Kimberly Morris (6/15/25, 1:03 AM):
I absolutely adore this gym, mate! However, I must say, for the price of the monthly membership, it's a bit cheeky that the machine areas look a bit dodgy with all that dust and dirt. They should really put in a tad more effort in keeping the common areas spick and span, as well as the loos and showers, don't you think?
Joseph Gonzales (6/10/25, 6:45 PM):
Much like many others in this place, I've had numerous unfavorable encounters with inadequate management, lack of transparency, and a general lack of respect; the list could go on forever!
If you can find a better option, go for it no matter what. Hold on to your money because they excel at separating you from it!
For a high-end gym, I anticipate top-notch everything, including everyone wearing masks at all times, as long as the mandate is in place, and bathrooms being cleaned continuously!
The overall facility is stunning, but everything inside those walls seems quite unreliable, to say the least.
Patrick Flores (6/9/25, 10:33 AM):
This establishment was previously a favored workout spot of mine, but alas, it now merits zilch stars following a shift in management. The pricing has skyrocketed and the crowds are simply unmanageable, even in the early hours of day. The manager, Ihsaan, is quite impolite, showing a lack of respect and an air of superiority. It is disheartening to fork over a hefty sum only to face mistreatment and scorn from him. It is indeed a pity to observe such a deterioration in service quality and overall ambiance.
Andrea Taylor (6/5/25, 12:23 AM):
I'm not a member of this gym. I booked a pool party here for my daughter's first birthday on a Saturday. Everything ran smoothly. I had 4 fantastic hosts who were absolutely amazing! They assisted with setting up, serving cake, keeping track of time, and cleaning up once the party was over. They were attentive, kind, and extremely courteous. I couldn't have asked for better staff for my daughter's first birthday. Based on the exceptional customer service provided to my guests, daughter, and myself, I would happily book another party here for her or my son. I am sincerely grateful for the hosts who helped me throughout the day and appreciative of the gym for accommodating my party needs. Dan, my coordinator, was also very helpful during our email and phone exchanges. Thank you for the wonderful experience, and I'm happy to give a 5-star review based on my party's success.
Alice Perez (6/4/25, 4:50 AM):
My partner and I have been part of this gym for two months now. We have two little ones, aged 6 and 2, and we feel it offers great value for families like ours. The Kids Academy does an excellent job of keeping the children entertained without relying on a TV, which is something we really appreciate. The pool is fantastic, and we've enjoyed the classes and facilities offered. The staff is always very friendly, which adds to our positive experience. The only downside for me is the way they push additional services that end up costing you more money if you forget to cancel them. I understand their reasoning, but it can come across as deceitful and leave you questioning their motives. I would rate them a 4.5 if I could, but since that's not possible, I'll round up to a 5, especially because many negative reviews seem to be from non-members.
Judy Evans (6/3/25, 8:13 PM):
UPDATE: It remains quite bustling and somewhat overhyped. The Spa does offer a delightful massage experience, which I quite enjoy. However, my enthusiasm for Lifetime Fitness as a Founding member has been tempered by the reality of the situation. It appears that Upper Montgomery County is abuzz with activity, judging by the multitude of visitors. While I have a fondness for swimming and find the pools to be lovely, I am disheartened by the sheer volume of people. Securing a lane for a swim proves challenging due to the various classes, swim team practices, and general crowd. Navigating the locker room is no easy feat, with constant commotion, children darting about, blow dryers in full force...it's a cacophony that drowns out all other thoughts. Given that I commute on the Metro and am surrounded by crowds in Downtown DC all day, I had hoped that Lifetime would offer a tranquil retreat. Alas, that respite seems elusive, except perhaps on late nights come Friday and Saturday. I find it regrettable that memberships were seemingly oversubscribed, placing quantity above the desired quality. I intend to bide my time, waiting a year to assess if the situation improves before considering re-enrollment.
Nicholas Nelson (6/2/25, 1:01 AM):
Ah, this gym, I tell ya, it's a right rip-off. Not only does it cost me nearly a week's worth of wages, but the quality and service are seriously lacking in all areas. It's like, they never have soap or shampoo, and don't get me started on the dirty towels they put back on the shelves. I've complained about it countless times and even showed them evidence, but it's like talking to a brick wall. The one thing they never forget to do, though, is take money out of my account. It's just one disappointment after another with their lack of quality and care.
Bruce Brown (5/18/25, 8:28 AM):
There's so much to love about this place. The gym is top-notch, complete with a diverse range of fantastic coaches and class instructors who truly inspire the best in all of us in this community.

