Powell (6/2/25, 3:00 PM):
We absolutely adore this spot! It has a lovely family-friendly atmosphere and provides a wide range of activities beyond just rock climbing and bouldering. From spinning to weightlifting, yoga, and more, there's something for everyone. Organizing climbing parties for both kids and adults is a blast. They even have a dedicated room for pizza and cake parties which you need to reserve in advance. The facility is immaculately maintained and kept clean. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. It's a fantastic workout that's also a lot of fun. There are both easy and highly challenging climbing routes available. You can easily lose track of time while enjoying some active fun!
Virginia Hall (6/2/25, 1:18 PM):
Chill atmosphere, welcoming team.
Allison Thomas (5/30/25, 9:50 PM):
Absolutely smashing! My kiddos were chuffed to bits about climbing the wall alongside me.
Gregory Rodriguez (5/30/25, 7:51 PM):
It appears that this gym places a greater emphasis on rope climbing. The bouldering section is rather disappointing and limited :( It can get quite crowded during peak times due to its small size. While I understand that risks are inherent in the sport, having a larger mat space could potentially help reduce injuries.
Katherine Jackson (5/30/25, 6:10 PM):
The staff be extremely rude, unprofessional, and bring down the whole experience.
Carl Hamilton (5/29/25, 6:15 PM):
Great climbing gym

Cons:
Slightly smaller space for Touchstone climbing
Limited bouldering options

Pros:
Comes fully equipped: towels, showers, weights, and plenty of climbing opportunities
Douglas Evans (5/25/25, 9:35 PM):
Lovely spot to get a workout in, scale some walls, and unwind! Pleasant ambiance, with friendly folks of every age.
Teresa Thomas (5/25/25, 4:59 PM):
As someone who's just getting into rock climbing, Diablo Rock Gym's introduction to climbing class was exactly what I needed.

I'm terrible - TERRIBLE - at tying knots, but the instructor was extremely helpful and ensured I was on top of things and safe.

It all paid off in the end - the minute I got my yellow card, everything fell into place, and I had a fantastic time.

Thanks for everything - and for turning me into a fan!
Keith Richardson (5/25/25, 3:20 PM):
My favourite of all the Touchstone gyms in the Bay Area. Never too crowded, loads of climbs, and a splendid outdoor workout area for classes or general lifting. Indoor bike parking as well.
Paul Kim (5/22/25, 8:06 PM):
The website doth proclaim a "first come first serve" policy, yet upon our arrival, we were bid farewell as other climbers had made reservations via phone in the morn.
Gabriel Anderson (5/21/25, 2:54 AM):
Brilliant spot for a bit of climbing, innit?
