From the depths of my heart, do not consider joining Crunch. It took me well beyond a year to finally cancel my membership, as they continuously manipulated and deceived me whenever I tried to end it. This resulted in me having to linger at the reception area looking disheveled for over 30 minutes, gazing at other members until one of the supposed "managers" would appear and terminate my membership. To my dismay, I was then informed that I had to provide a 30-day notice to cancel, meaning I would be charged one more time before I was "allowed" to officially end my membership. I implore you, steer clear of this gym chain at all costs. If it were possible, I would rate them with negative stars. Please, avoid joining this gym. It's a complete sham. Additionally, in regards to the pool at this particular location, it has been out of service for a staggering 5 years. They assured me it would be repaired when I signed up, as it seems many others were told. I urge you, please refrain from joining. Please, I beseech you not to!

I absolutely adore this gym! Brandon, the top-notch trainer, has truly raised the bar for me! The squad at Crunch is absolutely OUTSTANDING at the moment! They are all so approachable and accommodating. And what's more, they exhibit a genuine PASSION for their work and are genuinely invested in their clients' success! Witnessing their clients achieve their goals and embark on the most effective workouts brings them immense joy. Throughout my two decades of fitness endeavors, Brandon has introduced me to techniques I had never encountered before. It has been a truly remarkable experience! I wholeheartedly endorse this remarkable team of trainers and this superb gym. I have been a loyal patron of Crunch for many years, and while the quality seemed to be declining in recent times, I now firmly believe that they could well be the premier gym in Boise.

This gym is what I've been looking for! It's clean, staffed with awesome folks, and has such good vibes. It made me feel right at home. And can we talk about the eye candy? Shout out to Renee, that kid with the curly hair - you're rocking it!
Thomas Ward (6/9/25, 12:39 PM):
I 'ave been a member at this particular spot for quite a few years now. About six months ago, I relocated, but made the decision to keep hold of my membership in the 'opes that I could still use the facility when I was back in town. Today, I finally came to terms with the situation and decided it was time to terminate me membership as it's rare that I'm able to make it 'ere. Colton made it incredibly simple for me to cancel me membership with no hassle whatsoever. The staff were helpful and the atmosphere was friendly. Cheers mate!
Layla Coleman (6/8/25, 7:20 AM):
I recently rejoined the gym and tonight marked my second visit, however, I must say I am feeling quite regretful already. The cleanliness standards are far from satisfactory, with the locker rooms being particularly unclean and gross. Moreover, the overhead music and bass levels were incredibly high, to the point where I could hear it even with my headphones turned up to the maximum. When I politely requested the employee at the front desk to lower the volume, they not only refused but actually increased it. I was unpleasantly surprised to find myself subjected to repeated use of the n-word in loud rap music while trying to focus on my workout. Overall, a very disappointing experience. My advice would be to steer clear of this particular location when considering signing up.
Arthur White (6/8/25, 2:49 AM):
Several pieces of equipment are either malfunctioning or completely out of order. The swimming pool has been shut down for "renovations," although no workers seem to be present. The changing room is quite unpleasant, with a sink that is coming loose from the countertop, leaky toilets, and deplorable showers. The staff members spend their time chatting amongst themselves, rather than assisting the customers waiting at the front desk, often engrossed in their phones. The trainers don't seem to possess adequate knowledge or skills, and watching them attempt workouts found through a Google search is rather alarming. In summary, the cost does not justify the overall poor quality of service provided.
Sara Morales (6/7/25, 6:18 PM):
A jolly good establishment, if I do say so myself. The chaps on staff are quite friendly, and I've had a jolly good time popping in here over the past few months. The showers could use a bit of sprucing up, and the workout space is a tad lacking, I must say. However, they do have a splendid variety of kettlebells and free weights. I would certainly recommend it to any folk on the hunt for an affordable gym in the vicinity. Cheers!

