Planet Fitness is a popular gym choice for many fitness enthusiasts in Dallas, Texas. This facility offers several amenities and features, catering to various fitness levels. However, recent reviews have shed light on some important aspects of the gym.
Accessibility Features
For members who require accessibility options, Planet Fitness provides a wheelchair-accessible car park and a wheelchair-accessible entrance. These features ensure that everyone can enjoy a comfortable experience while working out.
Amenities Offered
The gym boasts multiple amenities, including shower facilities that many members appreciate after a workout. However, there have been consistent complaints regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of these showers, with some guests describing the state of the showers as unsatisfactory.
Atmosphere and Planning
The overall atmosphere at the gym is mixed. While it aims to be a judgment-free zone, numerous reviews mention overcrowding and the close proximity of machines, making it feel cramped at times. Proper planning by management to address these issues may enhance members' experiences significantly.
Member Experience and Customer Service
Customer feedback highlights the necessity for improvements in customer service. Many members have reported frustrating interactions with staff, particularly when trying to manage their memberships or report issues with equipment. A more attentive approach from management could lead to a more positive atmosphere.

In relation to the North Dallas, TX facility: The team is rather inexperienced and impolite. I had an awful encounter with an employee (Eduardo) on 1/16/17 at 10:15am who declined to fulfill a service request of prepaying my account. He instructed me to "hush" and "pay attention". There was no supervisor or manager present. I strongly suggest that you provide better training for your staff and instill some sense of accountability. I waited for 30 minutes for a supervisor, but nobody appeared. Consequently, I have terminated my membership.
Furthermore, the equipment is frequently out of order. The restrooms are unclean.
I have reached out to your customer service via your company website, Facebook, and Yelp. However, I have yet to receive a response from the management.

Today, on December 22, 2023, I went to Planet Fitness and experienced the worst customer service ever. I dropped my earplugs on the floor, and a lady picked them up and took them to the front desk in front of me. However, when I asked for them, the staff said they hadn't seen anything. They refused to return my earplugs unless the lady who picked them up was present. It was truly disappointing how the staff handled the situation, so I ended up canceling my membership.

Oh, my word! The chaps from Spain in this establishment are quite dreadful, they do carry on as if they're the lords of the manor. I simply must cancel posthaste! I've been endeavoring to overlook it, but it's rather dire - they monopolize all of the weights and weight machines. Most unfortunate, I must say! In my homeland, such behavior at the gym is unheard of. I'd gladly shell out double the amount just to avoid this chaotic situation.
Charles Clark (6/9/25, 2:51 PM):
This gym is going downhill fast. I've been a member here for about 3 months now and the same broken equipment from day 1 is still not fixed! Only one out of four stair masters works, most of the treadmills are starting to skip, and one out of four men's showers is not working properly - just dripping water. I informed the front desk about these issues two weeks ago and have received no response. There are always two people at the front desk, but all I ever see them do is change out the spray bottles. Please prioritize maintenance of the gym.
Amanda Campbell (6/9/25, 3:32 AM):
I absolutely adore this gym! The staff at the front desk are so polite and delightful to interact with. Today, the gentleman working was simply amazing and made my day brighter. It was around 2pm on Sunday, October 30th. I'm not sure of his name, but his exceptional customer service truly put a smile on my face.
Stephanie Thomas (6/6/25, 4:37 PM):
I received an email from PF stating that masks were required for all gym-goers. When I visited the gym last week, there were only about 10 members working out, and I noticed that at least half of them had removed their masks from their mouths and noses. When I inquired about this with the employee at the front desk, he mentioned that those engaging in cardio exercises were allowed to take off their masks. I decided to leave disappointed. Shame on PF.