Let me share something with you...the possibilities are endless.
Anna Davis (5/18/25, 12:24 AM):
I was a bit hesitant to shell out the $120 membership fee, but I must say, it's absolutely packed with amenities. Unlike other gyms, they don't trap you in contracts, so you have the freedom to bail out whenever you want.

This gym is massive, spanning three levels. The best way to sum up this spot is "energy". It's bursting with vibes, and there's always a variety of classes to cater to all kinds of folks. I enjoy hitting this place up because seeing all the fit people in action really gets me pumped up to get moving!
Kimberly Roberts (5/16/25, 8:22 PM):
It's quite amusing to peruse the musings of yesteryear, and alas, it seems the current situation at the gym remains unchanged, if not deteriorated. The Yoga quarters are situated beneath the Dance studio, adjacent to the Basketball Courts, resulting in a cacophony of stomping and thudding during one's supposedly tranquil yoga practice. The upper level sees minimal use and is bereft of adequate equipment, rendering it a squandered space. One must question the architectural rationale behind such a layout.
The machine padding displays signs of wear and tear, with many being torn. If replacement is not feasible, a simple fix should suffice. Curiously, the sauna was cleaned at an inconvenient hour of 9:30 am, disregarding the presence of numerous patrons still utilizing the facilities. A later cleaning schedule, perhaps at 11 am or during nighttime hours, would be more considerate and efficient. Furthermore, the malodorous state of the shower area is a cause for concern. A few air fresheners could easily remedy this issue and enhance the overall experience, preventing it from resembling a sewer.
It appears that the establishment has yet to find a suitable successor for the retired manager, leading to a lack of proper oversight. Given the exorbitant fees charged, one would rightfully expect a superior standard of service and amenities from a fitness club of this caliber.
Ava James (5/7/25, 5:28 PM):
This gym 'as gone downhill, mate. The staff are right rude and unprofessional - especially the ones at the front desk and the bloke in charge (Ihsaan). Don't bother wasting your dosh 'ere, go check out other gyms or private studios in the area instead. And if you do end up signin' up, good luck tryin' to move without bumpin' into someone (it's rammed), and good luck if you 'ave to deal with that manager!
Charles Gonzales (5/5/25, 8:32 PM):
This gym is absolutely top-notch, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else for my workouts. The membership fee is totally worth it, no doubt about it. And let me tell you, the yoga and group classes are just incredible. The team here is so caring, cheerful, and welcoming. If anything ever comes up, they are all super helpful. I have zero regrets about signing up every month, this place is a real gem.
Carol Allen (5/5/25, 5:39 AM):
I've been coming to this place for the last couple of years and I must say, I've thoroughly enjoyed every moment. I want to give a big shoutout to the staff and management for their diligent efforts in ensuring the safety of us gym-goers during these trying times. The facilities have implemented necessary precautions and upheld a standard of friendliness and hygiene that really put my mind at ease about returning to the gym. The group fitness sessions are top-notch, the locker room amenities are fantastic, and I absolutely adore having access to their stellar yoga program. Huge thanks for your continued hard work!
Jean Collins (5/1/25, 1:07 AM):
I must say, it's rather disheartening to witness the plight of this gym. It boasts excellent amenities, yet is marred by members who engage in theft, sport inappropriate attire, and fail to maintain the high standards befitting of such an establishment. This unfortunate scenario often arises when rules are not rigorously enforced. Personally, I have transitioned to Rockville, where the clientele exudes a superior quality. However, even there, I have noticed a shift in ambiance compared to a decade ago when I first became a member. Sadly, many individuals frequenting the facility now exhibit conduct more akin to that of a basic Planet Fitness gym.
Philip Nguyen (4/28/25, 8:13 PM):
Unpleasant changing rooms. Particularly the family locker room during pool season. Hair all over the place, Band-Aids left on the floor, just dirt in general.

