Crunch Fitness - Acworth: A Comprehensive Overview

Located in Acworth, Georgia, Crunch Fitness offers a variety of amenities designed to cater to fitness enthusiasts of all levels. While many members appreciate the equipment and community atmosphere, there are significant concerns about billing practices and customer service that potential members should consider before signing up.

Amenities at Crunch Fitness

Crunch Fitness in Acworth features a wide range of equipment, providing users with options for every workout routine. However, some members have expressed disappointment regarding the lack of a sauna, which is often a sought-after feature in gyms. Despite this, the gym maintains a clean environment and is well-equipped for various training needs.

Access and Inclusivity

The facility boasts a wheelchair-accessible car park and entrance, offering convenient accessibility for all members. This commitment to accessibility ensures that everyone can enjoy their fitness journey without barriers.

Membership Information

Many patrons have raised concerns regarding the membership policies at Crunch Fitness. While the gym advertises a "month-to-month" contract, numerous reviews indicate that a minimum commitment of three months is required to cancel a membership. Additionally, members reported facing challenges when attempting to cancel over the phone, with the requirement to visit in person—often resulting in unexpected fees.

User Experiences: Pros and Cons

The reception from members varies widely. On one hand, many appreciate the friendly and supportive environment, with positive mentions of staff interaction and community engagement. One member shared, "The staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is clean and always friendly!" On the other hand, several complaints focus on aggressive sales tactics related to personal training options and billing disputes that leave former members feeling frustrated and unheard.

Customer Service Concerns

Reports from members highlight a significant issue with customer service, particularly regarding billing and cancellation procedures. Multiple users noted that attempts to discuss problems with management often resulted in unhelpful responses or a lack of follow-through. One dissatisfied customer stated, "Their system got me good... I could have avoided this bad review for fixing a simple $30 late fee." This sentiment reflects a broader frustration among gym-goers who feel trapped by the contractual obligations imposed by the gym.

Final Thoughts

While Crunch Fitness in Acworth offers a vibrant community and good equipment, potential members must weigh the pros and cons before committing. Keep in mind that a membership is likely to require adherence to strict cancellation policies, and be sure to read the fine print carefully. Engaging with current members can provide insights into whether this gym aligns with your fitness goals and values.

I've been absolutely chuffed with my decision to switch gyms and sign up at Crunch Acworth. I'm currently working with Shawn and I really look forward to our sessions. This fifty something mum really appreciates his patience, sense of humour, and the fun ways he ensures I'm getting a proper workout in!
Linda Hughes (6/11/25, 6:26 AM):
They 'ave all the equipment you could ever need and it's well looked after, but sometimes it's so crowded that it's a bit tricky to get to what you require. It's grand they 'ave personal trainers available for folks who are keen, but some of the trainers can be a tad too pushy in tryin' to engage with you and persuade you to let them demonstrate exercises and such.
Jessica Smith (6/9/25, 3:46 PM):
I absolutely adore the sense of community and the fantastic support from fellow members. The range of equipment is impeccably maintained and diverse. This is by far the best gym I have ever visited. And the price is just fabulous!
Karen Taylor (6/9/25, 3:44 PM):
I 'ave been to a few gyms in the past, but this gym 'ere is truly the best gym I 'ave ever been to! The staff are so welcoming and caring. I work with Trainer Brianna, and she is absolutely lovely! She's the sweetest person you'll ever meet! She'll keep you motivated throughout your journey. I 'ad trouble bein' consistent in the past, but she makes it enjoyable and shows 'er passion to 'elp you out. I highly recommend this gym to everyone!

Just arrived in this neck of the woods, so I'm a bit of a newbie to the Acworth area but I must say I've been quite impressed! The staff are simply lovely and ever so kind. The equipment is spick and span, just like brand new! I'd definitely recommend this gym! Although, I do find myself missing the sight of Dale Preston around here all the time!
Peter Barnes (6/7/25, 6:44 AM):
Beware of the buyer, mate. Don't let them push you into signing up for personal training. I canceled my membership 3 months ago and they've started running up a balance. When I went in to sort this out, they went behind me back and added a credit card I used for a different service to clear the balance after I told them their system was wrong. At this point, I reckon my only option is to report them to the proper authorities and will be bringing the bobbies with me next time to make sure they do what they promise. Absolutely disgusted and will be seeking legal action. I strongly recommend not giving them your billing details because they'll take advantage of it, no doubt about it.
Ethan Henderson (6/6/25, 1:53 AM):
This gym is an absolute joke, I must say. It speaks volumes about a company when you notice they only respond to the positive reviews, doesn't it? Scrolling through those reviews, it's clear I'm not the only one who has had this experience. If you're seeking a gym that genuinely cares about your well-being and fitness, I suggest you continue your search elsewhere. This establishment is solely focused on profit. The organization is filled with money-hungry individuals, like sharks circling their prey. They operate unethically, disrespectfully, and corruptly. They brought in Dale to clean up after a previous manager, but honestly, he seems in over his head. From what I've seen, he creates more problems than he solves. This company really needs to reconsider their practices and the people they hire. If only there were a Gordon Ramsay for gyms, because this place seriously needs some guidance.