Alright, mate! It's been roughly half a year since I last set foot in this gym, my local spot, and around 4 months since I last left a review. Seems like they've finally sorted out the AC. Cheers! We've got some fresh gear, the layout of the gym has been revamped, and the AC is actually doing its job. Feels good to be back at my usual spot. No more lengthy drives to the other joint, Planet Fitness. Cheers again!
Pamela Peterson (6/5/25, 4:07 AM):
Absolutely dreadful location. Drove a good half hour to check out various spots, always had positive experiences until Gustavo turned us away, claiming it wasn't our "home gym". Utterly appalling gym visit, truly abysmal customer service. Let's hope this isn't indicative of the company's overall culture...and for the record, we're black card members.
Betty Watson (6/1/25, 8:48 PM):
The restroom for gentlemen consistently emits a noxious odor. I comprehend that it is a changing and shower area, but it should not reek like a sewer on a daily basis. There seems to be a plumbing problem at hand. I have visited the facility at least 10 times, and each time the scent remains unchanged. Furthermore, the arrangement of the machines is excessively cramped. One is practically rubbing elbows with others. The gym is clearly inadequate for the volume of patrons it receives. It would greatly benefit from some renovations and enhancements.
Terry Jackson (5/30/25, 8:51 AM):
I was absolutely gutted when they tried to charge me for simply trying to get a workout in with my sis. And let me tell you, the blokes at that gym who hog one of the three bars for a whole hour, spending most of their time glued to their phones, are proper nutters. It's not fair to the rest of us members, mate. If you have the chance, I'd recommend giving the one in Plano a go instead and save yourself the hassle. Cheers!
Raymond Peterson (5/30/25, 4:31 AM):
When the pandemic began, I requested the cancellation of my gym membership due to pre-existing respiratory issues and car troubles preventing me from attending. I was assured that the membership would be canceled. However, three months later, I noticed a renewal charge on my account. After contacting them multiple times and requesting the manager, who never seemed to be available, to call me back, I received no response. They tried to charge me for a monthly membership fee, so I placed a stop payment on my checking account to block Planet Fitness. Despite this, they attempted to withdraw the money under a different name. This experience has resulted in over $300 being taken out of my account without authorization. I caution against trusting this location with your account information as they have proven to be deceitful and untrustworthy.
Juan Robinson (5/29/25, 4:08 PM):
Pros:
- Not as crowded as other gyms I've visited before
- The staff is really friendly and does a great job of welcoming and keeping the place clean
Cons:
- It's about half the size of the Plano location
- I don't use the gym showers, but the benches in that area are old and broken
- Most of the cable machines are missing the knobs to adjust the height, which makes it harder to change settings
Andrew Jones (5/24/25, 1:18 PM):
UPDATE: The AC has finally been repaired, although there are still several machines out of order and the music volume remains too high.
The air conditioning had been malfunctioning for a good month now. I'm not talking about it being slightly ineffective or set at the wrong temperature. Nope, the AC is completely busted. It's been quite unbearable. I had a chat with the folks at the front desk, and they couldn't even provide a timeline for when it would be sorted. I reckon a few folks might have called it quits on their memberships because of this, and I'm contemplating that route myself. I don't typically leave reviews, but I'm popping this one here in the hopes that management takes notice and gets the AC situation sorted out.
Harper Smith (5/22/25, 1:48 AM):
It gets a bit busy on weekday evenings, but that's to be expected with the size and location. The weekends are spot on! I absolutely adore the stairmasters at this gym, and the fans are a game-changer! It's always pristine, there's a fresh scent as soon as you walk in, and the staff are so kind and welcoming.
Alice Price (5/21/25, 7:30 PM):
This place is spotless, mate. It's rare to see such a tidy gym, especially one that's open to the public. The staff are clearly on their game, and the guests are too. Cheers to a well-kept joint!
Diane Gutierrez (5/20/25, 5:36 AM):
Overall, the Gym is great, with friendly staff, etc. However, the spray bottles for cleaning appear to be filled with a very diluted substance and have no noticeable scent, so I'm not completely confident in their sanitizing effectiveness! Additionally, the locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms never seem to smell clean and only appear to be swept, leaving doubts about whether they are mopped, cleaned, and sanitized properly. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the convenient location.
PLEASE ENSURE PROPER SANITIZATION AND CLEANLINESS!
Ethan Sanchez (5/19/25, 3:37 AM):
After a 15-hour drive to Texas, the first thing I do is hit the gym. It just happened to be my gym day, albeit a few hours delayed. But hey, I still made it – now that's what I call dedication!
Cheryl Parker (5/18/25, 8:11 PM):
The gym is in a fantastic spot. The only drawback is its size, I do wish it was a tad larger like some of the other locations, especially as it can get quite busy from 6-9pm Monday to Friday. It would be lovely if they could enhance the facilities such as the lockers, water fountains, and massage area. However, besides that, it's a splendid gym for getting in a top-notch workout.
Olivia Myers (5/18/25, 7:25 AM):

Bloody and pongy. The showers in the ladies' changing room have got used personal items in them and are minging. The toilet stalls had rubbish on the floor and loo roll all over the place. Sinks were grubby with used paper towels all over the counter. Disgusting...
Aaron Barnes (5/13/25, 2:19 AM):
I recently paid a visit to my local Planet Fitness gym, and I must say I was quite let down by the experience. Despite the ongoing threat of Covid-19, hardly anyone at this location seemed to be bothering with masks. This stands in stark contrast to my previous visits to other branches, where mask-wearing is strictly enforced regardless of the workout being done. Even the staff manning the front desk were without masks, which was truly disheartening for me as a regular. I felt a distinct lack of safety and adherence to health protocols. The absence of hand sanitizer stations, save for a lone bottle of cleaner near the paper towels, further compounded my concerns. A sign on the door clearly stated the necessity of wearing masks, but it appeared no one was heeding this directive. Considering these lapses in health and safety measures during this critical period, I am contemplating finding a new gym that prioritizes the well-being of its patrons.
