It's quite decent, really. I do wish it weren't always so packed to the brim, and darn it, a basketball court would be just splendid! Still, it's a fine establishment overall.

I recently visited the gym in Cary, NC and I must say, it was an absolute gem! The cleanliness of the bathrooms was impeccable, and I would rate my experience a 20 out of 10 - it was that good! The way the staff were treated was simply fantastic.
Gregory Torres (7/10/25, 9:38 PM):
You know, mate, folks tend to look down on Planet Fitness... but as someone who ain't exactly a gym fanatic but has been around the block, I quite fancy this spot. There ain't women parading around nearly nude taking selfies, and everyone's quite friendly. Blokes ain't grunting and flexing like peacocks. Truth be told, everyone's just doing their own thing, which suits me just fine and dandy. Cheers!
John Murphy (7/10/25, 8:55 AM):
I visit this gym regularly. They have a good selection of machines, although there is only 1 hydro massage bed available. The atmosphere is pleasant for exercising. The lockers are not monitored, but you can purchase a lock if required.
Pamela Simmons (7/9/25, 9:26 AM):
They ain't keepin' them bathrooms or showers in tip-top shape, mate. I tell ya, for days there's been the same tissue on the floor in one shower, hair in another, and a bandaid on the floor in yet another. The only clean shower only has cold water runnin', and that's probably why it's the only clean one. It's absolutely revolting!
Judy Fisher (7/9/25, 8:46 AM):
I absolutely adore the Cary spot! I gave the Raleigh Planet Fitness location a whirl and I wasn't feeling the energy there. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I definitely felt more at ease at the Cary spot. The PF 360 Burn class today was a blast!
I'm definitely feeling the burn, but I'm thrilled to be enjoying myself while keeping fit and building strength! I've got the Core Workout class lined up for tomorrow and I've already registered for a class on Friday as well as more classes next week, fitting them in around my work schedule.
Logan Cruz (7/5/25, 12:59 AM):
Everyone is buzzing about the friendly staff at the gym, but that wasn't the case for my mate and me. When we rocked up, I asked the lass at the front desk to fill my mate in on the current membership specials as I'm already a member. She didn't even acknowledge my mate, who's in her sixties, and instead directed me to join online. I insisted that she explain the deals to my friend, to which she retorted, "I was speaking to you because you're the one who asked." Eventually, she begrudgingly started explaining the offers to my mate, clearly showing impatience to wrap up the conversation.
Despite the poor treatment, my mate decided to join the gym since it would be beneficial for us to work out together. After our session, she confided in me that she only signed up because of my encouragement, feeling upset about how she was treated. This incident took place on March 29th, 2025, around 4:30 pm. It's essential to show older folks the respect they deserve.

Superb spot. The crew is a gem. Immaculate surroundings. Delighted client.
Michelle James (7/4/25, 11:26 AM):
This gyhm, Planet Fitness, is quite packed, I must say. The equipment is rather limited considering the number of folks that frequent this place. Should you choose to visit during peak hours like 6AM or 5pm-8pm, brace yourself for a wait of around 10 minutes to get on a machine due to the crowds. The later it gets, the more lax the staff seems to become. At 10pm, I was denied access to the hydromassage and whole body massage chairs. The staff member was too engrossed in her FaceTime call with earbuds in to notice me waiting for help to operate one of the chairs. She simply refused, claiming that these machines aren't available for use late at night. But aren't these additional perks for which I pay extra each month? Quite disappointed in this particular Planet Fitness branch, I must admit.
Isabella Jordan (7/1/25, 10:38 PM):
Security told me that I couldn't come in to use the shower. As a loyal black card member, I will be back tomorrow for my shower. This is completely unacceptable. If corporate is fine with their members being bothered by a youngster who just started his first job, then I will take my business to Anytime Fitness or LA Fitness. I will be contacting corporate first thing in the morning.

