All is well but the timing, they shut down early from Friday to Sunday, it would be splendid if they stayed open until midnight every day.
Lawrence Ortiz (4/29/25, 1:07 PM):
This gym offers great value for money, at just $20 a month you have access to unlimited gym use and a variety of classes. I particularly enjoy the Yoga and Total Bodypump classes.
However, since the pandemic, there have been limited class options with no Bodypump and only one morning yoga class available on Thursdays. I've had to drive to another location for more class choices. This has led me to deduct a star from my rating.
I continued to pay my membership fees throughout quarantine in the hope that classes would resume once the gym reopened. It has also been challenging to obtain accurate information as the website is not always up to date. I guess you truly do get what you pay for.
Sandra Ortiz (4/28/25, 1:04 PM):
Excellent gym. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The members really put in the effort during their workouts and don't pass judgment. They are always willing to help out with a spot or offer advice when needed.
Beverly Jenkins (4/28/25, 3:53 AM):
I 'ad to give them a star to send review, but I would 'ave given them a minus 0. Because I cancel my membership on 03/26/19 by sending in a certified letter to this location which they were still taking payment out of my account (after been told they didn't receive the certified letter). So I sent all my copies of my certified records to their corporate offices, chargers were placed back into my account. Now fast forward 8 months and checking my account they 'ave started back taking money out again & not only there's an increase in the amount. I've been emailed their corporate offices since November & I'm yet to get a response. I'm not just going to let them keep stealing from me. So watch your statement.

We will now be closing even earlier on weekends.

In all honesty, if you truly want to assist individuals, consistency is the most crucial aspect.

Customers should not have to question whether their gym is open or verify before heading there.

You really do not 'become accustomed to' inconsistency. It only leads to frustration.

Keep in mind, there's a new $10 alternative right across the street.

- and I stand by,
Eliminate the annual fee.
It is a misleading business strategy aimed at making monthly fees seem lower. (I am aware it's in the paperwork.) Your clients will be much less frustrated, and retention rates will increase.
Kathleen Martinez (4/25/25, 10:39 AM):
I've been frequenting this gym for around a year, and considering the monthly fee, it's not too shabby of a gym.

The gym itself is tidy, and the equipment is satisfactory. The locker rooms are generally clean, although I do wish the showers were of better quality.

I typically exercise in the mornings when it's peaceful. It can get quite crowded after the workday, but usually, there are still machines available.

The highlight of my morning routine is encountering Alicia with her radiant smile. She's truly fantastic.
Tyler Hayes (4/24/25, 11:40 PM):
In general, my time here has been top-notch. A bunch of people were griping on Yelp about struggles with canceling services and getting refunds, but that was not at all my experience. I initially signed up for YouCoach, but discovered there wasn't a coach available for my early morning sessions (the only reason I docked one star). I brought a cancellation letter to the manager and explained my predicament. He apologized, and within 4 business days, the refund was sorted. Considering the gym's poor reputation for service cancellations, I was genuinely surprised and grateful. While it may not have all the fancy bells and whistles in their locker room, there's a great selection of weight machines and even more cardio equipment. It's a fantastic deal with dedicated staff and policies!
Amelia Green (4/23/25, 4:59 PM):
I must say, the rap music blaring so loudly through my earbuds at Youfit was simply unbearable. And to top it off, the staff, who were not only unprofessional but also quite overweight. It's surprising they don't hire more in shape individuals at the gym.

I made the decision to terminate my membership, only to find out they not only charged me for an extra month but also slapped on a cancellation fee. When I inquired about the additional charges, the staff member mentioned something about a $10, 10-day rule, but couldn't provide a clear explanation beyond that.

Furthermore, don't expect the gym to be open during the posted hours if you arrive early. Along with the issues mentioned above, I couldn't stand the constant play of CNBC and CNN on the TVs - felt like I was being fed propaganda non-stop.

All in all, I decided it was best to part ways with Youfit for the reasons mentioned above.
Andrew Wilson (4/22/25, 9:49 AM):
YouFit is the tidiest gym you'll come across. Top-notch management and the trainers are ready to assist with any of your needs. This gym attracts a mostly diverse crowd, not just the loud weightlifters.
Charles Adams (4/21/25, 10:51 AM):
Great gym with lots of room and a friendly staff. The locker room is kept in good condition. Some of the cardio machines are showing some wear and tear on the console, but I'm confident they'll be serviced soon.
Sophia Hill (4/21/25, 3:08 AM):
How is it even possible that canceling a gym membership can be so difficult? We just moved to another state, and these folks are refusing to cancel our membership!!
Absolutely dreadful customer service, you can never reach a live person on the phone, just a recorded message.
A truly awful experience! Avoid becoming a member at all costs.
Mia Alexander (4/18/25, 9:22 AM):
I ‘ave ‘ad a brilliant experience with Retro Fitness so far. It used to be YouFit, but I never were a member there before. They ‘aven’t done any renovations yet, so the branding and layout is just the same as YouFit.

The membership is cheaper than LA Fitness across the street for more benefits, a less crowded gym, and a much better and friendlier atmosphere and staff. I’m chuffed I made the switch to Retro!

UPDATE: I’ve updated me review because over the past two months, the gym ‘as been closed without any warning and for no apparent reason. It’s a bit frustrating to wake up early, get ready, and drive to the gym only for it to be closed.