And the restroom facilities are dreadful, it's revolting to step inside. It seems like they never bother to clean in there. In other lifetime gyms, you would see the staff tidying up the locker rooms quite frequently. I have never witnessed anyone cleaning the family locker room. Not saying they don't, but it indicates how rarely it happens.

I will revise my rating once they address this issue. Otherwise, I do like the place, but I can't recommend it to anyone in its current state.
Abigail Gomez (4/28/25, 3:27 AM):
I do declare, I surely do miss y'all ☺️ This here Gym is a real gem, I must say. It's one of the finest establishments I've ever had the pleasure of visiting in all my days. When you factor in the top-notch services, equipment, safety measures, and the kindness of the staff, $170 is quite a steal, I reckon.
Samuel Sullivan (4/26/25, 9:52 AM):
Great facility and the staff are so friendly compared to other places in the DMV area!

I absolutely love the boxing section of this gym with its hanging bags and a speed bag area for improving timing and rhythm.

Every staff member I interacted with was incredibly helpful and even gave us a tour of the facility.

If you're into intense workouts and want to get a solid MMA or boxing cardio session, Gaithersburg Lifetime Fitness is the spot to check out!
Logan Stewart (4/25/25, 4:43 PM):
I've been a member for 'bout two months now, and I must say I'm absolutely lovin' it. I've been takin' advantage of the classes as well as playin' pickleball on the courts. Cheers!
Melissa Howard (4/25/25, 7:06 AM):
Hey there! Just wanted to share my recent experience at Lifetime Gaithersburg. In the last few months, things have taken a bit of a nosedive due to the gym becoming really crowded. Let me tell you, it's like this place turned into a mini LA Fitness, but with prices that are through the roof. I've checked out other Lifetime locations in big cities like Manhattan, Chicago, and Minneapolis, and let me tell you, Gaithersburg is like a sardine can in comparison.

This gym is busier than the mall on a weekend afternoon, especially after work hours. If you want to actually use the equipment without a wait, your best bet is hitting the gym at the crack of dawn or late at night. The cleanliness situation isn't great either – the gym and bathrooms could definitely use some more attention.

The overcrowding has led to an influx of newbies who haven't quite grasped proper gym etiquette. I've had folks practically breathing down my neck waiting for a machine, sometimes even trying to jump on before I've had a chance to finish my sets. And don't even get me started on the lack of essential equipment and the lack of management when it comes to dealing with bad behavior.

Speaking of equipment, it's slim pickings here. Trying to snag a leg extension machine is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. And the number of adjustable benches? Let's just say it leaves much to be desired. Oh, and don't be surprised if you see teenagers dribbling basketballs in the weight area when there's a whole court available – priorities, right?

As for cleanliness, let's just say the cleaning crew could step up their game. There's still plenty of grime and debris lurking around the equipment, and those supposedly clean towels aren't always up to snuff.

And don't even get me started on the ALPHA classes hogging all the machines, especially the coveted squat racks. These classes seem to take over the gym at peak hours, making it a real challenge to get your own workout in. Some of the instructors can come off a bit entitled and territorial, making it hard to navigate around their sessions.

Overall, the overcrowding and lack of management have really put a damper on what used to be a decent gym experience. Here's hoping they can turn things around soon!

I've been a proud member since 2017, and recently LifeTime has really stepped up their game in terms of providing top-notch care that goes beyond just the "gym." As a busy business owner and parent of two, I often find myself not only getting my workouts in, but also conducting the majority of my meetings there. One area where I've noticed a significant improvement is in the child care services and the staff who oversee it. My kids absolutely adore spending their two hours playing, creating, and learning while my wife and I focus on our fitness goals, or even have a family meeting.

We recently inquired about our three-year-old daughter participating in some of the events geared towards children aged 4 and up, despite her being potty trained. To our delight, we received a private message informing us that our feedback had been taken into consideration, and they are now welcoming potty trained three-year-olds to join these activities! It made us feel truly valued. LifeTime has become like a second home to our family.
