Crunch Fitness - Acworth: A Comprehensive Overview

Located in Acworth, Georgia, Crunch Fitness offers a variety of amenities designed to cater to fitness enthusiasts of all levels. While many members appreciate the equipment and community atmosphere, there are significant concerns about billing practices and customer service that potential members should consider before signing up.

Amenities at Crunch Fitness

Crunch Fitness in Acworth features a wide range of equipment, providing users with options for every workout routine. However, some members have expressed disappointment regarding the lack of a sauna, which is often a sought-after feature in gyms. Despite this, the gym maintains a clean environment and is well-equipped for various training needs.

Access and Inclusivity

The facility boasts a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, offering convenient accessibility for all members. This commitment to accessibility ensures that everyone can enjoy their fitness journey without barriers.

Membership Information

Many patrons have raised concerns regarding the membership policies at Crunch Fitness. While the gym advertises a "month-to-month" contract, numerous reviews indicate that a minimum commitment of three months is required to cancel a membership. Additionally, members reported facing challenges when attempting to cancel over the phone, with the requirement to visit in person—often resulting in unexpected fees.

User Experiences: Pros and Cons

The reception from members varies widely. On one hand, many appreciate the friendly and supportive environment, with positive mentions of staff interaction and community engagement. One member shared, "The staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is clean and always friendly!" On the other hand, several complaints focus on aggressive sales tactics related to personal training options and billing disputes that leave former members feeling frustrated and unheard.

Customer Service Concerns

Reports from members highlight a significant issue with customer service, particularly regarding billing and cancellation procedures. Multiple users noted that attempts to discuss problems with management often resulted in unhelpful responses or a lack of follow-through. One dissatisfied customer stated, "Their system got me good... I could have avoided this bad review for fixing a simple $30 late fee." This sentiment reflects a broader frustration among gym-goers who feel trapped by the contractual obligations imposed by the gym.

Final Thoughts

While Crunch Fitness in Acworth offers a vibrant community and good equipment, potential members must weigh the pros and cons before committing. Keep in mind that a membership is likely to require adherence to strict cancellation policies, and be sure to read the fine print carefully. Engaging with current members can provide insights into whether this gym aligns with your fitness goals and values.

Allow me to begin by expressing that a lot of the equipment is typically out of order. Furthermore, you have individuals recording themselves all around the gym, even with trainers assisting them in filming. What's going on here? This establishment is meant for individuals to come and exercise, not to record themselves for social media. Individuals are dedicating more time to sitting on equipment with their phones or recording videos than actually working out. Please, Crunch management, why aren't you addressing this issue? Not everyone has the luxury of spending two hours at the gym waiting for others to complete their recordings or phone browsing. Why are trainers aiding members in wasting time? If I do not observe a transformation, I will escalate this matter to the higher-ups, as the management at this location consistently behaves like teenagers at the front desk.

I've been visiting this gym for about 5 months already. Usually, my interactions with the front desk staff have been positive. However, on two occasions when the general manager, Shauna, was at the front, she came across as rude and condescending towards me. I can understand having a rough day, but both times I've talked to her, she has maintained a tone that implies she believes she is superior and more intelligent than me. Everyone else at the gym has been extremely friendly.

I absolutely adore this place! The team here is simply magnificent, and my trainer Austin is an absolute gem! Always so supportive and motivating, he really pushes me out of my comfort zone. Each session is a learning experience, and I definitely feel the burn during and after! Their team has been my main source of motivation, helping me overcome insecurities and feel secure in such a vulnerable environment. Everyone has their own struggles and goals, but there's no judgment here. They've become more than just trainers to me, they're my friends now. I genuinely look forward to my workouts and sharing my progress with the team, who are always thrilled and proud of me, no matter the result! ♥️

This Gym 'as bloomin' amazing personal trainers, the folks that come in are right respectful. It's an amazing environment especially for beginners with good music. Even at it's peak times you're not waiting too long for machines. Thank you blokes for 'avin' a clean upbeat positive environment. Cheers!

