Great Trainers, Great Community

Three years ago, if you had asked me my thoughts on doing a pull-up, I would have said something like "PE Class was a LONG time ago," and would have dismissed the thought outright. Today, I set a personal best: 60 pull-ups in my 60 minute workout! True transformation encompasses both the body and mind, and I am so grateful to Matt White & Active Lab for helping me to believe in myself and to live a healthier lifestyle. Sure, there are easily quantifiable signs of progress (for example, my 15 minute mile has become a sub-nine minute mile), but it's the improvement in my mental game that warrants a 5 star review for Active Lab.

As I ventured into my early thirties, I wish I had listened to all of the data about slowing metabolism and the need to really be cognizant of one's diet and exercise. Alas, old habits die hard, and I quickly found myself ashamed to look in the mirror, ashamed to step on the scale, ashamed to wear the clothes I owned, and ashamed to buy new clothes for fear of the new size range. Two years ago, with an all-too-stereotypical January motivation, I decided to finally begin a new chapter of my life that sought to be more intentional with healthy decision making. Luckily, I found Active Lab online and set up my first session with Matt. And that was the beginning of my time with Active Lab which continues through today.

There are many things to love about personal training at Active Lab: I have had gym memberships and have taken workouts with trainers in their apartments or their apartment gyms; there is something really wonderful about having a dedicated private gym with a limited amount of clients at any given time. The trainers work together so well to ensure every client has access to the equipment they need without interfering with another client's workout. Facilities are clean, and equipment is in good shape. All trainers are friendly, and I have never felt like I didn't belong (regardless of my ability or inability in the gym).

The proverbial "they" say fitness is addictive and after time you begin to crave the adrenaline from working out; sadly, I have never really found this addiction. Active Lab has taught me that motivation only exists in the moment, and when motivation fails dedication and commitment can see you through. Matt White, like the other trainers, is patient in his approach and creates workouts that are tailored to your fitness goals. I've learned how to create an effective strength training workout when not at Active Lab, and really appreciate how efficient my sessions have become in all gyms.

Matt is personable and encouraging, which is the spoonful of sugar to disguise his ability to work you to your limit in your session. There are definitely sessions where I know, on my own, I would have ended my workout early or cheated ('called it good') with rep counts. With Matt and Active Lab, I am pushed to be the best version of myself in the gym, and the progress I have made in the last two years is wonderful. There is a good balance between a midweek text from your trainer to check in/encourage healthy decisions outside of Active Lab, and trainers who offer demanding and drastic changes that seem unsustainable as a lifestyle choice. While I don't doubt the absolute effectiveness of the latter approach, I find the former approach (utilized by Matt/Active Lab) to be more in sync with my life, and thus sustainable for success.

As I think about today's personal best of pullups (and of the soreness that is sure to come), I am grateful for how far I have come in my fitness journey, and it is important to offer a sincerest of thank yous to the entire team at Active Lab, and especially to my trainer Matt White.

I've been training with Dustin for years. Meeting him and having him as my trainer has truly been one of the greatest experiences I've ever had. Dustin's faith in my abilities far surpasses my own, and working with him has made me realize that I am stronger and more capable than I ever thought. The atmosphere in the gym is vibrant, with trainers who genuinely care about their clients. Personal training at Active Lab is truly personal - each trainer customizes workouts for their clients. They show genuine care, provide encouragement, and celebrate every success along the way.

I am one of the trainers at Active Lab. I've been honing my skills for close to 16 years now, and let me tell you, this facility is top-notch with a stellar team of talented trainers! Our chiropractor, David, is absolutely brilliant - and trust me, I've worked with quite a few in the past. The massage therapists here are seasoned pros who really know their stuff. The atmosphere is super friendly and welcoming. It's a fantastic place to be in!

Active Lab is a truly wonderful space and a fantastic cozy gym! I've been training with Ashley Olson for a little over a year, mainly attending her boot camps but also a few one-on-one sessions. Ashley is a phenomenal trainer! She goes the extra mile to ensure your fitness goals are achieved. When I first started, I was hesitant about joining the boot camps as I was easing back into my workout routine. Ashley put together a personalized meal plan for me, helped me monitor my progress, and kept me on track. Her workouts are incredibly well-organized, they really make you feel the burn in the best way possible! I also consulted with David the chiropractor, who assisted me in understanding what adjustments my body needed. He provided valuable advice and insights so that I can be more in tune with my body not only during workouts but in everyday life...

If you haven't signed up yet, you're definitely missing out!

Christian Ramirez (6/8/25, 11:08 AM):
By far the best gym I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending. I'm truly lucky to have stumbled upon Active Lab in my search for a gym! The gym itself is impeccably clean, and having a massage therapist and chiropractors on-site adds another level of excellence. I've had the pleasure of training with Dustin, receiving massages from Alyssa, and getting chiropractic care from David, and my experiences with all of them have been incredibly professional and top-notch. I wholeheartedly endorse Active Lab!

The best gym in CO, I tell ya! I've been trainin' with Kyle Bowers for 2 years now and have made more progress in that time than in all my years in the fitness game. He's taught me the ways of Olympic Weightliftin' and now I'm plannin' to compete meself! Kyle has kept me safe and focused on me mobility and stretchin'. I'd recommend Kyle to anyone lookin' to up their fitness game!

