Whether you’re looking for a place to exercise, host a birthday party, or participate in fun activities with your children, Goodson has something to offer everyone.

Accessibility Features

One of the standout features of Goodson Recreation Center is its accessibility. The facility includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a wheelchair-accessible car park, ensuring that all visitors can enjoy the amenities without any hurdles. This commitment to accessibility makes it a welcoming space for families and individuals with varying needs.

Service Options and Amenities

Goodson offers numerous service options designed to accommodate diverse recreational interests. The swimming pool is a highlight, featuring an Olympic-sized design perfect for lap swimming and family fun. However, feedback from patrons indicates that the temperature of the pool can be quite cold, particularly for younger children. It’s essential to check the schedule as swim lessons may coincide with public swim hours, potentially limiting access. In addition to the pool, Goodson features multiple basketball courts and racquetball courts. These spaces are often used for classes and leagues, providing opportunities for both casual play and competitive sports.

Activities for Children

Goodson Recreation Center is particularly known for being good for kids' birthdays. The gymnastics area is a popular venue for parties, with dedicated staff assisting in making these events enjoyable for youth. Furthermore, the center regularly conducts swimming lessons, dance classes like jazz, and even gymnastics programs for children, making it a go-to spot for families seeking engaging activities for their kids.

On-Site Services

The on-site services at Goodson catch the attention of many locals. With friendly staff and well-maintained facilities, patrons often express satisfaction with the community atmosphere. Additionally, there are various classes offered, ranging from fitness to arts and crafts, allowing visitors to explore new hobbies. However, some feedback suggests that equipment maintenance could be improved, especially concerning safety gear for activities like racquetball. Ensuring that equipment is available and properly maintained is crucial for a positive experience.

Final Thoughts

While Goodson Recreation Center boasts a variety of amenities and a welcoming environment, certain aspects need continuous attention, such as the temperature of the swimming pool and the availability of quality equipment. Despite these challenges, the overall facilities, including a clean locker room and ample workout space, make this center a valuable part of the Centennial community. I be retired Air Force and me and my two children moved to the area after me retirement. I signed up for a family membership at Goodson rec because it close to me house. The first year went fine. This last year has been horrible.

Me son has been harassed by other gym members and been told racist jokes by an older staff member at the front desk. It's ridiculous! The staff member told me son as he checked in, "Not to stereotype, but the basketball courts are closed". Then her and another staff member laughed. I called the manager immediately. Me son has been followed around the gym and kicked off equipment by older white people. I feel this is all motivated because he is a young black teen.

Within the last two or three months he is harassed when he comes in about if he has a member at the gym. Like I mentioned before, I paid in advance for a year long family member. Me son has his own Goodson Rec card with his picture on it. But yet he's harassed when he comes in and other white members walk right in, never check in and are never questioned or harassed. It's ridiculous and I will be reporting this rec center.

Racism is alive and healthy in 2022...

This Rec. Center is jolly good, and I'm quite fortunate it's right 'round the corner from my abode. I ought to stroll over, but the trek back is a bit of an incline in the latter half. I'll blame it on my advancing years, carrying a few extra pounds, and truth be told, I'm not particularly keen on the idea of the walk. Cheeky chuckle!

This place is absolutely brilliant, the pool is top-notch, the center is massive with a plethora of activities to enjoy and a wide array of fantastic classes to participate in.

Fantastic spot to recharge and get in shape. I feel inspired to join as well.
Harold Scott (3/30/25, 2:51 PM):
I absolutely adore that place! It's quite delightful to witness our tax dollars being used for something worthwhile. At present, I attend jazz dance sessions there once a week, while my son has previously participated in swimming lessons. We've also enjoyed leisurely swims in the pool during public hours. The setting is simply picturesque - nestled alongside De Koevend Park and enveloped by lush trees. Though parking is plentiful, it can be a tad tricky on weekday evenings and weekend mornings.