Upon visiting this Planet Fitness venue, I braced myself for the worst. Having been a member in New York, where the gym was consistently overcrowded with subpar equipment, my expectations were low. Yet, upon entering this location, I was pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the gym was not as packed as it typically was in New York or other branches. While there were many patrons, it was not so crowded that one couldn't accomplish their workout. I also appreciated the spotless cleanliness of the gym. Perhaps due to its newness, all the equipment seemed brand new, and the entire establishment looked impeccable. A novel feature that caught my eye was the inclusion of Training ropes, TRX ropes, and various other training tools not typically found at budget gyms.
Some individuals have voiced concerns about the service, but I found it to be excellent. Alec guided us through the facility and was remarkably friendly and helpful. While it is unfortunate to hear about theft incidents, I am of the belief that one should not bring valuables to the gym in any case, as such occurrences can transpire anywhere.
All in all, considering the price point, I believe one would be hard-pressed to find better value elsewhere. With top-notch equipment, exceptional service, what more could one ask for?
Richard Garcia (6/24/25, 4:36 PM):
I've been a member of this gym since it first opened its doors. It recently closed down for more than 2 weeks to undergo some "upgrades" and expand into the adjacent space, which was finally reopened a few days ago. However, much to my disappointment, the new section (reserved for free weights perhaps?) remains inaccessible. Tonight, the majority of gym-goers were occupied with the weight machines, which are the same tired, worn-out (and in some cases, out of order) machines that have been around for ages. It doesn't look like any additional weight machines have been introduced, as folks still had to wait their turn to use them. On a positive note, the restrooms have received a fancy update and there appears to be more cardio equipment available. But overall, I must say I was left feeling rather underwhelmed by the whole experience.
Ella Jones (6/24/25, 6:34 AM):
I've been trying to contact this Planet Fitness location several times to cancel my membership, as I haven't actually used it since I signed up 9 months ago. I've recently moved and am having no luck getting any assistance!
Ryan Gutierrez (6/22/25, 9:15 PM):
Great gym, not too crowded. However, there are no free weights available. It's a shame that Planet Fitness doesn't have a bar, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. Other than that, it's an incredible gym!
Charles White (6/22/25, 9:15 AM):
I am a huge fan of Planet Fitness! The low monthly fee is just amazing. I enjoy working out in the early morning and I never have trouble finding the equipment I need. I also make use of the showers and locker rooms, which are consistently well-maintained, making me feel at ease using the facilities. The staff and fellow gym-goers are always friendly. It's truly a fantastic spot overall.
Brittany Sullivan (6/22/25, 8:41 AM):
After 66 weeks, my experience at the gym has been quite positive overall. Nevertheless, I've observed that several of the free weights, especially dumbbells, are either not properly placed on the racks or seem to be missing.
Jeffrey Morris (6/20/25, 5:42 AM):
I 'ave been squatting with a free-standin' barbell for 10 years with no problems afore switchin' to Planet Fitness. My max was 340 lbs. I don't 'ave the upper body strength to squat 340 using dumbbells. So, I gave the smith machine a go. I did me research on the right form before usin' the smith machine, and still managed to injure me spine. Smith machine squats are not safe, mate.
Arthur Ramos (6/20/25, 5:29 AM):
This gym is absolutely marvelous after its recent renovation. It tends to get quite busy, but the staff are incredible and really laid back folks.
A few things to note, though:
It would be fantastic if they could install automatic doors at the entrance/exit, especially with how crowded it gets. You often find yourself holding the door open or unintentionally bumping into others coming in or out. It can be a bit frustrating when you see a group congregating by the entrance/exit, causing a bottleneck before you can leave – I usually just wait for them to disperse so I can make my escape!
The addition of a second water fountain station is a game-changer (a common issue in ALL gyms with only one water source), but it's placed way back in the "yoga" stretching area. If you want to avoid the main fountain near the restrooms, where someone always seems to be filling up a massive jug, your only other option is to navigate through the yogis on the floor to quench your thirst. Not the most practical setup – they should have placed it nearer the front to save time and money. With four fountains, people could grab a quick drink and keep moving.
The leg day machines are often out of order due to misuse or because some folks just park themselves on them for hours on end. It’s uncomfortable when you're using dumbbells by the benches and have an audience of people lingering on the machines for too long. I try to ignore it, but it's best to just do your workout and not stare – move your weights and focus on your own routine.
There are folks who spend more time chatting than actually lifting, hogging space and equipment. It’s great to socialize, but don’t linger in an area chatting with friends – either step outside or get your workout done as efficiently as possible.
Influencers setting up tripods for recording can be intrusive. I'd prefer if this were banned, or they could come during quieter times when the gym isn’t bustling with activity. It's uncomfortable to have someone filming nearby without your consent – it's simply impolite.
The shower area could use more privacy. Unlike Crunch Fitness, where the shower and changing areas are more enclosed, the setup here feels a bit exposed. The bright lighting and white tiles make it awkward to change or shower without feeling overly visible. Many opt to wait until they get home to freshen up. Privacy is lacking, especially with the flimsy curtains and lack of barriers.
Despite these minor issues, it’s a solid gym with all the necessary amenities to help you achieve your fitness goals – and that’s what truly matters.
Catherine Hill (6/19/25, 8:39 PM):
Walking into the gym at 6am and being greeted by someone like Briannas is a real treat. Her constant smile and friendly demeanor never fail to brighten up my morning. She always takes the time to greet and acknowledge everyone who passes by the front desk.
Harold Kim (6/18/25, 12:01 PM):
I must say, the team at the gym has been quite impressive this week. Most of the staff members demonstrate a high level of professionalism in their roles. However, there are a few front desk employees who seem to detract from the overall excellent customer service experience that the rest of the team delivers.
Despite this minor setback, the front desk operations generally run smoothly. The staff does a commendable job of providing top-notch customer service. I can imagine it must be challenging to find someone willing to work the night shift on weekdays and remain committed to that position for an extended period of time.