Splendid establishment. Splendid trainers. Splendid outcomes. I've never encountered the kind of engaging and involved approach that emanates from this gym. Since I began, I've felt revitalized and witnessed tangible progress. Jill Good is a fantastic trainer who will challenge you and assist you in reaching your objectives. If you seek a truthful trainer who ensures your responsibility, then Jill is the one for you. She will aid you in devising a dietary plan and adhering to it. Furthermore, she will provide you with a feasible workout schedule. If you're in search of a commendable gym with exceptional trainers, Active Lab is the ideal spot.
Heather White (6/1/25, 7:20 PM):
What a fantastic place to get your workout in! The gym is spacious with a wide selection of well-maintained equipment. The trainers work as independent contractors who lease the space. I have only utilized the training area, so I cannot speak to the chiropractic, massage, or other services offered.

My wife and I have been working with Tine for over a couple of years now, and she is truly exceptional. She tailors every workout to our specific wants and needs. Tine always challenges us enough to push our abilities forward, without being discouraging.

In addition to training, Tine also provides meal planning and nutrition advice. She is constantly expanding her expertise through specialized certifications. I recently heard that she completed courses in pregnancy and postnatal fitness. She is truly the best all-around!
David Cook (5/30/25, 3:23 AM):
I've been training with Tine Schempp at Active Lab and let me tell you, it's been a top-notch experience! The facility is fantastic, with top-of-the-line equipment and plenty of space for a killer workout. Tine's Functional Fitness program has really helped me bounce back after having a baby. I absolutely adore the variety in workouts, the level of accountability, and her fantastic approach to pushing me to achieve my fitness targets. I can't recommend both Active Lab and Tine highly enough for anyone seeking a stellar facility and personalized workout plan!
Lauren Perry (5/29/25, 3:17 PM):
I cannot express enough how positive my experience has been at Active Lab with my trainer, Dustin! I began my journey at Active Lab two years ago after a skiing accident left me with a broken leg, unsure if I would ever regain full mobility without pain. Dustin has truly worked wonders! His expertise and motivational skills are exceptional. I was amazed at how quickly he assisted me in strengthening my leg, and over the past two years, he has played a significant role in transforming my physique. I am now stronger and healthier than ever before! I highly recommend him without reservation!
Kevin Hill (5/28/25, 10:35 PM):
I absolutely adore the atmosphere of this establishment. It exudes positivity and encouragement! The focus is on training and wellness. I cannot articulate enough my appreciation for my trainer Stephanie. She consistently motivates me to strive for self-improvement. However, I must also mention that every single staff member at Active Lab is equally supportive. While you may have a fantastic trainer, you are also backed by a cohesive team. Individuals in search of such an environment should definitely explore Active Lab!
Margaret Gutierrez (5/28/25, 2:32 PM):
Ashley Olson is a brilliant personal trainer. She truly embodies the principles she teaches, always uplifts me even during tough training weeks, and is incredibly motivational! Her positive energy creates a supportive atmosphere and motivates me to strive for my best self, not just physically, but in all aspects of life! You won't be disappointed with her guidance!
Jonathan Morales (5/27/25, 5:23 PM):
I've been training with Stephanie Rawson for 2 years now and she's absolutely brilliant! She really takes the time to understand you on a personal level and pushes you beyond your perceived limits. Her customized workouts are top-notch. Even after relocating, I make it a priority to schedule sessions with her whenever I'm in town. She's truly exceptional! I've trained with her at other gyms before, but Active Lab is hands down the best gym she's been at! The atmosphere is so motivating, the facilities are pristine, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I can't recommend Active Lab and Stephanie Rawson highly enough!
Virginia Robinson (5/27/25, 8:03 AM):
Christine Schemp has been an outstanding ally in my fitness adventure. She possesses a wealth of knowledge, provides valuable assistance, and challenges me appropriately. The Active Lab gym is truly top-notch.
Eugene Murphy (5/25/25, 11:47 AM):
I started at Active Lab around six months ago. Back then, I was a member of a big fitness center that had everything, except for my active participation. I was in search of one-on-one training tailored to my specific goals, and I was incredibly lucky that Amanda could accommodate me in her schedule. One of the surprising things I learned was the variety of unique workouts that could be done without lots of machines, but with a fantastic personal trainer. Amanda creates diverse workouts for me, so each session I gain more strength, improved balance, awareness of the muscles being engaged, and how they all need to work together. Additionally, Amanda is enjoyable to work with and motivates me to push myself harder. And now, I can confidently wear sleeveless tops!
Rachel Robinson (5/24/25, 7:19 PM):
I popped over to see Ashley Olsen down at Active Labs to brush up on my deadlifts, bench press, and back squats (I'm a trainer myself, but these lifts were a bit new to me). She was kind enough to take me through each exercise, paying close attention to proper form and technique. Ashley is a top-notch trainer, someone I definitely endorse!
Mia Lewis (5/24/25, 6:01 AM):
Active lab is a fantastic gym with top-notch trainers. I've had the pleasure of meeting most of the trainers recently, and let me tell you, each one is as dedicated as the next when it comes to their clients. If you're serious about achieving your fitness goals, I highly recommend them!
William Sanchez (5/23/25, 11:53 PM):
Active Lab is a fantastic fitness center that offers top-notch trainers to assist individuals of varying abilities in achieving their fitness goals. In addition, they provide excellent nutritional guidance and chiropractic services. I have been a member for three years and absolutely adore the ambiance! David, in particular, is an exceptional trainer who strikes a perfect balance between challenging workouts and adequate recovery. He is empathetic towards life's challenges and accommodating to individual needs. Another perk of being a part of Active Lab is the flexibility in scheduling. I appreciate being able to work out at my convenience, which reduces my stress levels.
Elizabeth Thomas (5/20/25, 2:15 AM):
I've been training with Dustin and David three times a week for nearly a year now, and it's been absolutely fantastic! Dustin's meticulous attention to detail and vast knowledge never cease to impress me, and thanks to his guidance, I've delved into weightlifting and prepared for triathlons.
