One of the highlights of Gold’s Gym Dupont Circle is its spacious layout, allowing members to navigate the facility comfortably, even during peak hours. The gym features: - Sauna for relaxation after workouts. - Wheelchair-accessible entrance and car park, ensuring ease of access for all individuals. - Gender-neutral toilets and a wheelchair-accessible toilet, promoting inclusivity for all members. Despite some comments regarding equipment availability and locker functionality, many users appreciate the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility. However, it's noted that a significant number of lockers have been reported as not functioning properly, which can create frustration for gym-goers.

Customer Service and Membership Experience

While the facilities are generally well-received, feedback indicates mixed experiences regarding customer service. Some reviews commend staff members for their friendliness and assistance, while others report issues with management's responsiveness and transparency, particularly regarding membership cancellations and billing practices. It's crucial to note that a membership is required to access the gym, and potential members should be aware of various membership terms, including any hidden fees associated with signing up. Concerns around crowd control during peak hours have emerged, particularly regarding individuals occupying equipment without actively using it.

Great gym if you're keen on an active membership but a complete nightmare to cancel. I cancelled back in the summer, rang up to double-check my membership this week, spoke to several individuals who assured me my account was cancelled, and lo and behold, I got charged again today.
Gloria Reynolds (6/11/25, 4:42 PM):
Just a regular gym in a handy location. It offers decent, though sporadic, group classes, well-equipped weight areas, cardio machines, towel exchange, and so on.

CONS: They don't always unlock both front doors consistently - so you begin and finish your workout with some minor irritation... Also, I wish they had a few bigger weight plates for the Les Mills group classes.
Gregory Foster (6/9/25, 9:37 PM):
The front desk attendant is a right twat!
Timothy Sanchez (6/9/25, 10:14 AM):
Just opened this place, absolutely stunning, I'm loving it! There are a few bits and bobs that still need sorting though, like fixing up the saunas, properly labeling the upstairs loos, ensuring there are plenty of towels, some extras for the squat racks, and getting the class schedules finalized. Fingers crossed they'll have those bits sorted out soon. Cheers!
Daniel Thompson (6/8/25, 5:48 PM):
Jolly good day, chaps! Allow me to kindly express my vexation towards the rather unsatisfactory locker situation at the gym. It appears that a good number of lockers are not functioning as intended, which is thoroughly frustrating, I must say. The issue of non-locking lockers seems to persist without a proper solution in sight. Now, don't get me wrong, the staff at this establishment are absolutely splendid - ever so helpful and jolly terrific, indeed. However, it is downright exhausting to engage in a game of musical chairs just to secure a locker that actually locks. Would it be too much to request an improvement in this area? Perhaps replacing those dreadful keypad locks would do the trick. Cheers to a swift resolution!
Paul Hall (6/5/25, 12:40 PM):
The gym charges an annual fee of approximately $74. It is stated in the contract, HOWEVER it was not brought up when I joined, despite me inquiring about extra charges. I view concealing details in a contract that are not revealed in person as a deceitful sales strategy. The lady at the front desk mentioned that other clients have raised similar concerns.
Lisa Ortiz (6/1/25, 12:24 PM):
The gym is an absolute disaster. They sent me a collections letter for personal training that I never even signed up for. I reached out to the gym, and the manager confirmed that I had never set foot in their establishment according to their records. Yet somehow, there was a personal training contract linked to my name. It took me a good 5 months to resolve this issue and provide evidence that it wasn't me. The police even got involved, and I had to prove that I was overseas when the contract was supposedly signed. Absolutely dreadful experience.
Ava Reyes (6/1/25, 12:41 AM):
The customer service at this gym was well below par, I must say. The gym manager came across as rather rude and impolite, and was never really helpful with any issues that arose. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone.
Ashley Cruz (5/29/25, 4:06 AM):
Don't even bother wasting your time with their so-called "free pass" - it's pointless.

I've been checking out various gyms in the neighborhood since my recent move, and decided to grab a "free pass" from their website.

Upon arrival, the receptionist informed me that they don't accept free passes without a DC ID (which I don't have yet due to my recent move) and that I would need to purchase a $20 day pass to try out the gym. Thirty minutes wasted on a round trip - they really ought to make this "rule" more explicit on their website.
Grace Cook (5/27/25, 10:12 PM):
Verily splendid spot - expansive with an abundance of room!
Jason Cox (5/25/25, 8:18 AM):
Predatory cancellation practices. I attempted to cancel my membership several times after relocating from the DC area, but to no avail. I have been billed an extra three times since the cancellation date.
Sophia Coleman (5/24/25, 12:03 PM):
I signed up for a complimentary day pass to give the DuPont location a go. When I signed up, I didn't see anything regarding the need to show proof of residency, and I don't possess a DC license. I offered an address at the front desk, but that wasn't sufficient for utilizing the day pass. I was informed that I needed to pay $20 to exercise for the day. If the proof of residence policy is indeed on their website, they should ensure it is more readily available or include it in the email along with the day pass.
Ella Gonzales (5/20/25, 1:21 AM):
With a 20+ person infrared sauna, who even needs a gym, right? However, if you're feeling the need for a workout to complement your laid-back sweat session, this gym is top-notch.

*Update
After three months, both the brand and the gym seemed to have lost their touch. Not quite deserving of a 1-star rating, but I can no longer in good faith maintain my initial 5-star review.

Disclaimer: I had a brief stint working for this company, which may have colored my opinion. Nevertheless, the hygiene standards and overall upkeep seem to have taken a hit regardless of personal biases.
Pamela Cook (5/19/25, 12:06 AM):
Decent gear and roomy, but got meself some major issues with temperature regulation. Quite toasty in most spots, and downright unbearable in a few, 'round 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The blokes in charge mentioned they couldn't sort it out.
Patrick Jordan (5/17/25, 10:59 PM):
Absolutely smashing clean facility!!
Diana Gutierrez (5/16/25, 2:42 PM):
Absolutely dreadful gym, I must say.
Richard Kim (5/16/25, 7:14 AM):
I find it quite baffling that repair problems linger for weeks on end (like the women's bathroom, for instance), yet the evening employee is tasked with reminding patrons five times in an hour that the gym will close at 10 PM.

We got the message the first time, so please allow us to continue our workout. If this is a common occurrence, consider compensating your staff member to stay an extra 15 minutes instead of repeatedly approaching gym-goers with the same information.
Jose Jones (5/12/25, 9:01 PM):
My local gym, top-notch equipment. The staff, they're friendly and always ready to lend a hand. A bit crowded on weekday evenings after work, but hey, that's the norm, isn't it? Cheers!
Ralph Watson (5/6/25, 10:01 AM):
I had to cancel my gym membership and got a written confirmation of the final billing date. Yet, two months later, I'm still being charged. No response from the email that confirmed my cancellation. Do not recommend signing up here! They'll keep taking your money even after you cancel.

The gym looks good, but they're not really set up for getting ready before work. It feels like they're doing a bait and switch, or they really need to sort out their logistics. They promised large towels for showering, but I've been going for a month and all they have are hand towels. Plus, there's no space in the showers to keep your clothes dry or get dressed. It's an average gym, but I wouldn't rely on it for your pre-work routine.
Lauren Hall (5/5/25, 11:59 AM):
Fantastic gym, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