I went out of the country for two weeks, and before I left, I tried to cancel my personal training sessions. However, I was informed that I couldn't do so until I made my sixth payment. Upon my return, I discovered that my personal trainer had been let go. No one informed me that I would have to start with a new trainer, and yet they charged me for my seventh payment. To make matters worse, when I tried to request a refund, Dale simply told me, "you're not getting that back." He claimed I needed to cancel 10 days before the charge, but the cancellation had to be done in person at the gym. How could I physically be present for that when I was 4,000 miles away? The bottom line is, you're better off at any other gym if you wish to avoid being exploited like a cash cow.
Nicole Cooper (6/3/25, 11:49 PM):
AVOID THIS GYM AT ALL COSTS. The only thing they seem to care about is reaching their sales targets.
I decided to try their personal training services, which turned out to be a terrible mistake. The trainer never included a proper warm-up or cool-down in our sessions, claiming it wasn't necessary. During my third session, I expressed that I was in pain and couldn't continue, but the trainer pushed me to keep going. Eventually, I had to stop on my own. That night, I woke up in extreme arm pain, and the next day my arms began to swell. I went to the ER and was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a serious condition that can lead to kidney damage. I had to undergo IV treatment to flush out the toxins from my bloodstream. I provided the gym with a doctor's note stating I couldn't work out for a month and should no longer use a personal trainer. Initially, they only offered to freeze my membership, but after several attempts, they finally agreed to cancel my training sessions. However, they refused to refund me for the sessions I had already paid for in advance. Now I'm left with medical bills and unused sessions.

I deeply regret not reading the reviews before signing up, as others have also faced challenges when trying to cancel their memberships. Some even ended up hospitalized. I cannot stress this enough - AVOID this gym.
Ruth Lee (6/3/25, 5:43 AM):
I thoroughly delight in partaking in the yoga sessions at Acworth Crunch. It's indeed a delightful perk that my son can accompany me as a guest and make use of all the equipment. The staff is consistently amiable and accommodating!
Arthur Hayes (5/30/25, 6:01 PM):
The general manager running the front desk on 21JUN between 10a-11a was incredibly aggressive and unnecessarily abrasive. As a military veteran of over 18 years visiting my family here, I would expect that she does not treat people in this manner upon their arrival at the gym. While I understand the importance of guests signing in properly upon entering the gym, the way in which she had me sign in was simply telling me to quickly scribble my name and move on without any interest in what I had to say. Just encountering her negative attitude and irritable behavior made me grateful to have my own private gym at home.
Mark Clark (5/28/25, 4:40 AM):
The sole positive aspect of this establishment is its pricing and equipment. Regrettably, there seems to be a total absence of fundamental gym etiquette among both the employees and the patrons.

Individuals frequently monopolize equipment while engrossed in their phones, obstructing others who are present to exercise. Remember, one is here to train, not merely to boost one's social media presence as an influencer – such activities should be conducted elsewhere.

While some trainers exhibit consideration, others appear entirely unaware of fellow members. It appears that there is a hierarchical preference for trainers and clients engaging in personal training, with regular members being treated as second-class citizens.

Moreover, there is a specific trainer who has repeatedly made advances towards my sister, causing her significant discomfort. I suspect she is not the sole individual subject to such behavior; it seems he casually flirts with every woman he encounters. This conduct is utterly inappropriate. I recommended my sister to this facility, only for her to be subjected to such treatment upon arrival?

Undoubtedly, the management needs to address these issues promptly!
Olivia Cooper (5/24/25, 6:57 PM):
It would be beneficial for other establishments to have designated parking spots for their customers. With the high volume of people in the area, it's hard to fathom the impact on parking availability when patrons park in lots intended for neighboring businesses.
Chloe Reed (5/24/25, 6:38 PM):
I registered today and let me just say the staff was absolutely brilliant. I returned later in the day for a workout and was welcomed as if we were old pals. It's a truly welcoming atmosphere and I'm thrilled I decided to make the change. The equipment was spotless and there were heaps of choices for whatever type of workout I was in the mood for today.
Abigail Butler (5/23/25, 7:33 PM):
Some of the most money-hungry scam artists known to mankind. They deceive you until you can cancel online, and then they inform you that you must visit in person, followed by having to write a letter. There's a reason why Crunch failed all those years ago. The equipment is decent, but if you're not discussing spending money with these individuals, I'm not interested. I'd rather workout outdoors lifting logs than ever go back here again.
Kenneth Johnson (5/22/25, 6:34 PM):
Absolutely loving this gym! From the friendly front desk team to the fantastic selection of group fitness classes! And let's not forget about Austin at the front desk who sorted me out with the top membership offer and gave me a rundown on how to use all the equipment!
Janet Moore (5/21/25, 12:05 PM):
Undoubtedly, my favorite spot to be on any night of the week. The staff is top-notch and the folks there have turned into my closest mates. The ambiance is pristine and consistently welcoming! Hats off to Crunch Acworth for always delivering excellence!
Jonathan Hamilton (5/21/25, 2:38 AM):
I went to the gym a grand total of 3 times, and then they told me that if I wanted to CANCEL my "membership," I had to pay an annual fee. It's the biggest scam of a gym membership I've ever experienced. I would definitely not recommend it, 10/10.
Austin Ramos (5/20/25, 12:31 AM):
Crunch is fabulous, crunch is top-notch! I adore the front desk!
Alexander Sanchez (5/19/25, 4:02 PM):
Incompetent and rude management. Money hungry, I say. Would do anything to squeeze an extra dollar out of you, they would. Desperate for clientele, they are. Would do anything to get your money, mark my words. Horrible business practices and unethical management staff, it is indeed. Would’ve put 0 stars if possible. 0/10 would not recommend, don't you know.
Julie Johnson (5/18/25, 10:46 AM):
I must advise you against attending this gym. They are indeed taking advantage of individuals and deceiving them with their marketing tactics. While their website claims there is no commitment, the reality is quite different as they require a 90-day commitment. This discrepancy indicates that they are not being truthful with their potential customers.