The best decision I ever made was enrolling at Crunch Acworth and having SALMA as my personal trainer! She is incredibly knowledgeable and dedicated to helping others. SALMA goes the extra mile and has greatly assisted me with my knee condition and reaching my fitness goals. I highly recommend her! But that's not all, the staff is extremely welcoming and makes you feel like part of the family!
Dorothy Sullivan (4/20/25, 12:41 AM):
First and foremost, I must say that I have no qualms regarding the gym itself. It is consistently bustling and can be quite a challenge to secure equipment. Nevertheless, the classes are excellent. The reason I am unable to provide Crunch with a positive review pertains to their lack of accountability and questionable ethics in handling refunds. I initially enrolled in personal training sessions with Brandon (who is fantastic). Subsequently, we decided to terminate the arrangement and pursue independent workouts. Despite terminating the agreement, Crunch continued to levy charges against us. We opted for an additional month of training while Crunch attempted to rectify the payment error. Even after discontinuing the automatic payments, we were owed a refund which has eluded us for over two months. Following weekly discussions with the manager, Shawn, it was ultimately conveyed to us that there was no assurance of ever receiving the money back. Although I am grateful for Shawn's cooperation, it is evident that Crunch Fitness encounters significant challenges in its refund procedures, which reportedly can solely be addressed by the corporate entity. Upon perusing various other reviews, it is apparent that this issue is recurrent. I harbor doubts about Crunch's operational integrity and ethical standards.

Update: After three months of persistent weekly follow-ups with the management team, we were eventually reimbursed the funds.
Wayne Thompson (4/19/25, 7:46 PM):
They promote the idea of upgrading to the Peak Result membership for access to all classes, but it's really not worth it! Folks attend group classes without this membership and snag your spot effortlessly, with the staff failing to assist in securing your spot. Attendance and reservations are not monitored either, so just about anyone can take advantage of the classes you're shelling out extra money for.
Harold Sullivan (4/18/25, 2:49 PM):
I 'ad been considerin' joinin' Crunch as I just moved to the area an' 'ave several mates that work out there. My mate got a "free day pass" from a manager there an' invited me. I showed up, they took me ID, got all information down, an' then sat me down. When I said I didn't plan on gettin' a membership today, they immediately closed their book an' said they couldn't offer a free day pass. Worst marketin' scheme I've ever seen. They then make you either pay for a day pass or membership. Sad thing is, after gettin' to work out with my mate, I may 'ave actually joined. Now they've made sure I never will. Don't give your mate a day pass, it's a gimmick.
Jessica Gonzales (4/18/25, 12:33 AM):
Fantastic gym, with two rows of platforms and a wide variety of equipment. The staff is truly amazing. We will definitely return.
Judith Sullivan (4/15/25, 12:51 AM):
I had an amazing experience at Crunch Fitness. As an Olympic weightlifter, it can be quite a challenge to find a gym that doesn't break the bank. Everyone there had a fantastic attitude, showed me around, introduced me to most of the staff, and made sure I knew who to turn to if I had any questions. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that led me to become a member of the gym.
Gabriel Reed (4/14/25, 5:43 PM):
Superb gym! Immaculate, excellently kept, delightful staff
Carol Gonzales (4/14/25, 6:47 AM):
I absolutely adore this place! The staff is simply marvelous. Incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I am thrilled with the equipment and options provided, especially when compared to other gyms in the vicinity.
Arthur Stewart (4/14/25, 12:12 AM):
I verily doth not commend this gym to any soul. I hath been a Crunch member for a year and recently transitioned to an insurance-based subscription via One Pass Select. Alas, the process of said transition and cancellation of mine previous subscription hast been naught but a nightmarish ordeal.

Despite mine multiple visits to the reception, I was led in circles for days. When at length I was directed to the manager, I was taken aback by his impolite and disrespectful demeanor. Instead of aiding me with a simple cancellation, he didst protract the process repeatedly and behaved with a complete lack of professionalism. Even after I graciously thanked him at the close of our discourse, he did ignore me completely.