I 'ave been goin' to Crunch for over two years now an' 'ad to cancel me membership 'cause we are movin' an' I’m goin' to go to a closer gym. I was plannin' on cancellin' me membership this week but got really sick with food poisonin' yesterday so I wasn’t able too. Today I finally feel better an' I saw that me card was charged with me monthly crunch charge an' the annual fee as well (today is the 1st of the month). I called Crunch an' Walter, the GM picked up. 'E explained that normally you 'ave to cancel in person or email an' that Crunch will still charge you for the next month when you cancel, that is just their policy. Walter was SO kind an' was able to get it canceled for me over the phone an' waived the fees since I wasn’t goin' to be comin' back to the gym this month. Walter you 'ave no idea 'ow your kindness an' generosity made me day, especially after bein' so sick. I should 'ave canceled me membership a month ago but 'e still showed me grace & care, bein' so professional an' understandin' on the phone. I was so relieved I didn’t 'ave to go in or worry about those fees. Thank you Walter! You truly are a wonderful 'uman bein' an' your kindness an' treatment made an impact! I am so grateful!
Rose Alexander (6/5/25, 1:32 PM):
I ’ve been going to this gym for years... I will not be renewing my membership... it’s absolutely disgusting.... The bathrooms are worse than the public facilities in multiple third world countries I’ve lived in... I have spoken up multiple times to staff, which there is always 2-4 standing around talking to each other or on their phones not doing anything... They did toss some air fresheners on top of the mold, urine, and feces. Literally mold, urine, feces, and blood throughout the facility. This facility is a Petri dish of Staph, E.coli, Mold, and Hepatitis... I wouldn’t recommend this gym to anyone unless they are looking to write a thesis in the field of microbiology.
Kevin Campbell (6/5/25, 1:57 AM):
The amenities at the gym are quite lovely, but I found myself having to fork over a $45 annual cleaning fee after just 2 months of membership. On top of that, there was a $97 bill to cancel my membership. Also, even though my first month was supposed to be only $1, I ended up paying full price for both months. The pricing structure at Crunch is truly exorbitant.
Kelly Wright (6/4/25, 5:33 PM):
I 'ave been a regular at this gym for almost two years now. The facilities are more than adequate for the price of the entry membership. With plenty of free-weights, machines, racks, and cardio equipment the options available to meet a variety of fitness goals are 'ere. The downstairs space is a huge plus for people looking for CrossFit-like training. I've read other reviews about cleanliness issues, and while it's never perfect, a lot of posts confuse the Black Eagle location with the State Street location. Yes, that one is a straight-up mess. Staff 'ere are some of the friendliest around and are 'appy to 'elp to the best of their ability. They are not aggressive about tryin' to sell you another product or membership, but if you do need something, there is almost always someone around to assist. Just about every time I go in I see personal trainers doing their thing with clients.
To improve, the owners of the Crunch locations should take a look at the wet spaces and locker rooms of their location. They need work.
Layla Collins (6/4/25, 10:58 AM):
The staff was quite lovely, but the issue lies in the fact that this establishment seems more focused on swindling individuals. Over the summer, they promoted a deal where you could join for only $1 and then pay an annual fee (like most gyms). After just a week, I opted to terminate my membership, only to be hit with another $75 annual fee and a $45 monthly fee due to their 30-day notice requirement. Their policies are simply absurd. I should have taken heed of the reviews, but I was curious to experience it firsthand.
Elizabeth Cruz (6/4/25, 2:10 AM):
This establishment is quite lovely. The team is extremely helpful and friendly. Brandon is an absolute champ, very knowledgeable about fitness, it's mind-blowing. I will certainly return.
Bryan Garcia (6/4/25, 12:02 AM):
The support staff was nowhere to be found. If you needed to speak with a manager, there was never one on the premises.
When attempting to cancel the service, the staff refused to accept the cancellation letter and failed to reach out to a manager. Despite sending an email to cancel my service, it was blatantly disregarded. Upon noticing the next month's charge on my account, I made a call and once again, there was no sign of a manager. I requested a call from the manager, which never materialized. The following day, another charge from Crunch appeared on my account. After contacting the establishment again, the manager mentioned that they prefer in-person cancellations over email ones. He assured me that he would initiate a review for my refund, which would take 2-5 business days.
Crunch Fitness - Boise Black Eagle really puts extra pressure on folks. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.
Ella Morgan (6/2/25, 11:55 AM):
A rather splendid spot to work on your gains, I must say. Typically not overly crowded around 4:30-6 during the week, and weekends are also quite manageable. What truly enhances the charm of this gym is the patrons who frequent it, always courteous and mindful of sharing equipment. The staff is generally quite pleasant as well. It would be rather spiffing to see the inclusion of a lying leg curl machine, though.
Cheryl Green (5/30/25, 6:01 AM):
Nate is a top-notch coach with a wealth of experience. I've worked with several trainers in the past who either pushed me too hard or didn't challenge me enough, but Nate consistently evaluates my progress and pushes me forward at a perfect pace. I wholeheartedly recommend him as your next trainer!
Kimberly Butler (5/28/25, 4:00 PM):
They fibbed about the pool. I was informed back in February when I joined that it was undergoing renovations and would be up and running in a few weeks. It's still closed, and no one can provide a concrete opening date. But the bigger headache here is on weekends, when it seems like there's always a no-show to open the gym at the scheduled time, and there's no way to reach out and have someone come open it. It really throws off your routine when this becomes a regular occurrence. On the bright side, the weekday morning staff has been fantastic lately, especially since the summer ended.
Gary Gutierrez (5/27/25, 9:42 PM):
There are two major problems with this gym. The first is the overall maintenance of the facility. The showers are filthy, the children's area is a breeding ground for germs, and the pool and jacuzzi have a significant buildup of scum.
Secondly, they have serious issues with billing. I purchased a three-month personal training package along with a gym membership. Two months after my gym membership expired, they began charging my debit card $400 per month for personal training again. Despite speaking with management and being assured it would be resolved, I continued to be charged. I made phone calls and visited in person while they claimed it was being "processed." In the end, they charged me for an additional two months. I had to file a claim with my bank because they refused to issue a refund.
Marilyn Flores (5/27/25, 8:45 AM):
The gym was alright, but in March I phoned up and terminated my membership because I wanted to head in a different direction. Just received a letter from a collections agency claiming I owe them more than $350!
My advice, NEVER consider doing business with this company! If you ever decide to leave, you'll end up regretting it!
Donna Hernandez (5/26/25, 6:37 AM):
Definitely my top spot for working out, mate! I've got Peak Plus and I absolutely love being able to make use of the tanning beds, hydro massage, and even bring a mate along. The best time for me is in the arvo, as I always get a warm welcome and a friendly 'hello' from the bloke at the front desk. I'd give it four stars because the locker rooms could use a good scrub and some of the gear is a bit old-fashioned. But I really dig the whole vibe and atmosphere of the joint. Cheers!
