This gym is a true gem in the heart of Bethesda, nestled at the corner of Ridgefield Road and Westward Avenue. Situated in Westwood Shopping Center II, just above Dominos Pizza, this small local business is owned by a fantastic woman entrepreneur. She has been recognized as the top trainer in Bethesda for several years now!

The atmosphere at this gym is incredibly inviting - the staff is super friendly and the space exudes warmth and coziness. Plus, there's no need to sign a contract. Membership starts at $100 for the first month and then goes up to $120. If you ever need to cancel, just make sure to provide two months' notice.

One of the best things about this gym is that it's never overcrowded. It primarily caters to local clients from the neighborhood, creating a welcoming and community-oriented environment for all who walk through its doors.
Debra Kim (5/6/25, 9:16 PM):
This gym is absolutely brilliant! I've only been a member of two gyms in the last twenty years, both of which left me feeling lost and uninspired. Then I stumbled upon the new Pulse in our neighborhood. The folks there are incredibly friendly, and they offer a wide variety of classes. What I appreciate most about the classes (as a middle-aged, overweight guy) is that they're structured in a way that challenges you without overwhelming, while still keeping more advanced individuals engaged. I now participate in several classes each week, and I've already shed 25 lbs and feel fantastic.

I'm not quite sure what's up with the other review; in my experience, everyone has been incredibly welcoming and friendly, especially Lisa and Kristen. And yes, if either of them is busy training or in a class, they won't interrupt to push a membership on you. There's no pressure or sales pitches targeted at clients or guests here.

I must say, Pulse Fitness truly deserves a five-star rating! Lisa and the entire team of trainers provide an exceptional experience that goes beyond just a workout space. The challenging classes catered to different abilities are what set this local gym apart. Give it a go and you won't regret it!
Megan James (4/23/25, 9:10 AM):
Pulse is without a doubt the most amazing gym around. I've been a member for years and I couldn't be more pleased with the top-notch instruction, the quality of the equipment, and the welcoming atmosphere. Lisa, the owner, is fantastic. She's not only an incredible trainer herself, but she also sets the bar high and fosters a sense of family among us. Even throughout the Pandemic, she has kept us motivated with Zoom and YouTube classes. I can't wait for more outdoor classes as Maryland starts to open up a bit.