To worsen matters, I was compelled to pay for an extra month of membership, despite two weeks lingering on mine current subscription. 'Tis not only unjust but it seems a ploy to extract more coin from loyal members. Not to mention the forthcoming annual fee for next year which I am now canceling.

'Tis unacceptable for a gym to treat its members in such a manner, particularly when it cometh to comprehension and accommodation of their decisions. The government should shield people from such avaricious business proprietors.

This experience hath left me sorely disheartened, and I intend to take mine custom elsewhere. I earnestly urge anyone deliberating upon this gym to seek elsewhere unless thou art content with being disrespected and disregarded by management and being coerced to pay for unneeded services.
Jennifer Coleman (4/13/25, 12:20 AM):
I've been going to Crunch in Acworth since November 2022, and let me tell you, it's been a top-notch experience from the moment you step through the doors until you bid adieu. The gym is consistently spick and span, well-lit, and fully equipped.
Samuel Jenkins (4/12/25, 9:49 AM):

Andrew Graham (4/12/25, 1:16 AM):
The "manager" on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at this gym location, who declined to provide me with his name, called me regarding my account and began the conversation in a confrontational manner. I explained to him that my contract was on a month-to-month basis. I had attempted to cancel on multiple occasions but was told it wasn't possible, so when my card expired and I received a new one, I assumed the account was closed. He mentioned that their contracts operate similarly to Netflix, on a month-to-month basis. I pointed out that with Netflix, if I don't pay, they simply suspend my service. He then mentioned that they send accounts to collections after 5 months of non-payment. I informed him that it couldn't have been that long since I received my new card in February. He stated that he wasn't aware of the exact timeline. I advised him that when discussing financial matters and collections, it's best to be clear and precise, and perhaps this could be a valuable learning experience for him, as we all have such opportunities. This suggestion displeased him, and he became confrontational. I expressed my discomfort in continuing the conversation with him and requested to speak with someone else. I was informed that this wasn't possible and he was the sole point of contact. The call lasted about 15 minutes with no resolution, during which he accused me of questioning his competence and attacking his character, which I did not intend to do, as I work in billing and understand the challenges of discussing financial matters with others. I simply wanted to ensure accurate information was being shared. Despite my flaws of occasionally speaking over others, I maintained a respectful tone throughout the conversation, without raising my voice, using profanity, or being impolite. In all fairness, he also interrupted me at times. I have already lodged a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Although I am able to pay the $60, following that conversation, I choose not to.
Randy Rivera (4/11/25, 10:57 PM):
I've spent $189 since December on my "founders" membership. I originally signed up for the $20 option when they first opened, and it's a great gym, no doubt about it. However, today I inquired about downgrading to the $10 option (I initially chose the higher tier so that my husband could join but he never did), and I was informed that I would have to cancel and then rejoin, with a fee of $75. I decided to cancel right then and there because I found this policy to be quite unreasonable, especially considering that I had already paid my annual fee. In the seven months that I've been a member here, I've ended up spending more than I would for an entire year at Planet Fitness. I was also displeased with the lack of flexibility in terms of options for customers who wish to remain with them. Additionally, I was required to go through a "30 day grace period" during my cancellation process, meaning I had to pay for an extra month even when I was leaving.
Peter Coleman (4/11/25, 10:26 AM):
That gym is just top-notch, I must say. The customer service is simply outstanding. The staff is incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. I can't wait for my next workout there. Cheers!
Michelle Barnes (4/10/25, 7:01 AM):
Brilliant facility, top-notch team! Chandler is absolutely incredible!!!
Ava Patterson (4/8/25, 1:09 PM):
The front desk staff should really focus on providing better customer service. It feels like everyone is just goofing around instead of attending to the customers' needs. It would be helpful to take down the names of people requesting assistance.
