24 Hour Fitness in Moraga, California: A Comprehensive Overview

If you're considering a membership at the 24 Hour Fitness in Moraga, California, it's essential to understand both the on-site services and amenities available, as well as the feedback from current and past members.

On-Site Services and Service Options

This gym offers a variety of service options for its members, including free weights, cardio machines, and functional training areas. However, some users have reported issues with machine functioning and maintenance, such as broken water fountains and equipment that often requires repair. Despite these concerns, many appreciate the helpful staff who maintain a friendly atmosphere.

Planning Your Visit

Before heading to 24 Hour Fitness, planning your visit is crucial due to varying peak times. The gym tends to be less crowded during early mornings and late evenings. It's advisable to check the current hours, as there have been reports of closures that contradict its branding as a "24-hour" fitness center.

Accessibility Concerns

For those requiring additional accommodations, it is important to note that the Moraga location includes a wheelchair-accessible entrance and a designated wheelchair-accessible car park. Unfortunately, this does not extend to all amenities; members have reported a lack of cleanliness and maintenance issues throughout the facility.

Amenities Offered

While 24 Hour Fitness Moraga provides a good selection of weights and cardio machines, it lacks some amenities typically found in larger locations, such as a swimming pool or sauna. This has caused dissatisfaction among members who expect more given the membership fees. Additionally, the locker room facilities are described as decent but could benefit from better hygiene practices.

Member Feedback

Members have expressed mixed feelings about their experiences at this location. Praise has been directed toward the friendly staff and available equipment, yet many complaints highlight ongoing issues with cleanliness, malfunctioning equipment, and delayed repairs. The locker rooms often receive particular criticism for cleanliness, which detracts from the overall experience.

Conclusion

For potential members considering the 24 Hour Fitness in Moraga, it is essential to weigh the pros and cons carefully. While the gym does provide valuable on-site services and a welcoming environment, ongoing maintenance issues and cleanliness concerns may detract from the experience. If you prioritize a clean facility with reliable amenities, you may want to explore other options as well.

There are too many treadmills that are not working.
Kevin Morales (4/27/25, 12:03 AM):
Karen be a fantastic instructor. Always positive and full of encouragement!
Chloe Morris (4/26/25, 9:51 AM):
There seems to be an ongoing issue of sexual harassment towards female members. It is imperative that this matter is thoroughly addressed and resolved promptly.
Denise Gray (4/24/25, 11:26 PM):
Brilliant neighborhood gym. Absolutely no gripes.
Ralph Sullivan (4/24/25, 4:45 PM):
No hot water for two months now. This is absolutely ridiculous! When you call to inquire about it, they always respond with the same excuse: "they are still negotiating for it." Are you pulling my leg!? This is utterly unacceptable, guys.
Ruth Bennett (4/24/25, 12:57 PM):
No wet area available... no pool, jacuzzi, or steam room, mate.
Judy Martin (4/23/25, 10:45 PM):
Unless you be a total snob who be wantin' to fork out hundreds of bucks a month for a fancy gym membership, pay no mind to them bad reviews. This here be a perfectly fine gym with top-notch equipment and friendly staff! There be plenty o' parkin', the machines work like a charm, ample space for stretchin', and the locker room be decent.
Catherine Johnson (4/23/25, 10:22 AM):
This gym, it's one of the tiniest clubs around. About half of the lockers, they're kaput. Not many classes on offer, and the customer service, well, let's just say it leaves much to be desired. But hey, they sure do know how to fold a mean towel, so that's something positive, right?
Jason Perez (4/21/25, 6:43 PM):
The spot is handy and its schedule is fantastic. However, the drawback is that the gear (both weights and cardio) is a bit dated at the Moraga site. It tends to break down often, and because they opt to repair rather than replace the faulty equipment, some machines can be out of service from time to time.
Ann Ortiz (4/18/25, 8:38 AM):
Something was always broken on the equipment and they wanted to kick me out just because I was filming myself. But you can take photos, where's the logic in that?
Logan Cruz (4/16/25, 10:10 PM):
After I canceled my membership, they continued to charge me for 2 years.. I reported them to the better business bureau but I still have not received my $2K+ back.

Unless you pay a reservation fee in advance, many of the classes are full and you waste your time going there.

Why don't they put in more classes that are popular, there are certainly time slots available. It's probably because they do not want to spend money on teachers.. they must make HUGE bucks with such a large membership. The money should go into investing in more classes such as yoga that always fill up. They get stars for the politeness of staff, with several staff always greeting you when you enter and leave. Also, some of the class teachers are very experienced and know their field. They would have received great if they added more classes.
Janice Reyes (4/16/25, 11:24 AM):
24 Hour Moraga used to be a lovely spot. Nonetheless, it never reached SuperSport status. Lately, the folks who brought the fun vibe (Jenna, Barry, Nateya, and LoRay) have moved on to a different SuperSport. The gym, in itself, isn't outstanding. It's pretty tidy, yet it could do with a stellar crew and upgraded gear.

What really brings this gym down is the lack of friendliness among most of the patrons. Personally, I favor 24HR Pleasanton since the gals at San Ramon are some of the least pleasant I've come across.
Sharon Mitchell (4/16/25, 8:35 AM):
They fib about their prices and their staff are total tossers.
Nicholas Thomas (4/13/25, 8:45 AM):
I’ve visited all the 24-hour gyms around the Bay Area and this one is without a doubt the finest. Even with the rowdy teenagers 💀 during school breaks and summer, it remains the best. Everything is consistently tidy and well-equipped.
Raymond Lee (4/9/25, 1:51 PM):
The gym was well kept, had a great selection of equipment, and the staff were really friendly. Despite having to cancel my membership because of losing my job due to COVID, the cancellation process was easy, which I'm grateful for and will keep in mind when searching for another gym in the future. I hope they pull through.
Juan Clark (4/6/25, 2:32 AM):
It takes a lot for me to write such a negative review. I've been extremely patient with 24 Hour Moraga. I can't tell you how many times the front desk worker doesn't show up to open the gym at 5 am. It's probably once a week at least! I've been going here for years, but it's never been this bad. Waking up at 4:30 am to get to the gym is hard, especially when you've taken your pre-workout and you just sit there in front waiting for someone to open the doors. Not sure what needs to happen, but something has got to change. F45 has no issue opening their doors at 5 am.
Doris Martin (3/31/25, 1:59 PM):
A tremendous gym, fully stocked and spotless. I would highly recommend. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Ruth Watson (3/29/25, 8:34 PM):
This gym 'as everythin' I need in terms of machines and weights. There ain't never a wait. Everythin' be very clean. You can't go wrong with this gym. I 'aven't tried the classes yet, but it looks like people are 'avin' a blast.
Christine Coleman (3/27/25, 6:34 AM):
One must say, this establishment ought not to be classified and valued as one of their "Super Sport" gyms, for it lacks a lap pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, or even a basketball court.
Martha Williams (3/26/25, 11:18 AM):
They have a great variety of weights, with dumbbells not exceeding 110 lbs. Make sure to find the hours that suit you best. The majority of folks there are quite friendly. The staff is also excellent. The optimal times to visit are right when they open and around 10 am.
