I absolutely adore the vibe at the gym, but what really bothers me is when the staff clean the equipment while you're still using it. It can be quite dangerous and may lead to accidents.
Anthony James (4/29/25, 11:23 PM):
The staff could be even more friendly and welcoming upon customers' arrival.

There are plenty of equipment and options to choose from. You never have to wait for any machines due to overcrowding, which is fantastic for those looking to squeeze in a quick lunchtime workout.
Theresa Simmons (4/29/25, 5:34 PM):
I've been going to this gym for years, ever since the Lafayette health club closed down. For just 10 bucks a month, I can't complain. You're not going to become a pro bodybuilder there, but there's enough variety to get you toned and fit. If I had to make one change, I would add more pre-loaded barbells up to 120 lbs and dumbbells heavier than 75 lbs.

This place I visit on Ambassador Caffrey here in Lafayette is quite convenient. It's also spotless and well-arranged, and the staff is ever so courteous. I would strongly recommend anyone to become a member of this establishment. Boyd Raborn RAH Homes and Construction

I've journeyed across these United States, and let me tell ya, the PF gyms you encounter can run the gamut from shiny palaces to dingy dungeons. This particular one ain't half bad, I reckon. It's spick and span, and most of the contraptions are in working order most of the time. When you stop to think about how many folks pump iron here on the reg, it gives you an inkling of the effort they put into keeping their gear tip-top, which is better than your run-of-the-mill gym. The changing room is usually tidy, but let's be real, the only pristine locker room is one that's never been used, so exercise some judgment there, mate.
Jack Thomas (4/26/25, 5:45 PM):
Been a member at this gym for a couple of years now. It's affordable and well-equipped, but the showers are quite small. There are too many ellipticals and not enough benches. The stretch area is too cramped. The temperature is always comfortable. Avoid going between 4:30 and 6:30 if you want to use the weights. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems with other members. I'd give it 4 stars for the lack of negative experiences and the reasonable price.
Billy Anderson (4/26/25, 3:08 PM):
The Gym is always spotless. Members can access cleaning supplies for equipment and hand sanitizing stations are available. I go there every day and the staff is constantly cleaning. Masks are mandatory, so I feel quite secure there. Additionally, members have a wide range of fitness options, and if needed, the staff can provide assistance. I'm extremely grateful for their recent improvements and adjustments. Planet Fitness on Ambassador is truly excelling. This marks my second year as a member, and I have no intentions of going anywhere else.
Brittany Parker (4/24/25, 5:50 PM):
This rating is for any Planet Fitness. Please keep the boycott going strong, old chap. We must protect innocent young children!!! There is no need for a chap to be in the lady's locker room, end of story!
Alan Smith (4/23/25, 1:45 PM):
I absolutely adore the gym! I've been a member for four splendid years, but recently, I've been contemplating bidding adieu to my gym due to their free summer program for the little ones. The gym is already quite bustling, and now with the children running about and occupying the machines, it has become rather challenging to get my workout in. Yesterday, I found myself spending a good three hours there, mainly waiting for the machines to become available. A tad frustrating, I must say!
Angela Roberts (4/22/25, 2:23 PM):
Lovely, spotless establishment, wide range of gear, adore the staff, and Ernest is a top-notch trainer.
Ronald Ross (4/21/25, 7:56 AM):
The staff is super friendly, the gym is spotless, and it's excellent all around!
Heather Nguyen (4/19/25, 10:32 AM):
I fancy the establishment, but I must say I am quite vexed with the staff. Being a bit on the heavier side and rather new to working out with certain contraptions, I find myself at a loss when I can't locate any of the employees on the gym floor for assistance. They seem to be constantly congregated at the front desk, leaving me stranded when I need guidance. I am clueless about how to operate some of the machines and am wary of injuring myself in the process. It's a stroke of luck when a fellow gym-goer beside me lends a helping hand on occasion.
Brandon Hamilton (4/19/25, 7:39 AM):
The staff be quite rude. The sinks are falling apart and all wobbly. The hot water stays hot for 2 minutes and then goes cold.
Debra Hall (4/18/25, 7:37 PM):
Decent gym with plenty of cardio gear. Not bad for the cost. However, there seems to be a high turnover of staff, so if you have inquiries that go beyond the scripted sales pitch they use to enroll members, be sure to speak with a supervisor. I ended up wasting an hour because the employees didn't grasp the information they were giving me.
Carolyn Ramos (4/15/25, 9:20 PM):
Fantastic crew and fantastic amenities. I fancy the way they respond to inquiries and accommodate the elderly. Pristine establishment that offers all the essentials for a fruitful and pleasant visit. Enjoy watching television while strolling on the treadmill.
Emily Hamilton (4/15/25, 4:04 AM):
I absolutely adore the welcoming staff and pristine environment in here. I've noticed that everyone diligently cleans up after using the equipment. My workout sessions are always a delight 💪. A big thank you to the Planet Fitness Ambassador location. Cheers!
Arthur Phillips (4/14/25, 7:05 PM):
I ain't too chuffed about the $10 per month advertisement. My 18-year-old lass wanted to get fit before her basic training and began in March, only to be smacked with an annual fee of $53.14 on May 1st. Quite sly, innit, Planet Fitness? And clever move allowing sign-ups online, but not cancellations online. No worries, though. It was a good eye-opener for my daughter to learn how some businesses can be dodgy. Bloomin' cheek!
Judy Williams (4/14/25, 2:05 PM):
This establishment is quite spacious! There is a lot of room between each equipment, and there are multiple copies of everything so there's no need to wait even during peak hours.
Timothy Lewis (4/14/25, 4:01 AM):
I would 'ave joined years ago if I knew it was goin' to be this awesome!!! Staff treats you like royalty... So many machines... somethin' for every need!!! Practically no waiting for the equipment. Well lit... Awesome place!!!
UPDATE: I'm a regular at Planet Fitness now. And it is all I've heard it is "and then some" It's my "go to" for my cardiac self-rehab. Probably the best feature is their staff. The general manager is a good "hiring manager", i.e., he hires good people, AND is on-site setting a good example for his people! YEP! Would 'ave joined ages ago!
Christina Collins (4/13/25, 6:07 PM):
Not worth the $10 a month, mate. But then they hit you with other fees after you sign up, you know? The promo said sign up for a quid plus the first month, the sign-up fee waived. Then, 2 months later, they charged me 56 quid and called it the annual fee, can you believe it?
